Dear Paragon Studios,

I'll be honest when they first announced COH Freedom I was optimistic but worried.

But with all the funds you guys are apparently getting from it, and all the returns we've been seeing (and will be seeing) . . . I have to say . . .

You guys are on a roll!

From,
A seriously impressed veteran player!!!!

So many new powersets...even if I only get one every few months to my liking, I'll still be making alts for years. Seems strange with the (seemingly) reduced revenues that we are getting so much new stuff.

(Not trying to be doomy, we are just getting a TON more stuff with the F2P model than we were with the straight $15 sub. Either those extra dollars are funding these goodies and keeping employees afloat, or there's a slush fund at Paragon Studios that War Witch is handling with extreme care.)

Late last year I was getting a lot of "wait till I24/I25" responses from the devs on a whole variety of topics. I was beginning to think "wait till I124" was Paragonese for "stop bothering me" but apparently I24 does in fact have a gigaton of various changes.

And they are not done announcing things yet. As Zwillinger said in another thread, these are just the things Marketing can't really hype to anyone but the veteran experienced players.

/salute to the devs.

I've yet to get any online time to even try the summer blockbuster-- and I'm taking a long hiatus from incarnate play -- and still haven't gotten any of my purchased-powerset-characters past level 20-- but I've still never been happier with the game.

I have to say, I think I might love this game more than I should. As I typed my coffee talk writeup I was so incredibly excited to see all the new stuff and new changes I noticed I had an elevated heart rate and my hands were shaking.

I really do love this game. It's how I de-stress, it's how I have fun, and it's what keeps me from going nuts after 8 hours at the office.

I wish to add to the love. I am on a players high and have to throttle myself back, thinking, "you have plenty of time."

Then my id pops up to say, "No you don't *new powersets are coming.*"

The improvements are quite glorious.

Wait, what? When did they mention this?

I still want to see the Clockwork fortress that somebody pitched. That idea was just amazing.
Brilliant, just brilliant. I just wish it could be made.

I just have one thing to say: If you do NOT ship at least one set of Depends for VIP subscribers for the day that they fully announce what is in I24.....I'm going to be disappointed.

It sounds like i'll need a fresh pair of underwear when it's fully announced.

Definite thumbs up on what we already know of I24!!!! And, yes, i've really liked the direction the game is going as well.

I don't think they ever did, but yeah, King's Row's textures are fugly compared to just about anything else.

Yeah, way back when, I expressed a lot of concern over how CoH:Freedom would be handled. I really think they've done a fan-freakin'-tastic job with it. I have to admit that a small part of me was worried that they would throw a bunch of stuff at us to begin with to convince us it's all rainbows and unicorns, and then as things settled down, we'd be getting less and less until we were basically getting the same stuff as before but having to constantly pay for it through the nose via microtransactions.

Instead, we're almost a year into it, and we're still getting boatloads of stuff. I have yet to go a week where I thought, "Well, THAT'S totally worthless," and some weeks I've been giddy as a schoolboy. I won't deny that I've paid through the nose for Paragon Points, but holy crap, It's so much better than the snail's pace of having to wait months before any new shiny was available.

I know some people still don't agree with the CoH:Freedom philosophy, and it really could have been done badly. In my opinion, though, it's been brilliant, and my initial qualms are all but completely gone.

We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)

I hope it doesn't turn into a new Atlas Park.

Honestly, though. I24 is shaping up to be a lot of fun. They seem to be addressing a lot of long-standing, really rotten problems, and that's always gold in my book. You don't have to keep adding new stuff to a game to expand it. Un-sucking old powersets is pretty much as good as making new ones.

I'm glad to see a positive thread manage to stay on the board for a while. I concur, for the most part. I think they are doing a great job.
