I want Atomic Nuke Melee first. Everything you touch turns into an atom bomb and kill all things in a 100 yard radius and anything left standing gets 10k Damage over 10 seconds.
**Including Team Mates** -
I see that for some of your resistance powers, you slotted Reactive End/Rech, Res, End/Rech/Res, and the End one. Try switching to End/Res, Res/End/Rech, Res/Rech, Res ones.

Because the Sky is blue and the devs hate Master Minds.... >.>
Just hasn't happened. Give it time, it will happen eventually, maybe they will even buff Sonic in the process. [Sonic Repulsion] anyone? Who in the world thought that was a great power? -
2 A-Merits, then you can even pick the level of the IO.
-
Think you meant the buff from BF is smaller than Empower. Empower basically gives you a +10% damage buff, on top of the +30% damage buff that Blinding Feint gives. Not sure about the to hit... because I hardly ever really care about to hit....
-
DB/EA is a nice combo, IMO.
Scrappers benefit more from +dam than Brutes.
DB/Elec Armor and /FA is nice with the Damage Aura. DB/Invuln is a good combo and the +to hit of Invincibility helps with combos in the lower levels. Grab Aid Self and you will be hard to kill and do great AoE and ST damage.
SR's Practiced Brawler mez protection can be annoying, especially when you have hasten as well. Just noting. WP can also be decent so I've heard, never had much success with WP. -
Also, to help other people in understanding you, please use 'setting a power to auto' instead of permanent. I don't know about any one else, but when I read your tittle, I thought "He/She/It found a way to achieve Permanent Power! Just by Control Clicking the screen! :O"
-
Same as every comparison between Brutes and Scrappers.
Scrappers:
+Higher damage
-Lower HP cap, res cap
Brute:
+Higher HP cap, res cap
-Lower damage
PvE:
Any Brute can tank, they get taunt, Scrappers get stuck with [Confront]. Once they get fury up enough, they can put out decent damage.
Because of a lower damage base, DB's Blinding Feint doesn't help as much on Brutes as it does for Scrappers.
PvP:
Because of needing to build fury, they won't do as well in the hit-and-go PvP that is standard in CoH, Scrappers will come out on top there. Also, higher caps mean nothing in PvP because Diminishing Returns makes everyone suck (yay balance).
But as far as DB goes, Criting on 1k cuts is just amazing. Other than that, it needs combos to do good damage, and you cannot do that in PvP.
Farming:
DB is ok for farming, it has good AoE. Not going to be the best, but I enjoy mowing down things on my DB/EA Brute. Prolly kill faster on a Scrapper. Especially if it was paired with FA or Elec Armor.
Soloing AV's:
Brute just won't be able to put the damage out, tried it on my DB/EA Brute. Might be possible, but will take FOREVER.
Scrappers... Yes, DB can solo AV's. Blinding Feint->Attack Vitals for the poor man's attack chain can do it. For better, faster results Blinding Feint->Ablating String->Sweeping Strike is better. Put the AH proc in AS and the PvP-res proc in SS.
**Edit**
Kenteko. My DB/EA Brute easily achieves the BF->Attack Vitals chain with only 40% recharge + Hasten.
Much harder to get SS to recharge in the animation time of BF->AS. Which is 1.452 + 1.188 = 2.64 second recharge, starting with a base of 11 seconds recharge equaling a 240%% recharge if my maths are correct. (99% recharge can be easily gotten with recharge enhancements in the power itself). -
Quote:SD being overused, having to have a shield on your arm, not being able to do Spines, Claws, DB, and Katana with it, changing your animations, a click mez protection that you have to refresh every few seconds to keep capped DDR (yes exaggeration, but again, I'm talking about how I feel about it , having to use a mouse to use SC (I game on a laptop often enough for it to be annoying), and did I mention over popular, all make me dislike SD.Meh, Shield Defense looks better still. More resists and -Damage, +Max HP boost that doesn't crash your endurance, AAO+Shield Charge>a bit of extra recharge, and frankly who needs self heals nowadays with IO's and Rebirth.
People can show facts, tell me I'm wrong, or any other thing. I realize this is really liberal, getting in touch with feelings, instead of cold, hard facts, but the reason I PLAY a game is for the feelings it instils within me. I just dislike SD (also WP... but that is another thread so please don't assume that all other sets are inferior just because you believe, feel, or even prove it to be. This world is infused with billions of different people, all with different views and opinions. There are right and wrong ones, but even people confronted with their wrong position will still cling to it. -
You see because you look. You find because you see. Look for benefits, and they will appear, look for problems and you will achieve them.
Doth thou forget that Brutes got a better ordered SR when it was ported over AND got a taunt aura, something that my Fire/SR scrapper desperately cries out for.
Doth thou also forget that some really great powersets were invented specifically for Villains? Cold Domination, Thermal, Poison, Energy Aura, Electric Armor.
The reason Hero's are getting 'blessed by the dev gods' is because Villains were blessed, many times over, before the Heroes. Oh how forgetful the young are.
