Ed-209....
Viral marketing for a new RoboCop, I'd imagine.
Issue 16 made me feel like this.
Warning: This poster likes to play Devil's Advocate.
Nice.
I'd buy that for a dollar
However, it turned out that Smith was not a time-travelling Terminator
They gave the original ED-209 the Michael Bay Transformers treatment.
Dr. Todt's theme.

Robocop has been slated to be rebooted for sometime now. Not entirely sure it needed to be rebooted but with FX tech that we have now compared to back when it was made, it will be at least visually improved.
That makes sense... I didn't really like that movie and would never in a million years have remembered the name of the fictional company in it.
Also, prolly the most unhelpful thread title ever. |
Also in the original movies, TV series and cartoons the company was Omni Consumer Products, so OmniCorp is a renamed OCP.
Here is the imdb link for the new Robocop movie, schedule for 2013:

There's some interesting talent involved with it, Oldman, SLJ, Hugh Laurie...

Indeed, as far as reboots go this one looks promising.

The first Robocop is still excellent to watch. There is the Criterion unrated version but the things that made it "unrated" and thus had to be toned down were the scenes of Murphy being blasted to pieces by Boddicker and his goons and the aftermath of Lewis kneeling next to what was left of him, and the scene of Ed-209's malfunction that caused it to blast that junior exec.
The second Robocop seemed a bit over the top and grim even for Robocop but then again the script was heavily changed from what Frank Miller had written.
Robocop 3: again Frank Miller wrote it and again it was heavily changed. Though I did like the idea that if OCP can't make a second cyborg they can at least accessorize the one they have. I also enjoyed it when Directive 4 was deleted and he then proceeds to get some payback for the death of his partner by OCP's hired goons.
Robocop the TV series: well being a TV series means it is going to be more lighthearted then the movies. A good effort with mixed results.
Robocop the Marvel cartoon: Meh
Robocop Alpha Commando: interesting.
Robocop Prime Directives miniseries: ignores movies 2 and 3, the TV series and cartoons. Part 1 and 2 were good. Part 3 was showing some signs of strain in the story though I liked that Murphy was fully awakened. Part 4 and the ultimate plan of the villain though was for me a total shark jump.
