New ATs
As much as alot of people seem to be sick of all things Prea..I still like it. Some ATs from that world might be the easiest to fit in..since things like the PPD are stepping on Khled toes.
I do like the idea of a Rikti-fied AT, perhaps with the progression from Human to Lost to Full Rikti, give new powers along the way.

If Masterminds didn't suck, they'd be the most powerful AT in the game.
Both Blast/Armor and Melee/Support can be made with Arachnos Soldier ATs.
Unfortunately, those ATs are tied to a highly specific concept and can only be started in one of the three starting zones. Ideally they would take the concept of the Arachnos Soldier, broaden the concept with multiple powersets, and make them available to all three zones.

GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Personally I've always wanted to see a Support/Assault or Assault/Support AT.

Cause that sounds really close to Defender And Corr, as the assault sets have lots of ranged (set depending). Or are you looking for like more melee oriented (manipulationish)
I would expect another AT within the next year? Powers are one of their best selling items. A new AT could have 2+ new powersets. I also wouldn't be surprised if it was a hybrid of sorts, capable filling some of those rolls listed in previous posts.

Don't hold your breath on EATs. They seem to be severely out of favor with the dev team, unfortunately. At least that's what I get from their various comments.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

On the topic, the only suggestion i'd make for new ATs is that they don't marginalize other ATs that share power sets.
For example, I want a melee/support AT but don't want to eek out corr or def as a source of support and damage. So expand the AT sideways and give them decent self survival like masterminds are. Rather than giving this new AT really low mods for support, just don't give them every support tool. In exchange, give them armor to sustain themselves in close range.
Similar with a ranged/armor AT, they shouldn't marginalize the rangers, but don't give the AT crappy mods to keep them in check, just reform their playstyle in some fashion as a compromise instead.
OK, decided to try to make a generic melee/support AT powerset. This would use Arachnos Soldier as a balancing template, using mostly exisiting powers (to reduce developement time). I'm going to call this set the Warden AT, after the 4e D&D melee/support class. The support powersets would be some combo of armor and buffs/debuffs, with controller-level effectiveness.

You mean that thing we don't know about and is rumour on account of people not knowing about it? *COUGH*

*cough**cough*
I already have a ton of feedback I'm bursting at the seams to give on it, but alas "I don't know what any of you are talking about."
Yeah it would be nice to see some new ATs released. I think in terms of low-hanging fruit an Assault/Armor AT is the obvious choice. Give them lower scaling values for their defensive buffs than the melee ATs to avoid making them to unbalanced (I'd say around 75% of Scrapper values) and damage scales similar to Dominators and I think they'd be pretty balanced. They'd need some power changes such as replacing Power Boost in their Assault sets with either Aim or Build Up and maybe removing Taunt auras from their Armor sets (possibly use Stalker sets as the basis and give them a new AT-specific power instead of Hide?) but it would still be pretty simple.
I'm less keen on Blast/Armor since I think it would be to much a case of replacing Blasters. Unless their damage was down at Corruptor/Defender level (which would be stupid for a Damage AT) you get a situation where taking a high damage blast set gives you a choice of either an awesome self-defense secondary or a secondary made up of whatever powers were left on the floor after the other ATs had had their pick of the good powers.
The other thing I think would be interesting is a new AT using the Mastermind primaries. One idea that I like is a Mastermind that has a specific damage set (probably Assault since I think a full on Blast set would be a bit to good). I wouldn't give them full on damage dealer scales but maybe 0.75 (Corruptor level damage) would make their attacks useful without being to good. Power-wise the attacks in the Pet sets would need to be replaced but there's a relatively simple option there, replace them with appropriate powers from the thematically matched Buff/Debuff set (i.e. Ninjas gets a few Trick Arrow powers). I'd also change the Assault sets replacing whatever Aim/Build Up/Power Boost style power they have with a new power that provides a smaller damage and to hit buff to both the Character and his Henchmen. Basically the idea is a character who has less support powers than a traditional Mastermind but deals more damage.
Probably. At the last coffee talk someone asked about new ATs and the response was basically that they had looked into it but had no plans to release new ATs at this time. So it sounds like if they were working on a Primalist AT it has been shelved for one reason or another.

