Stalkers: I22 Pylon Killers Thread

I had found myself curious after reading the scrapper thread on soloing the Pylons, so starting this thread to consolidate information from the Stalker community.

If you have tested, downed, or flat out got owned on the Pylon challenge post-I22 using a Stalker, please help out the rest of the Stalker community and let us know what powersets were used, time to down, or other relevant information on the subject.

We all share Assassin's Strike, but I'm curious on how it affects, compliments, or undermines the primaries and secondaries in today's CoH/CoV.

Stalkers were already posting in the Scrapper Forums Pylon Thread. This seems kind of superfluous.

There's a difference between Scrappers and Stalkers, just like there's a difference in each AT's respective community. This thread was started to bolster the Stalker community to talk about Stalkery things. Not reference Scrapper threads about Scrappery things.

I like the idea! I actually wish the Scrapper thread kept to just Scrapper times! I'd have kept up with it better

Exactly what had got me to start this thread for Stalkers, the Scrapper thread devolves into nonsense and other archtypes nitpicking things that have nothing to do with Stalkers testing out their sneak-stab-stab style. I'd much rather get information that's usable instead of reading through three pages of blasters/trollers/mm's/etc whining about lore pets and what inspirations are okay with other AT's and all that esoteric non-stalker thread fluff.

Don't get me wrong, Scrappers have done a lot of very helpful work in that thread, but... I'm not interested in Scrappers or others because, well, they're not Stalkers. Before I22 it was perfectly alright to browse through the Scrapper, Brute, Tanker, even SoA forums for little tidbits of information that could help certain abilities that were mirrored in Stalker sets. Now the style of play and the uniqueness of the Stalker versions warranted a Stalker thread for Stalker info.

Or I could be wrong, late night coffee binges do that sometimes. But if no one bothers to reply then I suppose I will have to go through page after page after page of everyone trolling the Scrapper thread, to find the Stalker goodies. Or, you know, Stalkers could come out of hiding. *poke poke*

I think it's a great idea that each AT has its own Pylon thread. It makes things much easier to read/follow. I see even dominator/controller ATs are posting in that Scrapper thread.

The only build I have that beats Pylon is SJ/Ice so far after the change. I didn't time it though.

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

I took my StJ/EA for a Pylon spin after hearing that a maxed out build was doing 350+ DPS or something like that.

Its a fully IO'ed build and all that good stuff ( IO'ed for survivablity and incarnate soft capped more so than amazing ST damage), but posted a much lower DPS of 240. You can reverse engineer the time from the originally forumula but it was something like 5 minutes and change using tier 3 incarnates, no lore. (Not using a +Dam alpha either)

Too much chatter, not enough pylon kills:

StJ/SR Stalker. (BU-AS-CU) SB-AS-SC-SB-AS-CU. T4 Musculature Radial, T4 Reactive Radial. 2:54, 349 DPS.
NB/SR Stalker. GD-GC-SD-AS. T1 Musculature. 3:55, 291 DPS
DB/Nin Stalker. Ablat-SS-Ablat-(BU)-AS-(Plac). T4 Agility Radial, T4 Reactive Radial. 2:55, 347 DPS

I have ElM/ElA and EM/EA stalkers at 50, frankenslotted with SOs and IOs. I'll bring them out of retirement and give them a try in the near future.

StJ/SR I changed my build to the one below and gave up a little recharge but gained an actual attack in heavy blow. I tried once and then died and then tried another time and got 3:40 total time. So this is just in 2 tries total. I made lots of mistakes and misses though so I am sure many could get a faster time doing what I was doing.

Chain was not Auroxis's (which--don't get me wrong--is doubtless better) but instead AS-CU-HB-SC-SB so that I didn't have to worry about syncing things up if AS missed and so that at least CU is used as soon as it gets up and is used at combo lvl 3.

T4 musculature and T4 degenerative radial but no temps, pets, etc.

As per Ricodah's suggestion I put tough on the bar...lol...I am sure one of the pros could take this and get a much better time as I always seem to get like a minute longer than them even when I am supposedly doing exactly the same thing.

I am really impressed by DB's high level performance.

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

DB has always had good pylon times. DB/Elec (scrapper)was one of the top pylon times (300+ dps) even before interface came out. It's high performance is rather limited to ST dps tests though.

I can see DB Scrapper doing well since Scrapper has follow-up to stack damage. I didn't know Stalker DB is doing that well because 1. combos suck for dps 2. stalker doesn't have follow-up.

But they have AS which just adds alot to one's DPS.

Scrappers DB's best chain wasnt even it's combo. Though it required so much +RCH I personally didn't think it was worth it. But then again, I don't look to solo GMs with my characters, just enough to solo AVs. So maybe it was just me who doesn't think it's worth it.

Yeah, the new AS certainly has helped. I wonder what was the number for DB Stalker before the new AS.

I mean how much the new AS has improved so far in terms of dps number?

Part of what made the DB/Elec time so high was Blinding Feint's damage buff affecting not only the attacks themselves, but also Elec's damage aura and Water Spout. Without that advantage, DB is on par with Katana on scrappers(which is quite high up there as well).

Around 115ish, not accounting for -Resist Procs, Purple Procs, Incarnate content, ect.

Which would likely move it up quite a bit, more so when you figure that's at least 2 Purple Procs and 2 -Resist Procs.

Besides the Combos just sucking before, my only complaint for Stalker DB was the lack of Typhoon's Edge. It's animation is a must have in my DB users arsenal.

The new AS system can improve Stalker's dps by 115?!

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

Well, those times have all the previously mentioned procs in them.

I think its more like the 60-80. Which seems impressive (and it is!) but you have to remember sustaining end became tougher.

I just noticed that for ElM, the AS-CI-JL chain is possible. While the recharge for this may not be quite as achievable solo (maybe during the first burst of Ageless), on teams it's a definite possibility. I'll run my numbers for it later and see how it compares with AS-CI-CB-JL.

How would that be possible? That means AS would have to recharge in 3.036 seconds. AS tops out at 3.75 second recharge and that's with max recharge.

Seeing as the recharge cap is +400%(or 500%), AS tops out at 3 seconds recharge(15/5).

Anyway I've done a bit of math and the difference isn't too big, with the shorter chain coming out on top by a just a few percentages. I'll probably cycle it only when my recharge is reliably capped.
