Really what I like are the merit cards, and the xp boost powers. The ATIO's are nice, but will be better when enhancement converters come in i22.
From my BETA runs the amount of merits given in those packs is pretty attractive as well as the XP boosters for those with altitis. GL on the next pack, it will be the one.

[edit: I was wrong, Chinese set only includes the sword per feedback, I must have just been recalling a screenshot of the set featured on someone using Staff Fighting]

To add salt to this wound I've seen the reverse of this scenario: one guy claimed he opened like 700+ packs on Beta before he got the Black Wolf then got it like in his 4th pack when they went live.

Stupid RNG...

I have two accounts and I bought 4 packs on each account. I didn't especially want the wolf but I did want a full set of Scrapper or Brute ATIOs.

And I didn't get them.

In fact, I don't think I have gotten more than 3 of any set.

(Did eventually get the wolf on the 4th pack on each account.)

I went through 250 packs on the beta server and didn't see the Wolf Pet. Glad that was beta...

@Demobot

Also on Steam

I opened over 400 packs on beta and still didn't unlock the Black Wolf pet.

It's 'really' rare.

Well considering the Black Wolf Pet has a 1 in 333 chance (Zwill's tables) and that there is only on average 0.79 Very Rare cards per pack (ParagonWiki based on Arcanaville's Beta test) that there is only a 50% chance after opening roughly 290 packs (230 very rare cards).

Of course as you get the three VR costume pieces the odds change significantly to 1 in 192. At that point you have a 50% chance in only 168 packs (133 very rare cards).

Well, I haven't seen these Supergamble Packs that you speak of, but I sure have opened up a lot of regular ol' Super Packs! They're fun!

Alternate reply: I think I'm going to start a drinking game. Each and every time I see someone either imply or accuse CCG like elements in a game are "gambling", and make attempts to derail threads in this way, I'll take another drink...

The "guy" is a gal... That was me.

As part of the general drop rate testing, I did open more than 700 packs on beta just to see how many it would take me to find the wolf. I typically have absolutely horrible luck with the RNG in this game, so I knew going in I'd be on the tail end of the curve. (For reference, it also took me more than 30 packs on beta to get the complete costume set, and several hundred to get one complete Stalker ATO set.)

When the packs went live, I used some extra stipend points I had laying around to buy 6 of the things, just to try for one costume bit I wanted... I got that in pack #2. The wolf came up in the fourth set.

What does that mean?

That random is random.
... Or that I'm doomed never to see another good drop of ANY kind in this game EVER AGAIN. XD

That's good, because you'd likely get alcohol poisoning on the first day.

I should really look for Arcana's numbers on stuff like this before blowing away points, she is usually spot on with her figures.

Oh well it was fun anyway.

I think relaxing and having a pint is in order.

Not at all, having a pint should not set one down that rocky road.

I've never had a goal specifically in mind for my Super Pack purchases, beyond "Buying super packs." In each and every case, I have received exactly what I intended on purchasing: super packs. This isn't semantics. This isn't the difference between blue and light blue.

I like to buy cool stuff. Super packs have cool stuff. My ONLY expectation in buying them is cool stuff. Well, guess what? I bought super packs and got cool stuff.

At no point was I at risk of not getting exactly what I wanted.

Perfectly stated.
The problem is for people (like me) who only find a select few of the things within the packs that we would define as "cool stuff".
That's our problem and no one else's, but that is why some people dislike these packs so much.
They cater to your view nicely. They tease and annoy those of us who only like/want the exclusive items.
It's just silly stuff in a video game, so I'm fine and my feedback has been given, hehe.

Egg-sack-ly.

Which is why the phrase "Supergamble packs" is far from the mark. That's like calling a variety pack of beer a "Superalcoholism pack," when I'm not an alcoholic. (I love it when Blue Moon has their seasonal variety packs.)

What you should really be talking about is Supergamblers who might buy lots of Super Packs. But if every vendor stopped selling anything that might be indulged in by people with sensitive psychologies, the world would be short on all kinds of goodies.

Don't demonize a great product because some people have personal demons.
