Since it's the end, might as well say it one last time while I can...
right.
then yeah, my error, I would have prefered he just /jranger instead of his usual replies then.

Well, the point as far as i was concerned was that it meant he disagreed with the post in particular, not just being generally contrarian to whatever the poster posted. The difference being that it wasn't who posted so much as what was posted.

August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.
This is houtex, aka Mike, signing off the forums. G'night all. - 10/26/2012
Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012

Yeah. JRanger used to post detailed explanations on why certain suggestions were bad and such, but eventually got tired of the effort involved (which was a lot around that time, so many bad ideas put out...) so he just started posting "no."
He just did.
Jranger would say no to any idea he disagreed with. Now, when pressed for an explanation of why he would provide one, but otherwise he would simply say no. In all the instances i recall it was always in reply to a specific post or point he disagreed with. |
The crazy part was he was banned for a rule that didn't specifically exist until after he was banned for it. Though not as bad as Grinnz, who was literally banned for no reason. The community team at the time could not find a reason behind why he was banned, it just sort of happened, but they refused to lift the ban anyways.
"the reason there are so many sarcastic pvpers is we already had a better version of pvp taken away from us to appease bad players. Back then we chuckled at how bad players came here and whined. If we knew that was the actual voice devs would listen to instead of informed, educated players we probably would have been bigger dicks back then." -ConFlict
Oh gods. Yet another reason for my contempt toward this board's mods. Such abusive behavior by them is one of the reasons why I never tattled on another poster for saying things I didn't like, or for drifting toward forbidden topics (gasp!).

Doom.
Yep.
This is really doom.
FPARN 'cause I could and dang it's nice to see you, Zwill..btw
True. It makes me wonder what would have happened in a full-on engine revamp.

That's the weird thing is that Koschej couldn't find anything on it. Usually, when someone is banned, there is a report filled out listing why, etc. Went over his posting history for the last two weeks and nothing, which wasn't surprising since Grinnz was probably as ideal of a poster as you could get. It was supposedly banned from one of the non-named mods (one with a number at the time) but with no report to follow up on, they wouldn't un-ban him.

Sorry to tell you this, but... NCSoft killed that, too.

In order to produce a CoH2 you are looking at at least two full years of development from that handful of material, without the dev team that made CoH1 as good as it is.