You mean Twilight Grasp?
That actually sounds pretty good though, not too overpowered and just enough support to at least say "I'm helping!!" The self support is also a combo of team and pure self buffs that probably make them out to be as strong for survival as a standard scrapper but busy enough that it can't focus on DPS. Perhaps make their melee on par with/just above Tankers (maybe at Stalker level) but reign in their damage cap.
Dark Servant might be a bit too strong, but I guess when you're trying to form such a set, you have to ask:
What powers exemplify [insert support set]? You probably play Dark Miasma for Dark Servant, right? And Tar Patch, right? Well, I guess the approach would be to divide the support set's powers into 3 categories: set defining, bread and butter and finally utility/skippables.
For Dark Miasma/Dark Affinity, that'd be:
Set Defining
Dark Servant
Howling Twilight
Soul Absorption (?? never played Affinity)
Bread and Butter
Tar Patch
Twilight Grasp
Darkest Night
Fearsome Stare
Fade (?? never played Affinity)
Utility/Skippable
Shadow Fall
Petrifying Gaze
Black Hole
From there, you kinda sorta have to pick from each category and you can't have just all the set definers or all the bread and butter, you have to keep a balance. Leaving out Howling Twilight, Tar Patch, Fearsome Stare and Darkest Night seems like a good call. Adding in Shadow Fall, while not bad is still a bit on the upside of strong. Keeping Dark Servant while also having Soul Absorption might be pushing it, especially for an AT that's probably namely suppose to be backup support to smooth out the team's capabilities.
Now swapping Dark Servant for Soul Transfer, might seem like a 'bleh' move, it does fit the theme and limits the amount of control and debuffs quite a bit...but does that ruin the player's desire to play a melee dark miasma user? Probably. I dunno.

Though I'd support more ATs using Control and Assault.
. . . . <Snip!> -EATs; PPD/Longbow/Praetorian/Hamidon/Rikti. The others have been suggested before, but Rikti is still my personal bee-in-the-bonnet, because it fits perfectly with the 'Story Driven Epic' aim the Devs mentioned for EATs. You can have good Rikti (Traditionalists) Bad Rikti (Restructurists) and Neutral/Rogue independent Rikti. Unique body-types, powers that could only work in an EAT framework, branching powers... It works. Besides, it's been ages since the Rikti war just got left to stagnate in favour of the new Praetorian shiny...and, given they have experience with the Battalion? Could be handy in future.

We need more EATS! All of the above plus Paragon Protectors, Nictus-powered like Quantums, Galaxies and Voids, and of course Clockworks/Warworks!

You really have to be able to give new archetypes interesting concepts, or ones that can't be built into the current archetypes.
Blade armor, for instance, could easily be given to tankers/scrappers/etc and be great for them.
A shapeshifting archetype that shifts into, gee, say wolves and panthers, for instance, would not be able to simply be given to another tankers or scrappers or whatever else.
Likewise, Kheldians are very unique, and soldiers of arachnos develop their own way. They are, in a sense, very similar to other archetypes (Crab spiders aside), even if one given archetype is similar to a hybrid of several, but they are unique in theme and how they branch out into specialties and are by far the best epic archetype NCSoft could have possibly made for villains.
I'd love more archetypes, but they would need to be special and warrant their own archetype. I wouldn't like new archetypes for the sake of adding new archetypes when they would be better suited to new powersets.
For the record, I'd totally go for Rikti epic archetypes, but only if they were properly customizable. =)
I could go for Armor/Assault (or Armor+Support/Assault), Armor/Ranged, or Armor/Control. Especially Armor/Control - I think I'd make the APPs for the AT Assault-esque.

It's really gotten to the point, for me at least, that the same old combinations of power sets in the current Archtypes has gotten...stale. There's only so many combos you can make, only so many concepts. There are still concepts that are impossible, or night on without heavily planned and expensive IO abuse.
I know there have been many suggestions over the years, and I'm honestly staggered how there are STILL no new ATs at all. I could understand pre-GR, because you would HAVE to make two ATs at a time; one for Blue and one for Red. Now? That issue no longer exists.
Just off the top of my head I can already think of two or three of the more stable sounding concepts that have been mentioned before;
-Blast/Armour or Assault/Armour. My personal suggestion. Pistols/SR characters, Fire Blast/Fire Armour, Energy/Invul power armour character. A big ol' chunk of character concepts there.
-Melee/Support or Support/Melee. Not one I'd likely go for, but I know I've seen it suggested a LOT over the years.
-EATs; PPD/Longbow/Praetorian/Hamidon/Rikti. The others have been suggested before, but Rikti is still my personal bee-in-the-bonnet, because it fits perfectly with the 'Story Driven Epic' aim the Devs mentioned for EATs.
