I went to see the avengers last night and could not help but wounder what would happen if I could of put one of my tanks in there to help them out. So I started wondering bout it and came up with my FA/Fire tank Sir Hell on Justice. After all Burn can go a long way Now which one of your tanks would u pick?

I'd put Hyperstrike in there.

I'd just try to avoid pissing the Hulk off.

As Loki showed. Being "mostly" invulnerable can sucketh MIGHTILY sometimes.

My boxer tank, Koshi Osaki. His story works off nanites that strengthen him as the battle wages, much like the Hulk's rage. I rationalized that's how willpower worked when it came out, just having the sheer determination to keep fighting. I figured having nanites couldn't hurt that process .

I think Iron Man did a great job of Tanking personally that I would of had to emulate it. On that note though any of my Tanks could of done what he did.

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

Your Tanks can attack while moving without suppression and rooting?

With ranged energy beams?

That aren't underpowered and don't look like bubbles?

Before level 40?

Any of them..

First, I am completely blown away by how awesome that movie is. What a triumph.

Second, I would bring in a Fire tanker, most likely my magic-based one, Sally-Mander.

Reasoning:

First, another lady in that sausage-fest would be cool. ScarJo did an amazing job, but more eye-candy would be nice. (I vote Jessica Alba.) Second, there's nobody in the Avenger lineup with fire-based powers. Third, there's nobody in the Avenger lineup with magic based powers.

Most important? I would love, love, love to see how a fire armor toon looks with those kinds of special effects.

Well since you said "tank" and not Tanker...I'd throw in my main of course. The team could use another flyer.

It would have to be my main Big Soto Invul/Fire/Pyre Mastery with Pyronic Incarnate. His name would have to be changed to Something cool like Fire Fist or Over Heat. He cant fly, but he can emit burst of heat to help him leap and he can also create a thermal updraft to reduce impact on landings. Big Soto is from a earth in a parallel universe and the radiation the sun emits causes mutations in everyone on the planet and causes them to have a Fire Ability. It was discovered that the sun was dying and a scientist created a wormhole that lead to CoX Universe to escape. Soto was the first volunteer to enter to see if it was safe; however he was also the last. His earth was quickly destroyed after he entered by a solar flare that killed everyone.

Since his arrival in the CoX Universe he has met his double named Sinister Soto and he is a brute. Sinister ironically has the same abilities Fire/Invul/Pyre Mastery w/ Pyronic Incarnate; however his insanity and quest for power causes his fire ability to surpass Big Soto's, but is not as invulnerable as Big Soto.

Was an awesome movie! Loved it! I would probably have to put water shield into the mix. (Shield/ice) Mainly to show up how much more awesome she is than old cap. With two holds, ice patch, and cryonic judgment she would show them what this little water planet is made of. Also help with that sausage fest.

Yup, wasn't it established in the comics that the Asgardians just have such powerful technology it appears as magic to humans?

A City of Heroes tank would maybe be useful for the Great Lakes Avengers. I'm not saying this from a "Tankers are underpowered" perspective, they just don't compare to the Avengers tankerish characters.

Depends on how you read the movie and the line from Thor in the movie:

"Your ancestors called it magic. . .but you call it science. I come from a land where they are one and the same."

I think the impression they were trying to give was that where we (humans) see a difference between science and magic, the Asgardians understand them to be the same. This is not saying that there is no such thing as magic or that anything done by technology can be done with magic, but rather that on some deeper level the two are equivalent.

For comparison, consider liquid water and ice. Either way you're dealing with a bunch of molecular H[sub]2[/sub]O. But in one form you can build structures whereas the other form doesn't allow for that. I think the statement on magic and technology is saying something similar--you can do a set of things with one, another set of things with the other, but on a fundamental level that requires understanding we humans don't have, magic and technology are different forms of the same fundamental thing.

http://marvel.com/universe/Thor_(Thor_Odinson)

The official Marvel Universe website describes Asgard as a "Magical Realm." It also says, "Odin had the hammer Mjolnir created for him, enchanting it with powerful magic..."

So he comes from a MAGICAL realm and has a MAGIC weapon. The Asgardians might well be considered aliens, but they're magic using aliens.

The Avengers have no use for your tank.

It's all perspective.

You either believe it to be actual magic...or there is literally no such thing as actual magic.

Choose your side.

Magic or Tech? I dont care...lol

I still think my tank would be good for an Avengers team....

We should post up some screen shots of our tanks.

P.S. Do you think they rebooted Spider-Man so he can be added to the next Avengers movie? He is a Avenger now with Wolverine as well. It would kinda make sense, if you seen the movie and the character they introduced after the credits was fought by everyone in the Marvel Universe.

Since this is the marvel universe that we are talking about and not our own, once they release a Dr. Strange movie they will have magic. "Real" non tech based magic.

The movie version of the marvel characters have used more comic book stuff from the ultimate line (an alternate earth) that has alot more "science" based explanations for things than magic. So currently I would agree that the movie Thor is more tech than magic but once/if they add in Dr. Strange then that all changes to tech+magic like one of the posters above mentions.

And the toon I would bring to an alien invasion.... My crab spider. Awesome AOE, defenses, and team boosting powers. Put me up on the top of stark tower and treat the portal like a door in a BAF.... all dead or mostly dead upon zoning in!

And Big Soto - sorry but Spidey cant be in an avengers movie. Sony currently has him and unless Disney buys him back they cant use him or any signature spidey character in any disney movie.

Clarke's law gets misused a lot on these forums. In a universe where there is real magic (such as the CoH and Marvel universes) it doesn't hold true that what seems magical is really advanced technology. Clarke is talking about a universe (the real one) where there is no genuine magic.

While I am sure Clarke did not believe in magic, the statement holds regardless. Even in CoH, if the technology were advanced enoughyou would have no way to tell it from magic.

A person disappears from in front of Paragon City Hall and shows up in Perez Park. Was it magic or technology? You have no way of knowing. The game recognizes this in that our powers can come from any source.
