The most important question of all regarding today's vehicular team teleport: is it a dog? Surely there's a 4 leg rig used here somehow.

I assume that, as flying machines without wings, that they're powered by a buttered toast/cat combination, so yes.

I'm a little surprised at how positive the reaction to this is. Personally, I doubt I'll buy it, but I wouldn't mind using someone else's on a long task force or some such thing, so it seems like a fine addition.

If you have a Grey alignment, you summon a pack of wolves who you can ride on to your mission.

In factual news, Street Justice is 600 points now too.

Oh great. More automated travel. All of CoX just got Fatter, not Fitter.

Next step. Completely eliminate zone scenery and just have all kinds of mission doors lined up in neat little rows in one nondescript area for quickest transport yet.

Not for me. I enjoy the scenery and relaxing a bit between mission doors. I don't even use the mission teleporter I already have. Hurry, if you must, but I prefer a more leisurely pace in my games.

Two thumbs down. Instant savings: 700PP

We call this the AE. It's so streamlined, you only need one mission door for your entire levelling career

On topic, team mission teleport sounds moderately useful, but I already have personal mission teleport and recall team, and my main has recall friend on top of that... I don't see it being a must have.

I'm tempted to get it but...only have ~500 points...so....

Unless I get my monthly 550 stipend points then I'm most likely not getting it now.

I could not agree with you more. I'll pass on this temp power.

Neat concept! It's too limiting for me character wise, I don't associate most of my characters with either faction but if I end up making a toon that is really all Arachnos or Longbow, I may get it when it's on sale for sure.

While I agree with your sentiment, I'll explain why I bought this so fast, it probably made the speedster Synapse blush. I'm big on team play--especially RP, which is all about smelling the metaphorical roses--but I'm also just as much of a solo player. I have owned the single-person mission teleporter for a long time, but I have never used it while solo. Not even once.

However, in my own personal opinion, when I'm on a team is not always the best time to indulge in scenic tours. If I'm positive I'll still get there ahead of other teammates, then sure, I'll probably take the scenic route. I love the scenery. I love watching the buildings whoosh by, or nimbly leaping between ledges. Heck, I love turning on the walk power in the middle of the city.

But if the mission door is two or three zones away, and I'm reasonably suspicious my personal preferences aren't going to be helpful to the team, I'm going to take a tip from the comics (and TV, and books) and simply have my character "arrive on the next panel". In those cases, if teleportation doesn't fit my character, it is implied that they traveled there somehow.

Just so I understand how this works...

Is it like the Ouroboros portal, in that the vehicle is summoned to me and the group has to be near me to click on it?

Or is it like a mission transporter for all members of the group, even if the group is scattered in various zones?

It's a certain range around the flyer that is summoned. Every few seconds (10? 15?) a menu will pop up asking if you want to transport if you're standing within range.

They should have put this on the market the same time they set the weekly task force to the 1stTerra Volta respec. That has to be one of the longer runs in-game from the mission in SC back to the reactor.

So you didn't get yours from Longbow/Arachnos.

  • You bought it from Honest Achmed's Used Flyer Dealership.
  • You got it by saving up 10,000,000 proofs of purchases from Hami-O's breakfast cereal.
  • You stole it.
  • You found one that was shot down and abandoned and took it home and fixed it.
  • It's a privately run taxi service catering to people with super powers.
You're only limited by your imagination.

Related to this,
  • You successfully sued the makers of Red Beast, who advertised that you could get a Longbow Chaser for just 7,000,000 Beast Points.

I gotta say, the idea and execution are both pretty neat IMHO. Certainly provides a solution to those who've wanted vehicles since forever.

Now if we can just CUSTOMIZE that vehicle...hmmmmm...

I really like this idea, though it would be nice if we had more vehicle models to choose from, and the ability to choose which model would appear when we trigger the power (much like how a selection window comes up when using base teleport).

Of course, the game does not currently feature any other aerial vehicles ... so providing more options would be a problem in that regard. But I'd still like to be able to choose from among the 3 listed.

This could also be a nice temp power to get from a new TF or something, where maybe it just has a couple of charges, and no choice of vehicle.

I guarantee there will be whiners complaining that what they wanted was a vehicle with it's own powers that they could customize.

If this sells well we will probably see more variations of this power with a variety of vehicles slowly get added. Just like they are doing with Rocket Board, Flying Carpet, Coyote, and the soon to be released Panther.
