This was usually in the form of the villains being THIS close to winning, but then they get word that whatever captive or whatever ended up getting rescued by Blue Steel. Let's see... Happened twice to Westin Phipps: once with Miss Francine and the other with Ido and Hugo... Once to Ghost Widow as she attempted to destroy Numina... Once to Ambassador Kuhr'Rekt when he was plotting against Valkyrie... Once to Vernon von Grun as he was interrogating kidnapped scientists about the Devouring Earth... Can't think of any more at the moment. As a result, he was the go-to guy when something needed to happen, and the Chuck Norris-esque meme developed shortly thereafter. |

The Lord Recluse ally in Dark Astoria doesn't summon pets at all. Just fires lasers and claws people with his spider legs.
