How those 'cabals' in the link go about it, I can't say.
From what I've seen, the faction-less cabals are actually bigger gaming groups that span across many different games (for example, TSW, WoW, GW2, EVE, ...). Some, but not all, have cabals for each faction or no real cabal in-game, but do have a group chat channel. For the ones that don't have any cabals in game, they tend to do their planning, signing up, etc on a group website.

Why?!?!

My hubby and I started our own cabal because we don't necessarily fit into the "be nice, don't say anything abrasive, or curse, etc." that seems to be in the rules of every cabal I've looked at. While we aren't malicious, we are definitely not "politically correct". We find humor in everything including ourselves, pretty much nothing is off limits as long as it's not meant to hurt anyone intentionally.

So....I say be yourself. Those who like you will like you for who you are and those who don't can go **** themselves.

Anyways, we're Varrak and Pyppie on Daemon if you want to add us to your friends list so you can "let your hair down" so to speak (We can still team up cross-dimension if you're on Arcadia).

Are there separate volume controls for combat and dialogue? I'll admit that so far, I've not explored the UI all that much...
There are separate controls for music, combat sounds, dialogue, etc. It's in the menu under settings.

It's usually the first thing I have to adjust when starting a new game because mine and my husband's computer are in the same room too.

Wait wait, be nice, don't say anything abrasive, or curse? You don'y know my reputation here do you? Some people consider me the anti-christ, tho I think they're overreacting.

I just wondered if one was set up by ex-CoH players so we could easily keep in touch, develop our own versions of CoH events like Templar Tuesdays and where we wouldn't have to worry about conforming to what at times seems oddly enforced official forum rules.

We might even expand the sites forums to include other games like you mentioned that other CoH players migrated to like STO and the Paragon Fleet.

I'm going to be adding names to my friends list but I am a casual player and I keep odd hours cuz a lot of times I just feel too lousy physically to play. So one day I could be on for a few hours 2-5 am, a week later on 6pm to midnite, and two days later be on in the middle ofthe afternoon.

I don't think you're the anti-christ, although I remember a couple of arguments we've had. I think.

But as one abrasive poster to another, you're definitely abrasive.

lmfao! Well hello anti-christ, nice to meet you .

And, yeah, I've searched through many of the existing guild charters and there is always that "nicey, nice" clause in there.

I know in the SGs/guilds we've had, everyone joked around about any and every topic you could think of and nobody took offense because nothing was truly meant to hurt anyone. Plus, it doesn't help that I have a bit of a "potty mouth"...it gets really hard to try to hide that at times so being in those "nicey nice" groups makes it more like a job than a pleasure.

I know there was one for Templars and it's somewhere in the Newcomers Forums under CoH Refugees thread. Not sure of any others though.

You can add us if you'd like. We play sometimes during the day (when our toddler is napping) and evenings/nights.

Pyppie and Varrak

Thanks.

Ya know in all honesty I think it's the people that "dislike" me that I'm going to miss the most. They've provided me with years of laughter both in the threads and via hostile PM's they've sent me.

I've had people I ticked off dig thru thousands of my posts to find something to insult me about. They've dredged things I posted in 05-06 as if I'm going to care about something said in a 4, 5, 6 year old thread.

Oh and I miss the comments I used to get in the Rep system because I had my Rep disabled. Some people were livid when they saw they couldn't get any satisfaction watching my rep drop from neg repping me.

The only time I've ever reported a nasty message was when some bigot used the "N" word or anti-gay crap. We didn't need racists/bigots in our community.

Edit: Corrected a typo that was brought to my attention.

I wouldn't want to be in a cabal where members couldn't freely insult each other's mothers and accuse each other of bizarre sexual fetishes. In my old WoW guild that seemed to be the primary reason for the guild's existence.

If anyone is looking for a cabal, then check us out. We are a founding Templar cabal in Arcadia. Hammerfist clan is a multi-game guild with an active web-site and mumble servers. We are a casual adult guild.

I"ve played COH since the beginning and had dropped from VIP status to help get the TSW team started. My name in TSW is Lawrence "Law" Stone.

If you are interested, check out our website, or send me a tell in game.

Am I right in thinking you can team across servers? I seem to remember that being mentioned somewhere.

My characters and the few friends I have in the game are on Daemon but I'd really love to stay in touch with CoXers. (I have a spare slot I could use for a character on Arcadia) but I'd prefer to stick with the characters I have if possible while teaming with some fellow refugees.

Yes, starting server pretty much only affects PVP at this point to my knowledge.

You can easily team with people between Arcadia and Daemon.

For those that are having trouble understanding how to set up the auto-chat setup, here is an image of what it should look like at the end:

I don't have a Scripts folder as yours shows. My folders stop at screenshots.

However if I go into Data > prog, there is a "script" folder there. Is that the same thing?

Just create a new folder in that section and name it Scripts, then create the .txt files inside the new Scripts folder.

And I think I was the reason Snow made this screenshot.

Looks like the Server, Dimensions, and Forums have crashed at TSW. I can't log into anything at this time.

When I do get into the game I get told the Dimension is down, then I get booted to the Login and told the game couldn't authenticate my login and password.

When I go to the forum I have to login, but when I try to post half the time I'm directed to a screen telling me to login again.

The sale might be stressing them out. I know I decided now was the time for the free trial.

The forums seem fine I am reading the "Things I wish I'd known" thread.

The Dimension seems to be back up but they took my Funcom points and haven't yet delivered my purchases. I have a petition in on it now and I'm waiting to see what happens before I use the store interface again.
