I24: Fix everything? Does that include Weapon Customization?

That too. When BABs and his crew first worked on power customization, the workload was so great that they had to pick their battles. It is for this reason - he explained - weapon sets were not given custom effects: They already had customization options and so resources were spent elsewhere. What BABs explained back then was that this being only the first step of power customization, this would probably be done for weapons at some later point.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, we're overdue. Weapon effects are hardly very graphics-intensive, consisting mostly of swing arcs and a few larger particle effects. Axe, Sword, Mace and Katana only really have one or two special powers each, Assault Rifle is mostly muzzle flashes and fire effects that have already been customized for the various fire sets, Archery needs a selection of arrows and so on. I can see Dual Pistols presenting a problem since the effects of the powers change based on the status of Swap Ammo so I'm willing to give this one a pass (and even then I can see customizing at least basic non-swapped per power shots and then swapped shots whole-sale), but the rest really ought to be done.

I guess at this point I'm just happy we're getting pool customization so I can hold out for this, but I also fear that once this round of customization is done, we may never see another ever again, at the rate this studio is moving on power customization issues. I don't mean to sound ungrateful - I'm throwing a party when pool customization comes out. I'm just worried, is all.

We asked about this a long time ago and i think the answer given is that we won't be getting that since the Spider powers are not actually direct claw/mace power ports and they want different weaponry attached.

That's not quite accurate.

The issue with Widow claws is they are animated, not static (blades shoot out, projectiles are fired etc). Thus, they fall under Power Customisation, not Weapons. Spines is the closest analogy.

Maces are a bit different, the main thing is the beam firing animation. The non-arachnos maces aren't designed to line up with the beams, so you can end up with beams coming from empty space. (some are also simply too short.)

Having said that, Arachnos Soldiers do get the Elemental mace, Celestial mace (which is just an axe held backwards), Celestial rifle and Mecha rifle. I think the policy on designing new weapons has changed to emphasise compatibility.

I always thought the Crey Pistols could be a nice little unlock for DP if they bothered to earn that surpassingly worthless crey pistol accolade. Also I wondered why they didn't have the Resistance's pistols with the cool LED lights on the sides...considering DP came out with GR!

Sadly enough in the age of Freedom I doubt we'd see them doled out for free anymore.

I would be sufficiently happy if we went the other direction then, and made Arachnos maces an unlock for War Mace characters.

While it would be nice to have more weapon options, I think the only thing that might qualify as a "fix" is adding the ability to customize weapon sets' FX. Since we can do so with Beam Rifle, Titan Weapons, and Staff, it would be nice if we could get that feature on all the other weapon sets too: Claws, Katana/Ninja Blade, Dual Blades, Broadsword, Mace, Axe, Pistols, Rifle, Archery/Trick Arrows, Mastermind Robotics Beam Rifle (and Thugs Pistols). I'm probably missing a couple.

I'm not mentioning Widow or Soldier powers here because the devs have already said on the livestream that there is no ETA for Epic AT customization.

But I am all for more options of any type, and thus I agree with all the calls for more weapon options. (I for instance desperately want the "Longsword" option(or ANY European-style straight sword) ported over to Katana, and have posted as much before. Ever since we first got the ability to customize weapons, I've wanted that option...*longing sigh*)

My search-fu is failing me, but I distinctly remember a Red Name saying that there was no Rularuu Titan Weapon model in the pipeline and that the Purgatory Sword was similar to what one would look like.

Granted, this was a while back so their stance on the issue may have changed.

FWIW I would love to see a Rularuu TW model. I love the Rularuu weapons!

Oh yes. Now I know what we need: An Emu for Robotic Arm 3. Possibly to go with an Emu Assault powerset (does bonus damage vs chat-show hosts).
