Scrapper vs Brutes.

Never thought suggesting a useful program that I knew lots of people used in the past would blow up like this.

As far as I know all herostats does is read your combat log and parse the data. That's it.

Evil_Legacy,

Ive been browsing the forums for a couple of hours now (cant sleep and bored ) and I have to see Ive seen your name ALOT, on all kinds of different threads and the one thing that struck me is ...

In almost every single one your being aggressive/argumentative/defensive etc
Its actually a little silly, you can tell this because I've taken the time to stop and comment about it.

The little fiasco from earlier in this thread about distrusting Mids, was frankly so ridiculous I currently suspect that you are a troll.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt, and some friendly advice. Try to chill a little man , at the end of the day its only a game and who cares if others dont share your opinion on a particular topic? If your happy with it the roll with it.

-Again this post is kinda ... odd to say the least but Ive seen your name in so many 'arguments/disagreements' in the last hour or so I just felt like commenting on it-

Now to try and sleep.

Peace. zzzzz

Well with the mids thing it could of been short and sweer like "Hey try mids." "Na, I dont like it for what ever reason." "Ok then good night."

Nope, it went to tryign to forcing down my gullet. Actually out my threads, you must clicked only on the ones that have lot of comments or just the problem ones. There are plenty where things go well. Three within the past couple of days, and about half dozen more prior to that and tanks vs brutes went well also. And some more prior to that. You must of only read only a few or the more populated one. I get aggressive is I'm being attacked, disrespected or when some bloke try to force some program upon me after I said no. It dont matter what my reason is, but if I say I dont like it feel like it, or hell, maybe I havea grudge against mids, but the point is NO means NO and unfortunately some people dont get that and thus yea, get rude with me, I'm sure as hell going to be rude back. Like I mentioned in other threads, I'm not just going to let peole be rude to me and then thank them for it as they wouldnt do it I came to their thread and was rude to them.

Either way, the newer posts now have disclaimer on it and most threads dont need any kind of "help", program tips or none of that nonsense so I guess this is dead and problem solved now. I guess in early threads I was very unclear of what kind of help I was lookign for thus I got anything out the woodwork, so that was my fault. Now on my new threads it is clear as day and anyone that even tries in any manner tries to pull that "help" crap is clearly just trying to troll as it is clear exacty what I'm looking for and not looking for. Especially with that herostat thing and any other shady looking programs out there. It could of ended very simple and easily if some people would have learned to take a simple no for a freaking answer. I dont try to force programs no matter how awesome I think it is, upon others and all I asked is that it is not forced upon me.

Certain people have a tendency to degrade promising threads into fights. You know, the aggressive "I'm better than others because I'm never wrong while everyone else is always" types.

On a more relevant note, crits are based on chance so I don't think going through one mission without crits is any more relevant data than going through one mission with only crits. As far as I remember, most attacks have a ~10% chance to crit (against anything where crits matter), so on average you get a crit every ten attacks. Sometimes you don't even notice all the crits if you are distracted or keeping an eye on something else, like surviving. Using logging tools for automation is your best bet here. When making a good comparison, you need to find the averages, lows and highs. Especially when fury makes your performance rather constant.

A mission where one gets all crits is much more statistically noteworthy than a mission where one doesn't get any. I'd run a second mission to be sure, and then file a bug report if it continued. I might still file the bug report on the first mission just in case.

Statistically noteworthy perhaps, but unless it is intended behavior I don't think it carries any relevance to a comparison between Scrapper and AT X performance.

Wouldn't the regularity of crits be intended behavior? If the crits are not firing off at the intended 5%/10% chance then there is a drop in scrapper damage. If it causes a drop in scrapper damage, then it changes how scrappers compare to other ATs.

That doesn't say my experience is that crits are not firing correctly Or I take the small sample size as evidence they are not.

But an obviously bugged (and so extremely bugged) behavior of Scrapper crits is a sign of Scrappers not working either as intended or as designed, and would thus be on the short list for most urgent fixes. As such, comparison between Scrapper and Brute performance while such a bug is in force is invalid in even the medium term.

For large sample sizes (thousands of hits), yes. For small sample sizes (a few dozen hits), no - getting zero crits out of 40 attacks isn't even noteworthy, and it certainly doesn't violate design principles (unless the designer fundamentally failed to understand what randomness is). Same for getting 10 crits out of 40 attacks.

Getting zero crits out of 4,000 attacks would be noteworthy and a problem if it happens with any frequency at all, but it should be borderline impossible for that to actually happen, unless something is broken somewhere.

It carries no relevance in AT comparisons, I think. It only carries relevance as a possible bug.

If it's not a bug and it happens to you, go buy a lottery ticket.
