If it's been 'dead' so long it fools people into thinking it's a new thread, it's necromancy.
You can always start a new thread and link back to the old. One trick is to hit 'quote' for the post you want to reply to, copy that data block, and then paste it into the first post of a new thread. -
Quote:In the time it takes to get Penny killed, the team could have used Assemble the Team to bring her to the door (and the person using it better be smart enough to put her right next to the door else she runs off to fight the Clockwork King) and then killed the Clockwork King (for a good shot at a Shard drop). My teams often sit the team leader next to LG in the first mission. You save at least 10-15 seconds over the Self-Destruct strategy!

The leader should watch the CK's hp and use Self-Destruct at about 10% health so that when the mission is complete, the leader can instantly pop to the hospital.
So... maybe you'll lose only 5 seconds.

Yes, they are hard... when I did them at even con.
Now that Praetoria had a difficulty adjuster, anyone who finds such things too hard should go to -1.
Is it too hard for you at -1? -
Your anger is justified.
There have been some teams that completed it without the MM's power, but few that attempted have.
Even with the MM's (and Defender's, now, with GR) power, it's easy for an unprepared team to get overwhelmed.
I'm surprised you didn't know this... it seems to be common knowledge now. -

Real Advice:
Farm moar shards!
srsly
You'll be glad you did. -

The only downside of confuse is that foes that can rez their teammates still do so even if Confused

Request:
Can we get a shiny metallic skinned version of the new animal heads and parts? They would make great robots or animal-shaped armor and helmets. -

Quote:I predict F2P in the next year or two. A good thing, IMO - it seems to work well for other MMOs.For games that weren't that good to begin with and were dieing, F2P was their death knell.Quote:And from what I've seen most MMO's that were forced to go F2P have gone in the crapper as the scumbags swarmed in to ruin those games communities.
For good games that just couldn't get a sustainable subscription base, F2P increased both the number of players and revenue.
Now, *there's* a solo path to Incarnation: $5 per Notice of the Well.

It's arbitrary. Stupid arbitrary.
But that's what happens when the powers get added over time piecemeal by different powers Devs.
Some powers work while hovering, some require you to be grounded.
Some summons can be summoned in the air, some require the summoning reticle to be grounded.
Now, mix and match the two randomly.
My Necro/Dark MM can summon the Dark Servant in mid-air hovering. But has to summon MM pets onto a surface. And has to be grounded to summon the Vet Pet.
Makes. No. Sense.
And it's been brought to the Dev's attention before. It's just not high priority to standardize. -
Actually for soloists, once they do Ramiel's arc, any foe defeat, whether at 50 or exemplared will drop Shards once I120 goes Live.
Although, I can see them limiting it such that Pet or Underling rank foes or foes at -1 or lesser level compared to you don't drop Shards to prevent silly farming tricks. It certainly won't be like Tips.

Quote:I'm assuming it's unfinished. When Ninja Run was in Test, it got several passes to improve it. Even after it went Live, there were more tweaks which vastly improved its look.Subjective Feedback:
After sleeping on it, Beast Run still feels very unfinished to me.
That's why it's on Test now, for feedback to polish it up. -
Why doesn't it have Wolverine and Spider-Man and retell the origins?!

Quote:And yet folks keep getting sucked into trying to reason with that irrationality because Eiko-chan, to his or her credit, doesn't use the crazy and inflammatory language that most people who take an irrational and fringe position normally do. However, a moderated tone does not equal being reasonable. So you want to be able to do what only the most high-end, well built characters can do, arguably something the devs never really even intended, but you don't want it to be any harder to get to that point that it was from going from 49-50.
You refuse to do things that would make it easier because you are applying some kind of real-world moral framework to a video game.
You seem to think it's selfish/wrong/evil/mean of the majority to not want to acquiesce to someone that is just flat out refusing to play more than a subset of the game.
You have painted yourself into a corner case that it would likely take significant development time to accommodate while, arguably, a large portion of the player base seem to be enjoying the game as implemented, if only from the pretty lights on the login screen for the servers.
You are anti-'anything beside punching dudes the face' it seems, yet you want to rewards for nothing more than that.
Your arguments range from "it's all about the evil extroverts" to "this is not what MMOs really are" to "my real world principles won't allow me to play that way."
In a couple posts I have seen, even going so far as to imply the way the business world that revolves around producing the income needed to continue development on the game itself is 'wrong' and that you cannot see any thing that 'justifies' why the business would run that way.
Really? You really think that is a reasonable, rational outlook? Really?
Most MMO's end-game is hard-core (grindy, long hours, complicated system) and large scale (raids with dozens of folk requiring precision timing). CoH's system provides the most casual friendly (simple, short play periods) end game one could imagine for an MMO. Then on top of that, if offers a solo option.
So, there's easy mode (raids) and solo mode.
Then there is this call for easy *and* solo mode. I predicted a while back that the moment the Devs give in and create a solo mode, there will be those who want it solo and casual-easy. And if the Devs ever actually gave them that, there would be calls for it to be even easier: "I want to log on, click a few buttons that set the direction of my PCs and then log in a week later and get the rewards of that offline progress!" It would happen.
That's why the Devs should not give in to the calls to make it solo and easy.
And if those unreasonable folks want to interpret this stand as saying, "Suck it, soloers!", and not understand how easy-and-solo end-game content is a bad idea for an MMO, then, by all means, they should indeed suck upon it. -
What, no Level Shift yet?

The Turnstile only exists right now to put together the new Incarnate Trials. That's it. That's all it does and will do for I20. It may perhaps be leveraged in the future for other stuff.
The new ITrials are for multiple teams, so, when you go through the Turnstile as individuals or as separate teams, once you get into the ITrial, you will be lumped into a League.
A League is a new Multi-Team window that puts all the teams together into one window. The Leader of the League can move people around to reform and balance the teams or to give them separate tasks within the ITrial.
OR... you can form a League outside an ITrial. You can then have the Leader of the League enter the Turnstile and take the whole League with them.
OR... you can form a League and do something else that doesn't involve the Turnstile at all. You can do a Hami Raid, a Cathedral of Pain Trial, a Zone Event (invasions, banners, winter's realm, Giant Monster hunts, multi-team PvP battles, etc...). -
Quote:No, not flipping... *crafting*.Oh, we're discussing flipping stuff on the market. I assumed you meant from drops.
Earn a Hero Merit by doing the Tips, or craft one from Merits you earned plus some Inf.
Then use 2 Hero Merits to buy one of the most sought after Rare IOs (LotG+Recharge.25 or Miracle+Recovery.20). Then craft it. Then sell the crafted IO.
Crafting is value-added reselling.
Flipping would be finding an item at a lower price and reselling that very same item at a higher price. That's speculation. That's playing the market.
Crafting is the economic equivalent of being a factory. You're producing wealth, not manipulating it. -
Rewards were turned off for the sneak peek, so, no one not in the Pre-I20 Closed Beta knows.
Being Pre-Closed Beta, such things are in such a state of flux, that any info leaked will surely be wrong by the time Live comes around. -
There's no such thing as safe trading, only safer trading.
