Invulnerability and Willpower tankers need to be in the vicinity of mobs for their defense and regeneration. Under certain circumstances (the tank surrounded by melee mobs while also under fire from another group of ranged mobs), knocking the mobs around the tank away can result in the tank losing a substantial amount of mitigation.

And pretty much every Tanker primary has some kind of damage aura or other effect that requires the presence of mobs (Consume, Energy Absorption, Oppressive Gloom, Power Sink, Ice Patch, Chilling Embrace, etc.). An Ice tanker about to use Energy Absorption could find himself denuded of mobs by knockback, and thereby lose critically needed defense.

Of course, those mobs are not doing anything while they're knocked back, so it's not usually very dangerous when this happens -- it's just an annoyance. But for something like Ice Melee, the Ice Patch often forms a significant part of the tanker's mitigation, and knocking all the mobs off it can be bad if the mobs have ranged attacks and feel no need to rush back to you (like certain Rikti).

So, people should know better than to use area KB attacks on most tankers, and should desist when a tanker asks them to stop. And tankers should give others fair warning when KB is harming/annoying them. And if they can't work it out, then they shouldn't be teaming together.
Your telling this to a guy who's first toon was and still is a lvl 50 Invul/Enrg tanker
This is why we were given taunt. The +def is nice, yes, but it won't kill us.
If anything, KB stops a few more people attacking, therefore decreasing the ammount your getting hit anyway.
  4. I think I know how to fix the idea behind the buff -debuff being seperate, and same with the def and res sets.

Yes, they are mixed and matched. But WHICH is the one that is focused on?
So, you will either have a buff set with a few debuffs (/Fire on Corrs) or a Debuff set with some buffs (/Rad on Corrs)
A res set with some defence (Willpower) or a Defense set with some Resistance (Stone armour).

Hell, I'd go for it. Unlockable, maybe. But more options would be nice.

There's being forced into something, and then theres actively embracing it.
So you get the knuckle-dragger types (metaphorically) on both sides.
  6. The first time I got two IOs from the same set...
I slotted them in Different sets...and got mad that the effects didnt happen. Until I realised, probably after some explanation, that they had ti be slotted in the SAME power.
Oh, and that you couldn't have two of the same set in a power.

I was actually happy to fight Vahz at such a low level, since they have an XP bonus, that meant faster leveling. And if you take out their chaperones fast (Reapers, Morts, and Eidolons, the rest are pretty easy pickings since they lose interest in you fast.)
I don't have your luck. I had a lvl pact duo with a friend and his WS, we both got faceplanted over and over. It's the fact that all Vahz do toxic damage, the docs have stacking slow, and the zombies actual punches semm capable of breaking concrete, let alone our lowbie boomers.

I read Papa's tri-form PB guide and a few bind guides to go with it and, so far, I've found it very convenient to hit a single key to switch forms and activate their associated trays. Granted, it takes a while to learn and get used to, and I'm open to any suggestions on how to more quickly switch and apply the various form human/squid/dwarf powers, each of which take up almost a tray each, two for human form.

Currently, I have human form set up in trays 1 & 2 (with odd/temporary powers like Pocket D teleport in tray 3), and squid/dwarf powers separately in key-bind activated trays 8 & 9. I'm open for ideas... is there a better/quicker way to arrange this?
Look on the tray bar for a little + sign.
That will pop up a whole new tray for you. I tend to make that number 4, and jam it under the existing three in the bottom corner.
Voila. Four trays, zilch keybinds ^^

    Hehe I like it
Tbh, it was more a case of trying to make the idea something a bit different. Confront is probably the only one that could easily stay the same. I mean, its the same as any current power. How does taunt work on CoT ghosts, or 5th/Council Robots? But it does. Making the 'It wouldnt work' arguement ultimately pointless.
  15. Lvl 1 - Hammer Punch: Minor/Moderate Damage, chance to stun
You punch your enemy wherever they looks vulnerable, wherever that is. Attacking the weak points gives you a chance to leave your enemy helpless for a moment, as they recover.

Lvl 1 - Viscious Kick: Moderate damage, -def
You lash out at your opponent, forcing them to back off. Even then, it's hard to put off a determined attacker, effectively lowering their defence as they try and back away.

Lvl 2 - Furious Assault: Cone Moderate Damage
You swing at ever opponent in range. It doesn't need to be pretty, it just needs to make them hurt.
(For the animation, a right swing, left swing, then a sort fo roundhouse kick. Certainly not another flurry port)

    Lvl 6 - Headbutt: Moderate damage, self +damage, +hit
You headbutt your opponent and, while most people might find it painful, all it does for you is get the adrenaline pumping. It might well wear off fast, but it's enough to get you in a real fighting mood.

