Combine the Space Orks with the Borg, and you get the true face of the Batallion: The Grox.
Of course, it being Nemesis, the Battalion is probably Nemesis as well... but from when? Did Nemesis first wipe out all reality leading the Battalion... and then grow bored, so came back to stop himself... and then go back again to simply terrorize Earth?

"The problem," said Silos, "was that I could never find a chess player good enough to face off against me. Oh, not the board game... I mean the game of life and conquest that's fought across space and time. I'm just too good at it, don't you see? So I became my own worst enemy, in a very literal sense. And now I'm afraid I went too far, and I may not be able stop myself. Isn't it grand?"

Based on the description of them devouring wells and worlds, and the Shivans being the amorphous remnants of their Battalion-consumed homeworld, I kind of picture the Battalion like the Phantoms in "Final Fantasy: Spirits Within": a whole ghostly ecosystem based on every useful creature they've ever absorbed, from alien dragons and sandworms to more conventional troops and humanoid legions, perhaps all led/summoned by a Rularuu-like incarnation of the conglomerate wells who has to be killed to dispel the whole thing.
Although...
Actually that would be pretty hilarious, Ouroboros and Prometheus never talk about the Battalion not because they're frightening and beyond imagining but because they're something horridly embarrassing and no one believes them when they say it.

Well we just need [Temporary Power: Holy Hand Grenade].

It's Teletubies... huge freaking armies of Teletubbies, led by a GM-sized Barney.

Human souls are like Chinese food. No matter how many you eat your hungry again 30 minutes later.
Maybe The Battalion is a Nemesis Army created in the future, sent to the past, meeting up with the present.
The Battalion are already among us! They are completely invulnerable, and can push even the strongest hero aside with ease.
I really should do something about this signature.
I've repeatedly considered rolling up either an Empath/AR Defender or an AR/Pain Corruptor as a Space Marine Apothecary. Needless to say he'd refuse to team with any Magic Origin, Mutant Origin or non-human heroes (or at least he would if I role-played him realistically).

Still considering a Lightning Claws or Thunder Hammer + Storm Shield Terminator suited Tanker or Brute.
Or maybe an Assault marine as a Scrapper.

i hope the battalion has a new rig/model making it really alien and unusual. and yet, at the same time i want them to have really nice new costume pieces that we get in a special pack ^_^. but probs not both, huh.
or they could just be wolves and catgirls.
or maybe they're like, uber decepticons.
or maybe they're amoeboid, or maybe they look like faries. or maybe they're space dinosaurs.
O_O
Shhhhhh I have inside information on what the Ballion are and what they will look like. Follow this link THE BATTALION
DRAMATIC PAUSE ..... ...... ..... ......
That's right after traveling to the end of the universe the crew is affected by radiation and transformed from peace loving explorers into pure evil intent on ruling all of the known universe!
Don't stand there .. RUN FOR YOUR LIVES YOU FOOLS.. Miss Piggy is coming!

I'm pretty sure whatever the Battalion actually is, we're going to see necro'd heroes in I25/26.
Edit : In before it's cool. If Statesman died due to having his powers drained... why can his zombie use his powers? |

I've assumed ever since its first mention that the Battalion will be either faceless alien hordes with weird sort-of-biotech gadgetry and telepathy or militaristic, fascist-like humans in armor. Either of those is fine in the abstract, but the first seems awfully similar to the Rikti, and the second has been featured in the game many times in a zillion guises. If the devs come up with something else for the Battalion, I'll be really, really impressed!
Oh, and I predict right now that no matter what the Battalion is, exactly, people will call it "overdone" and "cliche" and "terrible writing." Maybe the Battalion will be copy editors.