****Some light-hearted verbage added to add a new flair to a horse-in-the-glue-factory-by-now argument **** -
Note: Most KB is below mag 4. Just about everything above mag 4 is mag 9. (Nemesis Staff, GM's FootStomp, Lord Recluse to name a few... Sooo, either settle for mag 4 for most content, or go for mag 12 for complete coverage. Mag 8 does nothing more for you than mag 4.
Also, best ST dps chain for KM is BB->SB->BB->CS->BB->QS. IIRC.... looks like something is wrong though.
Yay, more edits:
With FA as your secondary, you could prolly switch out the QS with a -res proced burn for extra dps. -
Frostfire is an EB that can scale up to an AV, as well as Ada, the Troll. They are usually EBs, but they can be spawned as AVs.
-
Yes, it grants 10% endurance to the target. In Speed Boost, AB, RA and all the other powers that will cast to team mates, it will have a chance to proc on the team mates. Only reason it works in Stamina is that Stamina is cast at you and hits you, auto hit.
-
I will let you know, since Siphon Life's heal is unresistable, the +heal bonus will not effect it, similar to how +heal does not effect Reconstruction or Dull Pain. The bonus actually acts as a negative -resist heal, which since Siphon Life is unresistable, the +heal bonus does nothing.
-
I bet it is a power set that focuses on Manipulating Time.
-
Maneuvers does not use enough endurance to warrant dropping it. It is worth the endurance for the defense it gives.
-
40% resistance to all is not worth the effort, even if its possible.
-
*Brute
I personally dislike Battle Axe. Energy aura is fun. Make sure to get your typed defense to 45%, preferably 50% with IOs. -
Quote:Not true. There ARE other options. You don't HAVE to commute for 25 - 30 miles, you choose to. Move closer, get a closer job. You could get a bike, use could use a bus, car pool. Just because you are not willing to consider the other options doesn't mean they aren't there.Pine, your analogy is pretty flawed.
If you commute to work, you MUST have gasoline. Unless your city offers a really good mass transit system that extends for miles for 25 to 50 miles beyond the city people have to drive to work. It is a necessity not a luxury which is why people pay what they have to get it.
It is unreasonable to expect a consumer to sink an oil well, build a cracking tower and refinery. I must assume that you mean this as a joke.
A better analogy would flowers. You need flowers to occasionally smooth things over with your lady. If you need them RITEnao, you go to the florist and pay a premium. If you can wait a little you can shop around and get a better deal. If you don't want to spend any money you can grow your own rose bushes. In the end, you have flowers just lots of ways to get there.
Let's say I work at a Restaurant (I do in fact). If the place I am working at, which is only 6 miles away from my house, descides that a better market is 25 miles away from my house, and moves. Am I forced to stay at that job? I could, it might be easier to spend the extra money on gas, or... I, heaven forbid, I could take the choice of finding a different job. You Choose where you live, you choose where you work.
Drilling your own oil refineries is a pretty drastic step, true, but it is still a possibility. So is paying some one to farm for you (RMT). -
Quote:Your doing it wrong. I can't speak for everyone, but when I farm, its because I want to. Not because I HAVE to. I play this game because I want to, not because I have to (though that might be debated :P). Farming, for me, should be easy, fun, fast and done while listening to heavy metal or watching a movie. Anything else is work, that I pay to get to do.The issue is that I don't have a farmer in the traditional sense and I refuse to make one (such as a fire/kin controller). So I use whatever level 50 I have at hand, which right now just so happens to be my tank. With that being said, AE farming is a very long and arduous process, boring too. However, I do farm tickets every now and then to keep my WW slots full.
Quote:As far as not wanting to wait or paying exorbitant prices? I don't think anyone wants to be paying 10 to 20 (or more) times the normal cost of anything.
Every person has a different 'cap' that they are willing to spend on things, real world and in CoH. If I got in my head that all purple recipes are only worth 500k, and all other prices are exorbitant, should I expect all others to kow-tow to my imagination and give me everything for 500k?
This thought and attitude reveals itself in the real world with gasoline prices. Everyone and their mother wants and needs it and expects some one else to get it for them. They complain when the prices climb, point at proof that the 'ebil oil companies' are controlling the prices when it falls. However, they are still willing to pay just about whatever the price is for it, because they 'need' it.
You could go drill for your own oil (farm) or find an alternate way of energy (use SOs, under bid, do lower level stuff), you can sit there and complain and keep buying what you want (keep doing level 50 stuff and buy at 'exorbitant prices'), or you can sit at home, never go out and moan about how expensive gas is (rage quite and then complain). Those are the options. Choose one, and enjoy the choice you chose
Quote:It's all well and good that some of you in this forum have the time to (snip snip... Drill for oil all the time ...), but for many of us out there we simply don't have the time to dedicate (drilling for oil that we once had). The only positive (is that _Insert_Personal_Hero_ is here to save us all) -
I believe Bill's 'The Results Are In' thread were before the Brute change, so the numbers might be off, but I still refer to it on occasion.
