Maybe don't boycott NCSoft
Boycott is the only reasonable response I agree.
Boycott Ncsoft if they close down Coh.
I don't mean this to be as snarky as it's undoubtedly going to sound, I promise. But how about we not boycott anyone based on rumors? Some of us are diligently trying to save the game, and I really think that calls to boycott companies are not going to make any positive difference, and can only alienate us with companies whose cooperation we might need to keep City of Heroes up and running.

I know that my own enthusiasm for WildStar, a game I was looking forward to a lot, has taken a sharp downturn. Not because of any fault of it or Carbine, but because of the possibility that it might be just as abruptly canceled, before or after its launch.
Not a boycott. Just a loss of trust, and a fear that wasn't there before.

But it's like boycotting Fox because they canceled Firefly or NBC because they canceled Journeyman or Warner Brother's Batman movies because of the Schumacher films. You can, it'll just be a time when you run out of places you aren't boycotting to get your gaming on.

Aion - been playing for 3 years with a friend, could continue ftp no store buys, but I'd rather just sever it like a diseased limb
LOTRO - Lifetime sub there, I could go back for the Isengard and Rohan stuff
Oblivion - Never did finish it
Wii - the only thing I've done with it is watch Netflix
WOW - never tried it and it seems to have sticking power
CO - a friend has a lifetime sub there and I could join him
Tera - my brother raves about it
EQ - I could go back
DDO - I could go back
I don't need NCSoft. They do need my (and your) money. As for mine they won't get it for anything other than COH.

My son always asks me "why won't you play Minecraft? It's great!"...and I'm sure it is. But, why play it if I'm perfectly happy playing CoH, which I know I like? Why bother with a learning curve on a new game that I really don't have an impetus to play? Same goes for other MMOs (especially fantasy ones - I just am not into fantasy. Don't play D&D, haven't read or watched any of the LOTR trilogy, etc. Just not my thing. Well, though I did like the original Final Fantasy, I suppose). There's no draw.
If I wind up playing anything...it will be Civ IV. I've had that for ages and have never fully explored it (because I was playing CoH). Untold hours I can kill, right there.

I'm not suggesting that people boycott NCSoft. But I *am* suggesting that people avoid it.
Why? Because look at their stated goals: They plan to outsource all game development, and standardize on their source's games. Any game that doesn't meet that standard is going to get the axe, if not immediately then someday and soon.
Did GW2 conform to this standard? We don't know. Did Aion? Doubtful. We don't even know what the source developer for NCSoft is going to be, so we can't say what games in their stable might or might not survive.
Right now I am skeptical that ANY of the current NCSoft games will survive another year.
With that uncertainty in the air, I can't recommend trying or buying any NCSoft game. I was curious about GW2 but I'm going to give it a pass now. (The fact that you can't even buy it online is another worrisome data point -- if they were serious about supporting the game you'd think they'd get their online store right.)
NCSoft is no longer a reliable game publisher. Maybe it will be someday, after they've replaced all their games with their new standard engine. But for right now it's a publisher that just put out a big blinking light that reads, 'Stay Away!'

AION will still be running in a year. Lineage I and II will still be running in a year. GW2 will still be running in a year.
Nearly every halfway big publisher has done things in the past which as a gamer I haven't liked at all. But they are a business. They have an eye on the bottom line.
See my sig and join if you will. No singing Kumbaya, just fighting to keep our game.

Actually, I'm going to make rational choice to not buy any on-line game from NCsoft. They have an annoying habit of shutting down games with little to no notice. I can't trust NCsoft to provide entertainment value for my money.

Unfortunately, Dungeon Runners, Exteel (oddly), Tabula Rasa, Auto Assault and City of Heroes all are game that didnt appeal too much to the asian market. I still not sure why Exteel didnt fit there.
Don't misunderstand me, I think voting with your money is reasonable. However if you permanently boycott every restaurant you had a bad experience in you will soon have nowhere to go out and have dinner in. Well maybe that analogy works for me because I live in a small town with less than a dozen restaurants and the next nearest town is 10 miles away.
As time goes on we see the emergence of mega game companies who buy up studios, suck them dry and discard them like a carnivorous plant with flies. All I'm saying is if you start saying you will never again buy a game from <insert name> because the did <something you object too> you will soon end up only buying indiegames off of Steam or <shudder> Impulse (just because I hate Gamestop).

As long as it appeals to the korean market, they will not shut down games.

Which is quite a low thing to do, totally exclude other markets in favor of one. It actually reeks of two things to me.
Greed and racism. One for sure, the other is just a feeling, no actual facts to back it up.
Oh, I bolded and changed the color of the relevant statement here.
