Double XP.. how did you do?

Well as the weekend winds down I have taken a moment to start the usual how'd it go thread.

For myself..

Dark/Dark Corruptor went from 26 to 35 level (9)

Dark/Dark Controller went from 30 to level 35 (5)

And my Fire/Rad Corruptor went from 31 to level 36 (5)

Over the past three days I have done Posi 1, Pos 2, Synapse, Sister Psyche. Moonfire, Citadel, Manticore and Sutter's TF. All three joined Vanguard and since they are all three already in the MIdnighter Club they now have access to Cimeroroa and the ITF.

Okay now for the fun stuff

For the thousandth time.. NO you don't earn double Incarnate XP during a double XP weekend .. I swear I saw that almost constantly being asked in globals the past three days.

Dude are YOU sure you should be calling someone else rude? On one of the Citadel's I did the entire team ended up waiting around in Talos for 5-10 minutes while ONE guy was ??? no idea what but he took forever to actually join us in TALOS to start. Not exactly considerate considering EVERYONE is trying to get as much done as possible while the XP rate is high. Then later mister tactful gets all upset and tells another team member that they are RUDE for stealthing when HE had clearly said he'd do it. Didn't matter that the guy being called rude was 3/4 of the way through the map and about to locate the Base leader by the time our hero arrived... HE wanted to stealth the mission . A whole long, LONG argument ensued and i was just about to say "Boys can we be nice or do I need to seperate you?" "Don't make me stop this TF. I will turn it around and we will go straight home!" lol

I discovered joining a POSI two 45 minutes before you'd normally head to bed is NOT a good idea on DXP weekend.. We killed everything we could find on EVERY single map. The XP was great but I finally got to bed about 40 minutes later than usual ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Yawn!

So anything funny or silly happen to you over the weekend? And what did you get done?

I got my crab spider from 25 to 50! That was my main goal this weekend, so I'm happy. A WST and four kill-all ITFs will do wonders for advancement even with normal XP... this weekend they were simply glorious.

Of those four ITFs, by the way, all were in pick-up groups, all were at at least +1, not a single one included a tanker, two also had no brutes, and one had no tank, no brute, and the only support set present was a controller with force fields -- so no heals either. Everyone started out all worried we wouldn't finish, but they were some of the smoothest-running ITFs I've ever done -- in the last two especially, we dropped Romulus in the final battle with less trouble than I've ever seen before. More evidence that no AT is strictly necessary for anything in this game.

My archery corruptor started the weekend at 20 and made it all the way to... 23. That I'm a little less happy about, but whatever. He'll just be my new active leveling project.

I also took five other "new" (under level 10, even though some of them had been sitting there for months) characters to 22 and SO's/tips -- including a stalker and a gravity controller.

Not a complete success for me, but definitely a success.

FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.

I took my Ill/Dark Controller from level 23 to level 37, with Moonfire(can't pass up the WST during DXP), Manticore, some radio missions, and an MSR. I also took my Dark/Rad Controller from level 23 to level 34(currently mothballed until they fix Umbral Beast). Think I did it with Moonfire, Sis Psyche, and Synapse.

You sure that wasn't during a Synapse TF? I think I met the same guy, during the "Defeat Bertha" mission I was the first one to the mission, and once inside I instinctively dashed through the map, was most of the way there when someone says in team "stealthing". Then as I arrive at the boss I get called rude by a different teammate.

The thing was, half the people on the team were in his SG(or an SG affiliated with his) including the team leader, so it was kind of intimidating, as responding the wrong way could have gotten me kicked from the TF. I wanted to laugh, but being called rude for simply playing the game pissed me off. So I responded, told him I was 2/3rds the way through the map when the other player stated "stealthing", and for him to call me rude was, in fact, rude. Some people, huh?

ACK .. your right it was Synapse and that very mission.. Yeah bright boy really was a Jerk with that whole rant. I knew you were basically just defending yourself but he refused to let it go. It sort of falls under the category of "some people get older but never really grow up" He was acting like he was about 5... maybe even the terrible twos

Thanks to an untimely, but welcome visit from an out-of-town friend, I didn't get to play nearly as much as I would've liked this 2xXP weekend. In all I think I got 21 levels spread across four characters, including one I took from 22-32.

My TF nightmare story of the weekend...

