I have another character who has plans for all 6 ATOs....who has not gotten a Catalyst yet.
That pretty much sums it up for me and my experience/plans. I have a Elec/SD Brute that is very solo friendly with 3 that I have no plans on using them for. On the flip side, I have several support defenders/corruptors that could really use them but has difficulty running normal solo content let alone DA content.

Who do I have to *&^% around here to get more Targeted AoE recipes added?

I have to say, I do get tired of the "it's too complicated/we don't have time to do that" excuse. Sometimes I think the entire game is put together using bubblegum, baling wire and spit.

As for catalyst drops, just run with a character you really need it on.
Being Very Rare only accentuates the issue. Because of the rarity it can take /months/ of farming on the toon you want them on just to get the 6 you need. In reality what you will probably get is a couple catalysts on multiple toons being completely unable to do anything with them because they break your set bonuses until you have the total amount you need.

All I have been doing since i22 release is farming for catalysts and right now this is what it looks like for me: 1 on my dom, 3 on my troller, 2 on my brute, 1 on other brute, 2 on my corr. The only toon to actually use them yet is my dom cause he only needed to slot the proc. All the others can't do anything with them until they get more. I would kill for the ability to transfer them to one toon so i could actually make use of them.

Running only on the character you need them on is not a good solution because of how rare they are, you will spend months farming for them, and for a more casual player, even longer. They are as rare as purples, getting 6 purples for a casual player all on a single toon is a massive endeavor, or massively lucky.

Couldn't they have just made Catalysts recipes, then? Go to an invention table, open the Catalyst recipe, the only item you need to craft it is 1,000 inf, and Bam! You suddenly have the catalyst.

That way recipes could be mailed to whomever you want, and you could turn them in to catalysts.

Just let us go to an NPC and trade them in to be e-mailed to our account. It's the easiest solution, the method for doing it is already in place.

They *could* have.

TL;DR: They didn't.

The way these are coded it is clear they did not have any foresight about how this would function in the game ie. 6 very rare drops. This was made worse by them IGNORING us when we told them about it during BETA. It did not have a damm thing to do with resources.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

This is the real problem, as I see it. Not "I got this but I don't want it," but literally "I got this and can't use it."

Sure, they might introduce other ATO sets at some point -- but the sets aren't going to come in groups of more than six. How many catalysts will I have by then? Probably more than six.

I'm all for this e-mail voucher solution.

FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.

I thought that the catalyzed enhancements were account bound. So, if you had a catalyst on a character, can't you email that character the ATO you want to use the catalyst on and then email it back to the toon as an enhancement? Or am I seriously wrong in thinking that? I have only claimed catalysts from the cards and only on the toon I was going to use it on, so I am asking honestly before I get too invested in all these new systems.

Catalysts from Super Packs are theoretically Account Bound, because only characters on your account can access them. But once a character accesses a Catalyst or receives it as a drop, then it's Character Bound.

Ok, so I just sent a catalyzed enhancement to myself from a toon. Are you telling me that with the catalyst drop you cannot purchase the ATO you want with that toon, catalyze it and then send it to yourself for use on another toon?

Okay, I know I'm dragging this back from the depths, but if the character you want to send to is a different AT than the one with the Catalysts, no, you can't catalyze before sending it through the mail to yourself. You can only combine enhancements that are slotted with anything else.

And with Catalysts dropping during Incarnate content, a player with multiple ATs that could use them other than the one they're playing is getting a dud drop at the moment with them.

Way I see it, there's three fixes, but none of them seem easy from the dev perspective: find a way to code salvage to be account bound, use merit vendors of some sort as a trade-in station to turn a drop into a character item email, or possibly find a way to allow ATEs to be combined from the tray. I personally like the email voucher idea most myself, since it seems the quickest way the devs could implement it.
