I'd think that if there were really a significant problem with the Scrapper critical rate, someone like Arcanaville (who noticed the discrepancy between listed animation times and how long they actually took) would have noticed it by now. Most people posting here haven't noticed any issues, and I'm not only too lazy to bother but don't play Scrappers all that much because I prefer Brutes and Stalkers. |

Try having a higher difficulty than x1. Currently with the low number of enemies you're facing, its a statistically insignificant sample.

alright last one. Three tip missions. First one was too short. Second one about spirits and some captured Neville or something, and third is malta with Flame something or another. If this aint enough for now, then there is never enough and no point in me doing any more. so far the count is 3 from first one. Ironically no one posted much on second one, but my count is one. But this will hopefully work until someone who DOES know what they're talking about comes along....If I'm reading this thread right, and you're trying to find out how many foes you have to attack in order to get a statistically significant number, in order to calculate chance of criticals, you'd probably have to defeat thousands of foes. With 100 foes, the random number generator might have a hot or cold streak. With 1000, the random number generator is less likely to have a "streak." With 10,000 or 100,000 it's exponentially less likely, and so on....
If I'd paid more attention in Statistics 101 (or if someone like Arcanaville shows up), there's an actual number of foes to defeat that would result in a statistically significant result, accurate to 99.9% or something.
Or to put it another way, the fact that "4 out of 5 dentists recommend" that one brand of sugarless gum isn't statistically significant. If the gum manufacturers instead had said "We sent a survey out to every single dentist in North America, and of the 279,000 surveys that we got back, 82% of them recommended..." that WOULD be statistically significant. [There's also a 'sweet spot' number that someone statistically minded could determine. "If there's X dentists in North America, they'd only really have to send out Y surveys in order to get Z surveys back."]
I really don't know if the number of defeats you've got so far is "officially" enough or not. (Obviously, it's enough number-gathering for you today!) Hopefully someone can take the results and go from there.

Just a note - if you encase your text file with code markers ( [ CODE ] at the start and [ CODE ] at the end, remove the spaces between the brackets and CODE to make them work) It makes it display on the screen a lot easier to read as you get a mini-window within the message so it can be scrolled independently. You can manually add them in or select the text you want inside the code markers and click on the code tool at the top of the edit screen (its the # sign at the end of the formatting bar).

One more in that last batch of missions brings you up to 5 total. I am tempted to roll up an MA scrapper to do an actuall comparable test as that seems extremely anaemic to me.

Crits and scraps go hand in hand supposedly. In all no one that I know is lucky everywhere. Some people get good crit rates in game but no luck on job market. And I'm visa versa, never been unemployed but cant get a crit often to save my life. Luckily my life dont depend on it like a job does.

Or to put it another way, the fact that "4 out of 5 dentists recommend" that one brand of sugarless gum isn't statistically significant. If the gum manufacturers instead had said "We sent a survey out to every single dentist in North America, and of the 279,000 surveys that we got back, 82% of them recommended..." that WOULD be statistically significant. [There's also a 'sweet spot' number that someone statistically minded could determine. "If there's X dentists in North America, they'd only really have to send out Y surveys in order to get Z surveys back."] I really don't know if the number of defeats you've got so far is "officially" enough or not. (Obviously, it's enough number-gathering for you today!) Hopefully someone can take the results and go from there. |

Couldn't he run hero stats for a while while playing to track critical rate over a longer period of time, or does hero stats not work anymore? (I've never actually used it myself)

The point where Brutes pull ahead is aggro management and slottability. Brutes can offer aggro management pretty readily with damage and taunt...then comes the slottability. You can probably run a brute with 4-slotted attacks all the way up to 50 and excel...just slot for accuracy, endurance and recharge where needed. A scrapper is going to sink if he tries to get away with only 4 slots in all of his attacks. Basically, it's easier to play a brute as they fit easily into a team role and are simple to slot and play. Scrappers are a bit more advanced. Generally, I don't play Brutes that often if only because I'm not the kind of person to chase fury. It's different from chasing defiance...on a Blaster, you really do feel good when you get that saturated soul drain, high marks in defiance and blowing things up left and right...just having high fury is...sort of regular. There's a difference in fury vs no-fury but it's more like 'no-fury = you're going to suck' whereas a blaster without defiance is still going to own. I still play brutes but it's mainly concept. Some fighters are just brutes and others are tankers and others are scrappers or opportunistic stalkers. That's how I'd choose what to play.

One more thing to consider is the use of damage auras (if that's the route you're going). Fury does wonderful things for a Brute's damage auras that just can't be matched by a Scrapper's. So keep the logs saved for this character for a few weeks, open a bug report, and attach the file(s) to the report after it's opened (or file it through the support website and attach it then).
I'd think that if there were really a significant problem with the Scrapper critical rate, someone like Arcanaville (who noticed the discrepancy between listed animation times and how long they actually took) would have noticed it by now. Most people posting here haven't noticed any issues, and I'm not only too lazy to bother but don't play Scrappers all that much because I prefer Brutes and Stalkers.