All weekend I was trying to get on a Renault SF with my dom - the only redside character I was desperate to level. All weekend it was the same story - no interest. Then, last night I ran into a player who was trying to level to 25 so he could start one. I joined his team, and once he got to 25, he started recruiting. And wouldn't you know it, another group was recruiting for a Renault at the same time, so it took like 15 minutes to get 8 players (after one level 6 joined and had to drop when we didn't realize his level)

We finally start the SF and the mobs are all +6 to us because the leader was only 25. So then we all have to quit and rejoin with the level 40 player as the leader. We go through two or three missions, and they aren't going super fast, but they're OK, and the leader announces, "OK guys, I'm gonna go, thanks for the team."

We were all like, "What do you mean you're going to go, this is a SF and there are like seven or eight more missions?" He replied that he didn't know that, and he stayed. For one more mission. After the fourth mission, he and another player dropped. We didn't know if they dc'ed or what, but we decided to slog on. It was slow, difficult, painful going with only six of us with scores of deaths and multiple team wipes. I don't recall how long it took, be we started an hour before Walking Dead started and we were still playing while Comic Book Men was on 2-1/2 hours later.

The best part is, on the next to last mission, the MIA leader pops back up. We asked where he was and he said something like, "Oh, I went to get something to eat and then took a nap." We let him help us finish the next to last mission and then kicked him. And I was very glad of it even though it made the final mission that much more painful. No way was I interested in giving him a full level end of SF bonus when he missed over half the SF and was one of the main reasons it took us close to 3 hours to finish.

Well this is a milestone,

My third toon ever created and my very first Virtue toon who is 7 years old

Dr Mythos, started out at Security Level 41 and has become a hero of the city this weekend hitting security level 50.

It started off with a a call from the midnighters club and a trip traveling back in time to face Rommy, then a call to action where I took lead of an inpromptude MSR. The League was set up by another hero, While I lead the troops to victory after victory aganist the pylons and finally into the gaping maw of the Mothership, where we brought the fight to the Rikti Master of Arms himself.

( total of 1 MSR and 3 ITF's)

I want to thank all the heroes and villains who assisted with those events, and a extra smile too Angry A you know who you are, thank you for the kind words and I was glad you joined the MSR. With that said...

Now a return to Metaforces Mondays where "Doc" will become an Incarnate Archmage...

See you all around Virtue, Wait is that a disturbance in Astoria I sense....

Got my Dark/Time Controller from 22 to 29.

Then I made a new Fire/Dark and got him up to level 25. Basically spammed DfB until 22 and then moved to Atlas. Was lots of fun but I did join a team lead by a scrapper where everything was +3/4. Slow going and I died a fair bit but there was a nice roleplaying Emp who kept rezzing my poor clockwork ****, in character so there was an enjoyable bit of banter going on.

Then we started a CoT mission and it turned into a Prison Room nightmare as we kept getting massacured, so much so that the leader just dropped without saying a word, but the survivors regrouped and ran a few more together before my Wife Aggro levels critted and I had to log for a bit.

Lots of fun though, even with the insane stream of deaths I managed to assemble (Fire/Dark seems to ride the edge between pretty excellent damage up close and suddenly dying horribly)

Hehehe this sounds familiar I did that a few years back and swore I'd never abuse my mind and body that way again.

Ive never missed a 2xp weekend. Been to every one of them..I have NO idea how I did a session like that and wasn't more exhausted than I was..I relaxed for a few hours and was back at it. I must be getting better with age, like a fine wine.

Dark/Time Troller 40-50. PB 1-19.

I was going to focus on another character I want to reroll but still haven't decided on what secondary.

So I helped people level instead by running ITFs, and spent one day oversleeping due to feeling all icky!

The sleep on that day was good though

It's been a long time since I've been able to do a double XP weekend. One I was out of town, then I was working against a deadline on a book and had zero game time. I made up for lost time:

- Kin/En scrapper, 2->30
- Namesake fire/en (rerolled from fire/dev) went 41->50
- Long-idle ice/kin corruptor went 46->49
- Fire/Fire scrapper went 46->50
- Widow went 32->36
- Claws/dark brute went 29->33
- TW/Elec Brute went 0->28
- Demon/Time MM went 0->19
- Time/DP corr went 0->26
- Bots/Traps MM went 32->36
- Beam/Time went 28->32
- Soldier went 0->18

edit: 147 total levels gained, not counting L1 on fresh alts rolled up.

In other news, I've forgotten what sunshine looks like.

If it isn't obvious, I'm in love with Time Manipulation.

I shut it down for the weekend to conserve energy. I was in 'Go. Hunt. Kill. Stuff.' mode all weekend. It was VERY effective too!
