Has VIP upgrading been taken off?

It's my understanding that the account server isn't accepting new transactions. Watching golden names turn white in weeks to come will be depressing.

I let my account lapse one time since freedom's launch and what got me back in less than a day was my limited character slots by not being VIP. I dread the idea of not being able to play out all my toons up until Nov 30th.

I just posted a topic about this. My sub rollover date was yesterday (specific time was last night). But I logged in this morning to find my VIP status remained. At least for the time being, it looks like subscription types are frozen and won't lapse.

Lucky. Mine went down a week ago, I waited to pay day to renew... and well we all know what happened I may never reach 50 and I've been playing off and on since 06c
Someone on the Player Questions forum mentioned a 60-day time card upgraded their account. Someone else mentionted applying an unused Retail Code (Architech Edition) upgraded their account as well.
There may be hope, and I'm just waiting for a few more responses before I buy up some myself off of Amazon.

I had a 90 day code which unfortunately could only be used for a new account. Applied it to a free account and it's VIP now. But I think you can't buy new codes.
I would suggest they make everyone's account VIP for the little time we have left. I was gonna renew this month. This sucks, been around for 6 years with multiple accounts and still didn't do everything I wanted..
my sub renewed on aug 25th for 3 month plan, so i will be VIP until nov 25th
I'm paid through like April of next year.
One person I know just re-upped three accounts for a full year.

Points, i cannot comment on... because the CoX model also included 400 points per month, there is probably no internal method of going by "what you used" if you bought points when you had "free points" in the bank.
*shrugs*
If someone bought $15 of points at the start of freedom, and aquired via subscribing another 8 months worth of points... but only just now spent 1000 points, how much money would they be refunded?
I sure hope that everyone becomes VIP...or at least allow me to pay for the remaining time that we have left.
I hope VIP is unlocked as well. As it stands now I am locked out of more then half my characters on Virtue because I only have 16 slots as a Premuim player. My payment lapsed two days before they made this announcement..
Keep forgetting about all that. I have ~10 days to run the iTrials at least once and wrap up the whole Praetorian story (the parts that we have anyway).

I have the great fortune of being paid up into next year. Yay me, money I'll never see again.
I just want any method to become VIP before the game ends. I want to go out in glory, not as someone who cannot access the majority of their characters, nor participate in all of the game content with my online friends.