Lvl 8 - Rabbit Kick: High Damage, Knockback, chance for -end
You land a kick with both feet on your opponent, with enough force to knock them flying. Theres a chance that such a swift fall will knock some of the air from their lungs as well.

Lvl 12 - Verbal Assault: Foe Taunt, low chance for fear
You pick out one opponent and throw every insult you can bring to mind at them. Most foes will be incensed by your tirade, but some might be made to quiver in panic at your furious barrage of verbal abuse.

Lvl 18 - Handful of Dirt: Cone, Foe Confuse, Sleep, -hit
In the finest manner of fighting dirty, anything can be a weapon. The failsafe is a handful of whatever is to hand; dirt, stones, sand, inter-dimensional spore plant. Whatever gets in your opponents face and makes him reel.

Lvl 26 - Knee-Capper: Moderate damage, immobilise, slow
Sometimes it's not about hurting your opponent. It's making them stand the heck still. A swift boot to the knee cap, or whatever the equivelant is, tends to slow most things down, even if it doesn't stop them in their tracks.

Lvl 32 - Unrelenting Assault: Superior Damage, Targetted AoE, Knockdown
You launch yourself full pelt at your enemy, pummeling your opponent, and anyone unlucky enough to be stood nearby, into the ground. You are such a windmill of limbs that any enemy within range is likely to get hit.

A combination of attacks with debuffs and mez, to signify that Fighting Dirty is all about getting the upper hand, whatever it takes.
    The much requested Headbutt.
And a lvl 32 that is a bit like Shield Charge, only a targetted AoE, most likely a slightly smaller radius. The original idea was to do something like Chain Induction, but that would probably be too damn hard to pull off, teleporting multiple times around the mob.

All in all, I dont think Fighting Dirty is a write off, and can be used against any opponent, the same as swords, maces and longbows still are.
  16. I still haven't got to the end of the VEAT story arc yet. I do tend to mostly use it for curiousity sake, and for missions in general. I have my own story that I make up for my characters anyway.

I dislike the HEAT stories just as much. Well, t'be fair thats not accurate. I hate the missions. Why?
Whatever goddamned bright spark decided to give PBs VAHZILOK, god damned freaking zombie puke monster VAHZILOK as the first enemy group should be taken out, kicked, kneecapped and shot.
Seriously, when you don't really start to gleam () until the 20+'s, giving PBs Vahzilok at low levels is nothing short of stupid. Teaming make them possible, but they are hell to solo, even on 0/0 diff.

Why? Hard hitting toxic ranged damage and slow effects. Zombies that die fast but hit like a freight train. Oh, and the LTs can rez zombies.
I still hate the Zahzilok most at low levels. Not hate as in broken hate, just hate to the point where I grin while killing them in teams and suchnot.

The trick with SoA's is to go for the combo killer.
Lvl 1 - Pummel. It stuns SO much its fantastic, same damage as Single shot and quicker to fire.
Lvl 2 - Burst. It hits hard, its good.
Lvl 6 - Wide Area web nade. The first combo move.
Lvl 8 - Heavy Burst. The second part of the combo for now, but then moved to third.
lvl 10 - Maneuvers. Defense. Nuff said.
lvl 12 - Venom grenade. The true second part of the combo, used on web naded mobs. -Res
Lvl 16 - Frag Grenade. The finisher. If it hasnt been shot to shreds it gets fragged into next week. Anything that survives the Combo then gets picked off by Burst or pummelled into the dirt.

Like a slightly more aggresive AR/Traps blaster, really. With more armour and defense.
  19. I do disagree most heavily with people who say you need bind on Triforms.

I have four trays. Human form stuff on top, then Nova and powers, then Dwarf and powers, then shields, sprint, jump pack and rest on the bottom as normal. Works fine for me

    Woh....really didn't expect this...
Although I shouldn't actually be surprised.

On-Topic, the original point is now moot. Some people enjoy EATs, some don't (either type). I have finally reached the turning point for my PB, and can start to enjoy her, and may well roll a Warshade in future (altitis I tell ye! )
  22. -The hunt mission you skip will lead to either ANOTHER hunt or a talkie.
-You wont have an inspiration drop until AFTER you needed it.
-You will ALWAYS die jsut as you fire Dull Pain, meaning it needs to recharge but you got no benefit from it (Damn YOU, slow animation time!!)
  23. BaBs, can we be allowed to actually shoot at the shooting range targets, please?
It's really really annoying to have them there, be targetable and in range, and then it says 'Not in Range' when trying to shoot at them.
I mean, this is with a sniper power. What?!
  24. Allow us proper control over customised standard mobs.
Let us save them as files, let us set the level range and let them damn well spawn alongside custom mobs, not be bugged into non-existance.

I spent a very frustrationg hour trying to fix an arc I was very happy with.
  25. Illogical arguement is illogical.
