Top 3 Earth Controllers in the COX Lore?
Someone mentioned Faultline but thats in the past as I recall.

Aside from Faultline, I don't think there's any named Earth Controllers in CoH lore.

It is mentioned in their bios that the Ruin Mages of the Circle of Thorns were at one point powerful enough to level entire cities.
to TO THE END!
Villains are those who dedicate their lives to causing mayhem. Villians are people from the planet Villia!
There's also the Hamidon. While he's not an overt earth controller, he does have limitless hordes of rock monsters and manipulates landscapes like hot butter. He just happens to have other powers that overshadow his spire-making abilities.
For dark/nether based powers, there's anyone from Night Ward, Black Swan, Madame Bellerose might've been dark...
You'd be hard pressed to find a 'signature' character from either side, barring Faultline and Ghostwidow.
What kind of Earth Powers does the new Faultline have?
Are there any CoT mages that are big shots in any of the story lines?
I guess if worse comes to worse, I could use one of my own Earth Controllers as part of my little story line.
Grr .....
Thanks,
Lewis

The second Faultline has (at least) Fossilize, Stone Prison, Quicksand, Granite Armor, Stone Fist, Seismic Smash.
I should point out that with the PsychoChronoMetron being so interwoven with the first Faultline's story there's probably a lot of space in there to connect your character to him, even if he is dead.

EDIT: Simul-posting FTW.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
Faultline is more like an Earth/Earth tanker with the Earth Mastery ancillary power pool. Almost exactly, down to only taking the Granite armor shield. Ahem.
Maharaj, a Madness Mage, is a relatively big contact in Dark Astoria. There's also the Arch-Mages from whatever arc it was that they were from- they were on a mission map in the Shard? It might've been one of the taskforces.
Also, Hamidon. You could do something cool with the humans-turned-Devouring. Or a Quarry who was stolen away by a telepath or some Mad Scientist. Von Grun showed that it was possible with Devoured Pyriss.
Ravenstorm is a Martial Arts/Dark Blast character and of course you already mentioned Ghost Widow. Caleb also makes a lot of use of dark blasts (like all CoT ghosts).
For Earth Control there aren't really any Earth Controllers I can think of other than the generic Ruin Mages. Faultline and Baron Zoria aren't Earth Controllers but do both use Earth Control powers.
Thanks! I expect the new Faultline will suffice. I just need for my character to have witnessed an Earth Controller (or thereabouts) fighting against (or even simply conversing with/being in the presence of) a Dark Blast/Darkness type character, as part of his backstory. Needs to be possible in the present time.
So I will go with Faultline (II) and Ghost Widow.
Thanks!

If you want an obscure Earth-powered hero, there's Slate, a stone tank in the Eden trial.
Another obscure hero is Zenflower, who shows up in a Vernon von Grun mission about the Devouring Earth. I don't remember her power set.
There is also the Magma Master, from the Hollows, who may or may not have been fought as Koago of the Igneous.

Basically.
I had been wanting to make an Earth/Dark Dominator for some time, and when I found myself making the character, I just kinda clicked through "Magic" out of habit, but then I was like "man I should really do something other than Magic". So the idea popped into my head to play a character that had power Mimicry as a mutant power, and that the mutant power was diverse enough to copy any origin power. But of course, switching power sets on the fly isnt part of COX so I thought of the idea of having the first powers he was exposed to getting "burned in" or "locked in". I decided that the reason this happens is that the first power sources he was exposed to were epic/powerful/omega-class characters. So he got overloaded and cant ever change again.
Anyway, thanks for the responses. I would have liked for an epic class Earth controller to be in the lore, but Faultline II and Ghost Widow will suffice. Or I dunno, maybe the character witnessed a negotiation or tense stand-off between GW and a massively powerful Earth CoT Mage. I will think about it.
I appreciate all the replies!

There is Jane Tremblor (preatorian counterpart of Faultline) from Sutter TF who almost leveled Skyway
Going by lore, there's no reason to think Faultline is anything less than an omega-level Earth user, afterall look at what his Dad and Praetorian self did. The issue at hand is that he will likely never have a chance to really hang loose because, again, look at what his Dad and counterpart have done, I don't see him recreating that to arrest a street thug or cause mass death to the Rikti, it's just not very heroic.
Edit: This comes to mind.
I am the Blaster, I have filled the role of Tank, Controller and Defender

Woodsman is Earth Control, but maybe they plan to change that, since Plant Control wasn't an option then?
But still, Woodsman has Earth Control.

All,
I am planning an alt who needs to have a connection to a powerful Earth Controller. No, not YOUR powerful +4 shifted Earth/Storm controller. I mean someone in the lore. I am not looking for random CoT mages or DE casters/monsters. I am hoping that there are some genuine Earth Controllers of epic/signature/powerful standing that I can use in my origin.
Only, on the channel I frequent, nobody could really think of any. Slate was mentioned, whoever that is, but he or she seems to be weak. Terra was mentioned, but seems to me Terra was as much or more DE/Plant/Gross-nasty as anything else and Earth powers were secondary. Someone mentioned Faultline but thats in the past as I recall.
Are there any powerful Earth Controllers in the COX game Lore that one could build a character history around. I need someone of singular power, if possible, like on a Ghost Widow or Signature level. Hero preferred, Villain accepted.
Are there any?
As a side question, what are the top 3 Dark Blast/Assault characters in the Lore? I guess Ghost Widow is the obvious one, and she is the "other" epic/powerful character I need for my origin. But who would the next 2 most powerful (hero or villain) dark blast/assault characters be?
Thanks,
Lewis
