Coffee Talk Summary?
They tried it on beta when they first allowed travel powers to be taken without prerequisites. It made Tough and absolute no-brainer pick for EVERYONE, but especially all melees.

And Boxing/Kick is still going to be a waste/set mule power for most people.

Luckily, the important bits tend to drift onto the boards.
Goodbye may seem forever
Farewell is like the end
But in my heart's the memory
And there you'll always be

Have they actually confirmed that you still need to pick up a T1 and T2 power before a T3? Or are you guessing?
I'm not sitting though video. Text is the medium of the future.
I really should do something about this signature.
*****, complain, argue, throw a fit, and accuse the devs of this change being a slap in the face.

People can call me old-fashioned all they want - I can handle that, because I AM.
"She gives my ex-wife a run for the money."
You always could do that, by taking Boxing and Kick.

And by 'without tough' I meant you can pick Weave with only 1 power picked instead of 2 as it requires now.
It was confirmed in the video, they work like epic pools. T1/T2 powers are available from the get go, T3/T4 powers require 1 power pick, and T5 requires 2 picks.

Make it text and I'll look at it. Video is a cumbersome and largely inefficient way to spread most of the information that comes out in these Coffee Talks.

It's Zwill's super power. To stretch a 5 minuet presentation into an hour.
I enjoyed it more when it had tangents.
Something witty and profound
The frustrating part is that the stuff I'm most interested in hearing about is the stuff that they only gave a passing mention to (Sorcery and new non-trial Incarnate stuff), and I had to sit there and listen for a full hour just to learn that they weren't going to talk about what I actually wanted to hear about.
It's all the more disappointing because last week's Coffee talk heavily implied that they'd go into more detail about Sorcery this week, and.. they didn't. When it was brought up, they bascially said "Yup, Sorcery", and immediately changed the subject. They spent less time on Sorcery and Incarnate stuff combined than they did on, say, German beers or wacky forks.
I'm sure there'll be plenty of text-filled patch notes to read once it gets closer to release, but this trickle of information spread out in an hour-long video is still a little frustrating.
Well we could see i24 hit Beta soon with next week's coffee talk being on Logitech mice rather than stuff to do with the game.
The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

In fact they gave the old company line "it doesn't exist yet" or "it still hasn't been officially announced yet," a line they kinda repeated AGAIN this week.
AKA, lol WUT?!!
Blazara Aura LVL 50 Fire/Psi Dom (with 125% recharge)
Flameboxer Aura LVL 50 SS/Fire Brute
Ice 'Em Aura LVL 50 Ice Tank
Darq Widow Fortune LVL 50 Fortunata (200% rech/Night Widow 192.5% rech)--thanks issue 19!
Its great that we can pick weave without tough.
Big revamps for the builds of most of my characters.
Also, minimal FX for hasten.
Builds are going to get really tight! We need to be lvl 60 with powers at 52,55,58 and more slots
Uh I saw last weeks. No way in any shape or form did they claim they'd be talking about sorcery.

So I thought that, you know, we'd get information the thing that they specifically said they'd talk about soon long before we'd get information about the thing that they specifically said they weren't going to talk about at all.
So, I guess for future reference, I should keep in mind that "we'll tell you about it soon" means "we're not going to say anything at all for at least two weeks", and "we're not going to tell you anything about that" means "we'll tell you about it in a few days".
Or in other words, lol WUT?!!

Okay, going back and checking, Zwillinger didn't say anything about not existing yet, he explicitly said they'd talk about it "soon". Meanwhile, when asked about power pool customization, they said "we can't talk about that".

"I can't talk about it" means "its supposed to be a surprise".
It's very unlikely Sorcery is part off issue 24. It's clearly a commercial thing, so it will be released via the market, AFTER issue 24 is live.

I like the change to the prerequisites for the power pools, because that changes builds a lot, and makes room for other powers.
I do question the usefulness of an AoE placate, but Field Medic looks like an interesting power.
I like how they int towards there being new upcoming IO sets that solve that affect non damage powers. Check at 35:50

Also there's a bug someone reported about combining the Ragnarok Proc with the Overwhelming proc...it's causing KB
They added what they're calling "Synergy" to the Fighting pool where when you own any o the attack powers, the other attack powers gain a bonus to their effectiveness.
If you use Boxing and also have Kick, Boxing will get a 15% bonus to it's damage, and have a higher chance to proc it's stun. Likewise if you use Kick and also have Boxing, Kick gets a 15% damage bonus and have a higher chance to knockdown your target. The new 5th power, Cross Punch, gets a similar benefit.
These bonuses stack, so if you have all three attacks and use Boxing it gets a 30% damage buff (15% from Kick and 15% from Cross Punch) and has a higher change to disorient, and gains a debuff (I forget what kind) from mhaving Cross Punch.
Additionally, all of the power pools are having their level requirements and power prerequisites restructured.
With regard to the Fighting Pool, that means you can pick up Boxing or Kick as normal, then you can get Tough OR Weave at level 14 as long as you already own 1 other Fighting power. Then at level 20 if you have 2 other fighting powers you can get Cross Punch. So you no longer have to spend 3 power picks (Boxing/Tough/Weave) just to get Weave, you can do it in two (Boxing/Weave).
I really wish I could just get Tough and Weave, and skip Boxing/Kick, but what can ya do?
I don't see a 30% dmg buff actually making boxing/kick useful to use, but I still love them anyways for the set bonuses. IIRC, all my toons have boxing slotted anyways with KCs for S/L Defense, and 1 that has it slotted with makos for ranged defense. On the other hand I might be able to skip tough on some toons that have other means of slotting resist sets so I can still get that 6% defense from steadfast/glad armor, my corrs/blaster especially since they can run resist shields and then give up tough to make room for snipes/nukes which are getting buffed.
Oh so much mids work to do.
