Any predictions on ATIO prices?

Archetype-specific IOs. Which price category wil they be in? Posiblast? Purples? PvP IOs? Will they all have similar prices or will some sets be more valuable?

What is the opinion of the market experts?

Calling my seer powers. It all depends on how much the super packs are worth, and the cooldown on buying them with astral/emp merits. As they can be used at level 10, they will be very valuable. At first, the prices for the ATOs will be very expensive because they are new, and the bonuses are good. They can be used in any attck power. It all depends how much the packs are, and people keeing them to their selves for alt toons.

At this point it is impossible to give a rational estimate.

I am willing to engage in rampant speculation, based on opening a couple hundred packs on Beta, about the first few weeks.

Extremely high initial demand. I would expect them to be in Damage Purple / PvP range (500 mil - 2 bil) at first, at least for the more popular AT types. So popular and so high in fact, that lazy people with income will be tempted to spend real world bucks to tear packs just to convert/sell them for inf.

After the new wears off and everyone has their fav toon tricked out, it will all depend on the drop rate and in game currency purchase options.

If for example the ATO drops are added to the same pool that drops purples, I would guess that will thin the existing purple drops, thus supporting the purple market price in the face of the surge in desirable Purps from enh converters. That level of rarity would keep the ATO's in the very high range. If they do stay that high, well funded players whose time is to valuable to waste farming and marketeering in game, will continue to spend bucks - for points - for packs as in indirect way to easily swap real money for inf. This should kill or at least cripple the inf for cash spammers. If that should happen, Hurrah!, as for as I am concerned.

Another possible path would be only the ATO procs being super high. Since both converters and random ATO's drop from packs the points-packs-inf chain remains complete but less desirable, as procs only really shine after the application of a Catalyst, and those drop very infrequently from packs, and can't be sold. Catalyst upgraded ATO's can't be sold either.

Or not, really rich people play ... golf. As I said, rampant, unfounded on any empirical data, speculation.

But was a fun diversion,
Jak

My guess is that these might actually be slightly cheaper than purples.

They use astrals/normal merits, which are easily obtainable. 4 day cooling off period? About the time I would need to refarm merits etc.

First week or two or three, expect sky high prices, about double or triple the normal price. After that, I'm thinking the 200-300 mil mark?

Well when you say purples do you mean any purples? Damage Purples? Purples after the rebalancing? I'd say the most valuable ATOs (Brute mostly, but also Scrapper/Blaster/Corruptor) would be hovering about 500 m each, with some of the lower valued ones going for 250-400 million (bear in mind that pulling a Defender's Bastion IO would lead many to use converters rather than post).

The market effect these are going to have will be interesting, to say the least.

This is the link to the new tables of weights for superpacks and how they will convert to Influ.
You could at least change the file name. <.<

I'll probably get at least a few packs (maybe drop a Paragon Rewards token on a batch when they come out) trying to get that elemental Order robe, because it's super shiny and I want it. I'm just trying to figure out if I should sell any ATIOs I get, or keep the ones I have a use for and try to fill in the gaps to make full sets.

It would, at least, be *something* to do with all this Inf I have.

BID ON ALL THE THINGS!

I've been going around all my characters putting up bids in the 50-100mil range on appropriate ATIOs. The logic is that there will be an initial spike of supply as people buy the Super Packs and end up with extraneous IOs.

So far demand seems to be rising fast on the Corruptor set. My bids were left in the dust and I had to increase them. I used the Inf from my MM since apparently nobody wants the MM IOs and I got them all around 30mil ish.

After getting 6 characters outfitted with new shinies I'm down 2 billion Inf, so that means I took a measely 200mil out of circulation.

QFT

I didn't keep track of how much Inf. I made today, but it should be around 2 - 3 billions (only ATOs).

So what's the better market, ATIO sales, or Converter speculation?

Absolute Amazement and Coercive Persuasions have gone up in price by more than 300%.

Prices are all over he place. Bid low for now. I bought for my blaster in the 50 mill area. But i see in the 150s and 100s for rarer toons.

Makes me wonder if blasters, scrappers, and brutes are the most popular wont they be the highest price.

Wont my bane spider cost the least?

WHo knows.

The Tank Proc was going for 250 - 500 million earlier today.
I sold both my Tank Procs as soon as I saw that.

I picked up a lot of them cheap, but I'm not sure what the eventual price of these things will be.

My gut feeling is that they're being dumped onto the market right now with the intro of Super Packs, and as the supply slows down the price will rise, at least on the ones people really want.

The Scrapper ATOs for example, grant more smash/lethal than Kinetic Combat plus high recharge, and can be slotted in a Targeted AoE attack instead of something like Positron's Blast, which has no defensive bonus. I can see those things always being valuable. But since you can only slot 1 set per character, whereas people typically slot 4-5 sets of Kin Combat if they can, maybe demand won't outstrip supply?

But yeah... a billion. Lol.

The brute set also has that same s/l bonus. Thing is, you can split up the set, and use 3 in one power, 3 in another. In addition to the obvious "wow, now those powers don't suck!" advantage (edit: by not using Kinetic Combats), you're also saving 2 slots.

My only "yeah, I'm really pretty sure on this one" prediction is that for the s/l reason alone, regardless of AT popularity, will make these two sets far, far more valuable than anything else. The procs in particular are highly desirable just on their own merits, so that will make them worth a great deal more.

I can't recall all the bonuses offhand to tell you why, but when I looked at what was offered as a bonus on some AT sets, I had very little interest in using them for myself: defender, MM, tank, SoA. I presume I am not going to be alone in this view.

The dominator and controller ones have very desirable bonuses, but their relative value will be tempered by the fact that they are not damage sets, they go in mezz powers. Other mezz IO sets also have very good values, however. This may put a lower ceiling on their value than they might otherwise have. What I like about them (and the controller one in particular), is that it offers BOTH good ranged defense and recharge in the same set - other sets offer one or the other. But the fact that it is not a damage set is going to dampen its price, imo. If those sets offered s/l defense rather than ranged (I love ranged defense, but it's far easier to come by), a set that ALSO offered 8.18 recharge (the controller set) would be in the same league as the scrapper/brute ATO's. Alas... ranged.

I've seen people say this a couple of times, and yeah, I guess the def bonus for only 3 pieces is very nice... but the recharge bonus for slotting at least 5 is also very nice.

Considering how many times I've 5-slotted purple sets for the 10% recharge bonus with no def bonus, I can see myself 5 or 6-slotting this set more often than breaking it up. Depends on what you want to achieve, but defense and a big recharge bonus in one set is very attractive. And, as I said, a Street Justice scrapper has a targeted AoE attack and the other options for that aren't very attractive.

Anyone know if we can use enhancement converters on these things eventually?

You cannot they are all unique. One each io for each toon. So only 6 avail to you as a toon. But you can slot 2 and 2 and 2 and franken slot for a specific performance.

I think that is what Organica and Eeek are talking about, slotting 3 in one power and 3 in another power.

After looking at the prices last night, I went and started buying all I could cheap (under 17M each). I assume Enhancement Converters will work on them. I can buy lots and convert them to random ones. One more set of Enhancements to store up till Enhancement Converters come out. One of these days soon I'll get back to actually playing the game, rather than preparing for Issue 22.
