Suggestion: Make Catalysts Account Bound

I support such a suggestion nonetheless. We need this.
I support this. And I feel I should add: What's the big reason that they can't be sold on the market? Short of incresed interest in the super packs that contain them I don't see why that would be a bad thing.
or just give us something else to do with them. trade them in for something else, etc.
According to Arbiter Hawk on the "Unplanned Downtime Ustream", salvage can't be made Account Bound - That flag only exists for two things, I think he said Recipes and Enhancements. Everything else only has the "Untradeable" flag available to it. Making account bound salvage would first require writing new code, and he didn't say anything about how difficult that might be.

Yes.
I have a character who got a Catalyst...that will NEVER be using the ATO set for his AT (scrapper). The only piece I MIGHT use is the crit chance proc, and that's only if I can find a spot to put it that doesn't cause me to rethink his entire build.
I have another character who has plans for all 6 ATOs....who has not gotten a Catalyst yet.

Such as a voucher in ouroboros to trade your catalyst in and get it back in the form of an email, ala Astrals>threads and Emps>threads or simply making the catalyst itself be something other than salvage so that it could be account bound.

You go to the Vendor, say, "Hey, email this to me", and he emails it to you. Bam. Suddenly, "account-bound" salvage.
Although the idea of doing the Catalysts as a "Enhancement" instead of a "Salvage" is a much better one - but I think that ship has long since sailed.

BTW, they said on Ustream that they definitely are working on a way to make it happen (i.e., make Catalysts account bound). They are deciding right now how to do it, then they have to code it to make it happen.
So... my guess is look for it to happen maybe for I23 and not any time sooner.

I have two catalysts on a toon that I can do nothing with, since that toon has a set of superior ATO's now.

What's that, they don't run BETA toons like we do. Oh okies, then maybe when we mention stuff like this in BETA it should get addressed and not ignored? Nah, lets wait till live when MOAR people are telling us what our BETA testers who took the time to help us and we ignored them told us.

Better yet, why not just make 'em available to sell/trade? I've got a whole stack of 'em I'm never going to use, and I'm sure there's a sucke--discerning customer that'd love to take mine off my hands.
I doubt it's a matter of them not paying attention. More likely it's a matter of them not having spare resources on hand to make it happen immediately.

If you don't have the time and/or money to do it right the first time*, when WILL you have the time and/or money to do it right?
*"...the first time" meaning during beta when we griped about it since the devs didn't think of it themselves prior to then.

I don't like the idea of making them enhancements because my enhancement tray is often full since there are no rare enhancement drops and I don't really care about getting SO drops. I much prefer them going into my Special salvage, but the fact that there is literally nothing you can do with them beyond creating more superior ATOs of the same type you already have slotted and emailing them to another character of the same AT is really annoying. I just got one on my Stalker who already has a full set of superior ATOs, and I don't have any other Stalker characters so I am just sitting on the catalyst and looking at it, hoping some day there will be something I can do with it...
ATOs (or as they are properly called, ASEs) are rare drops if I am not mistaken.

This has frustrated me as well. It's annoying to have stuff you can't use but also can't give to another toon or sell. So many solutions, they just need to pick one and implement it.

I know several people have asked for it in the other forum sections but I thought it couldn't hurt to have it here front and center.
Considering the limited and very specific use for catalysts, its highly probably that the rng can gib you by dropping catalysts only for characters who don't need them. With no way to make use of them on one character they will simply pile up and serve no purpose.
Please make them account bound so when we do get one we can actually use it. Even if that means mailing it to another character on our account.
