It was very easy to get these 3 badges, but I'd rather not. It's bad enough the devs removed the AE badges and did away with a lot of badges like this, I was very shocked to even see thee 3 badges.
If they make more of this badges, then I say bring back the other badges which were removed from the game and give them back to us.

Please, please, please for the love of all that is shiny related, don't say it was easy just because you were able to get it under 2 weeks. For some of us it's going to be a long ride of a grind fest.
And no, no more badges in this tree. Having to grind for 50 runs is bad enough as it is.

Well considering the Kahn only takes 20 minutes to complete, yeah it was very easy
Not to mention between last week and this weeks weeklys, I was able to stock up over 2,000 merits on my main which I haven't played in a very long time, other than badge hunting. So yeah this was a huge plus for me and will remain to be a plus in my book.
We've been talking about Weekly TFs with double reward bonus for a very long time within our SG and when this was announced, we loved it! I think its the best thing the devs have added in a very long time, incarnate system aside, this is fantastic. The incarnate system is just a plus for me, and I'm on my way to unlocking each of the trees that way I can switch to whatever I may need depending on the situation
But yeah I agree, no more of these badges, its pointless. And if they do add more, no biggie as I plan to run a ton of these on my main regardless.

1. Yup, the mechanics of the badge are easy: Team for the WSTs, and you'll get the badge eventually. No elaborate farm setup to do, "just do it".
2. You get considerable rewards doing it as you go along that benefit you, especially for Incarnate use - and it doesn't go TOO fast to where it makes the process pointless. There's no lose factor here.
3. 50 "is enough". To do more really doesn't accomplish the intention of the setup: To give people incentive on working towards incarnate builds.
...and if you want the AE badges to be brought back, I want 'em all brought back. XD (Still sore about Dev Choice being removed, while Bug Hunter stays in-game.)

The overwhelming majority of Kahn TF's do *NOT* get done in 20 minutes. It gives 30 merits. That means the median completion time was datamined at way the hell over 20 minutes (more like 90).

For the majority of the populus, I would agree, but my sg doesn't take that long. We set our records and try to beat them, this is also the fun part of these weeklys, our casual runs are between 30-40 minutes. I can't possibly see how a Kahn would take 90 minutes to complete. Unless you are defeating everything on every map, which is possible but I don't waste my time clearing every map.
|
But by the same token I think you'd also have to agree that most "normal" players are not going to have the free time to be able to run 52 TF/SFs in 11 days. Clearly to say your dedication to finishing these things as quickly as humanly possible is legendary is an understatement. All due credit where credit is due.
Please understand that you don't do yourself any public relations credit for your website when you come around to this forum trying to imply that being able to get that badge in 11 days is a "very easy" thing to do when there's a large majority of the playerbase that will take months to earn that badge even if they ever do. All I'm saying is that you come off needlessly "holier than thou" when you appear to have no concept of what the little people go through to earn badges.
Now before anyone assumes I'm complaining about you or this badge I have constantly claimed on this forum over the last few weeks that I have absolutely no problem with the 50 TF count badge. I feel it's a reasonable badge and hope the Devs manage to figure out how to give us other equally challenging badges in the future. As of last night I have managed to get 28 TF/SFs towards this badge on my main badger so I have no doubt I'll be done with it within a few more weeks. To each their own.
All I'm suggesting is to be a little more mindful of how you say things like this. There are enough people on this forum who think the 50 TF count badge is way too much to ask for and will only react to what you have to say about it as being a bit jerky about it. Just something to consider...

Lothic, you think I'm an *** about everything I say, so I won't try to retaliate on that. But I never said grinding out the badge in 11 days was easy, I said earning the badge was easy, just gonna take the casual player longer to get. 50 isn't as bad as most people think, it could have been much worse imo. I too felt 50 was pretty high, but considering the weeklys gave me something to do with my main, I went crazy! I earned the badge a lot faster than I anticipated as I was simply having fun running my main for something other than badges.
I was able to run my main with my SG and earn shards, merits..etc..etc while helping the SG members get all their characters the Notice of the Well, the next thing I knew the final badge popped. So after looking back at how easily I earned it and not thinking about how many I run a day, it was much more stress releaving than most of the people here on the forums claim.
My point here is, don't worry yourself about the actual count, just play your main and have fun and the next thing you know, you will have the badge

Yep I'm not worried about the count for myself. As I said I'm over half-way done myself. I'm just letting you know that there has been a good deal of whining about this badge on this forum already. Lots of people are apparently upset that 50 is "too much" for them. Just FYIing you that jumping in here to say it's "very easy" is not likely going to earn you that many more friends around here. *shrugs*

i figure ill prolly have the badge in another week or so, i havent been doing the tfs so much on my main because hes still full villain atm so has been limited to LRSF and cuda in the past 2 weeks
but since LGTF is the target starting tomorrow morning, ill be able to easily make a lot of headway on the badges (im still about 6 runs away from the 10 assist badge, but thats prolly also partly due to wanting to get notices on approx a dozen toons at a time lol, as of now i have about 6 lvl shifted toons, and around 12 toons with boosts and most all of them have 1-2 notices already to get them a rare or 2nd rare when they get enough shards)
i usually try to get these badges as soon as possible too, but not entirely for competitive sake, but because i just really like collecting badges, and with almost no badges for my main left to earn outside of vets, i get bored really fast if there arent a lot of badges
Back to the thread.
I switched from Khan to Cuda when I wanted a break from Khan. I averaged about 30 mins a TF. These were 90% pug groups and the worst ones were still around 45 minutes.
Khans are pretty quick and I got a good chunk of the badge taken care of this weekend. I could've finished it, but didn't want to get burnt out. By the end of this week, I should have the 50 badge.

Most of my Khans have taken 40-60 minutes in the last week. I have a feeling I'm going to hate WSTs effects on merit rewards.

On the other hand, on the other 22 runs since Tuesday, I would estimate the average time was around 30-33 minutes. We sped and stealthed everything we possibly could. The runs this week are not typical - particularly since the introduction of shards.

I'll log my "no" vote for more badges in this vein. I have had fun running the WSTs with my blue and redside badge toons, but I also play on a couple of static teams every week, and I enjoy doing other stuff like ITFs, non-WST T/SFs, regular missions, and playing lowbie alts.
As a result, after nearly two weeks, I have three credits towards the second (10-count) badge on these two toons. With the LGTF being the next one, and with me having a fair amount of time this week and weekend, I am hoping to get close to, if not earn the 10-count badges this week.
However, I'm probably going to find running 14 LGTFs in a week very draining and will probably only run next week's WSTs twice each. All told, I'm guessing it will take me until mid-summer to get the 50 count badges, and I don't relish a 100-count badge that would take me close to a year to earn.
(Sometimes, I wish there could be a Dev thumbs up button for quality posts, because you pretty much nailed it.) -- Ghost Falcon
First: Gratz to Beefcake and the others that got it. I'll have to wrap it this week as RL hit me with some speed bumps last week.
Second: I still say 50 is a bit much no matter how fast some of us are wrapping this set.
Third: We need no more of these badges.
I don't think 50 is unreasonable, but it's at the high end of 'reasonable' so I would agree we don't need any more. I gauge the 'reasonableness' against the other final epic badges (healing, influence, etc). Even with those having been reduced, I think most of them will take longer than the Partner badge.

It's actually kind of sad that I will never be able to adequately express to her what it means that I give up opportunities at badge hunting for the sake of spending time in her company. God I'm such a total nerd.
