Level Negative 1.5 billion!

I have no idea what happened, but during a Posi 2 earlier this evening, I was informed that the leader was now level negative 1.5 billion and that I would be kicked from the team if I didn't agree to be exemplared to level 1. I had been suffering from some hideous lag, and I suspect a corrupt packet slipped in somewhere and confused the client.

So, did you?

Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.

I accepted the change, and was left at level 16, just as I had been before. I asked the team, and nobody else had received the popup.

Combat level is represented by a 32 bit signed integer. Huh.

I guess it must be noise, because that number in 31 bits + sign, converted to ASCII is just "ÙýÚ:"

That's an evil emoticon speaking out to the lucky few about their inevitable end.

Come on, it has eyebrows on the eyes and everything!

What should have happened it that your entire team falls over dead, with your combat logs recording things like "A Bacterium impacts your skin for 1578 smashing damage! The Sun burns you with Sunlight for 27451 energy damage!"

Your foot falls 6 inches resulting in .0004 fall damage. Not much, but when you only have 1/100000000 of a point of HP, that's alot of damage

That screenshot is priceless. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm personally very glad that this happened to someone. That is all.

In other words, his level is a frown face with eyebrows?

Good heavens.

Challenge AccepYou have been defeated.

Imagine the kockback from an Nemesis? Staff attack. You'd be blown through the war-walls and out of the computer screen and have this little broken character laying in your lap dying over and over again.

I saw it at Toys R Us once a bit over a year ago.

They have both regular and glow-in-the-dark ammo for it. I immediately thought you could buy both kinds and mix in the glowie ones with the normal ones at regular intervals. You know, tracer rounds.

Actually no. Because I got it wrong. Shows how long it's been since I worked with signed ints to make such a boneheaded mistake. Two's complement, seriously!

1,509,808,698 is 00100110 00000010 00100101 11000110 in binary...

But -1,509,808,698 is 11011001 11111101 11011010 00111010

So the corresponding four characters are "¦%Æ".

...would they be full sized or just as big as they are on the screen? <.<

The real question is why are they using 32 bit signed integers to represent combat level? Seems like overkill to me. I'd have used an 8 bit unsigned integer, but I guess in the end it doesn't really matter!

So, his level is Architect Entertainment, or in other words, "go play with your toys." It seems to fit

Screen size of course.

Remember the alpha slot mission where you're basically a god? Well, you can thank the 32 bit integers!
