An Update
This is good news. I am glad NCSoft is feeling the heat. They obviously underestimated us.
When they announced CoH is closing, they probably thought we'd complain, but nothing more would happen. Then, the Unity Rally happened, and they suddenly realized they were dealing with a coordinated effort to save the game. They tried to placate us, but it didn't work.
In fact, not only did it not work, in only fuelled us to push harder. Now NCSoft realizes they may have made a mistake. What will they do now?
I do not know what they will do, but I do know what I will do. I have been quiet in my support so far. I signed the petitions, I have a few of the Save CoH groups on my Facebook, but I have not been overly active in attacking NCSoft. That is because I am hoping they see reason. As the Nov 30th deadline approaches, I am preparing to take the gloves off.
After Nov 30th, my gloves come off, and I go full out. As long as I can log into CoH, I am keeping my dissent quiet. After the game goes down, the quiet stops. I will become much louder, and I hope others do the same. It is time to let them know we mean business.
Spin filtered through two levels of delusion, that's how I like to get my "news."
Yay?
So whats this mean?
Pancake yeah.
@Rien
I am Lord Omi. Now and forever. They can take our City, but they can't take me.
Thanks for the update GOlden_Girl.
Questions about the game, either side? /t @Neuronia or @Neuronium, with your queries!
168760: A Death in the Gish. 3 missions, 1-14. Easy to solo.
Infinity Villains
Champion, Pinnacle, Virtue Heroes
LOL I believe it proves Lincoln was correct when he said "You can fool some of the people all of the time"
I will just add this though, might as well get a complete story for those out there:

Fansy's source is correct. The reason that the game "must" be shut down before it can be sold is because of perceived legal problems and liabilities on the part of the NCSoft legal department. (It's not lawsuits or potential lawsuits with Marvel, but other issues regarding ownership). Apparently dealing with the Garriott case scared the whey out of them, and they are now jumping at imagined shadows. They won't even consider selling until it is officially "dead." The bad news: the game will close Nov 30. The good news: it can rise from the ashes. |
Is it true or not?
*shrugs* that is for you to decide on, I am not saying its true, and I am definitely not going to pushing this full board out there, but at least it *can* give a couple of believable reasons as to why stuff has happened as it has...
It might also be a reason as to why NCsoft were not talking about selling the game, or even the astronomical price that they might have been asking.
*shrugs* Anyways, back to your regularly scheduled thread.
1. Golden Girl is practically the definition of biased where saveCOH is concerned. She has no credibility.
2. Mercedes Lackey has also made false statements and exaggerations in this matter. She is also not credible.
So yeah. Spin filtered through two levels of delusion.
Cautious optimism here...
That said ... I still think Fansy's a cooq .. but that's neither here nor there. Maybe I just don't know them *meh*

Whatever - we're supposed to believe the core people will quit their new jobs if there is a chance at maintaining the game?
My new Youtube Channel with CoH info
You might know me as FlintEastwood now on Freedom
This is the latest we have from Mercedes Lackey and Brian Clayton, the Producer at Paragon Studios:
For those of you worried about the Paragon staff, they've managed to get jobs for about 60 of the 80. However...Brian indicated that if CoH rises from the ashes, he should be able to get the core group together again.
We promise we'll keep you as updated as possible. Meanwhile, as Rae said, continue the pressure. Brian told me that NCSoft is definitely feeling the heat over this, it took them completely by surprise and they are very much not happy about it.
