Sorcery is Highly wanted when will it come

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us Sorcery Blast/ Sorcery Manipulation

As I said in your other thread, there's a suggestion forum for this stuff. The developers don't usually read the archetype forums, so odds are low that anyone who could even conceivably have a chance to consider implementing your request will read it here.

Second, what would Sorcery Blast/Manipulation do? We already have the ability to blast/manipulate various elements, including energy and darkness. We also have alternate animations for these powers which make them look more spellcast-y. "Sorcery" is a vague concept that has been interpreted as many different ways as there are writers to interpret it. What did you have in mind?

There's enough powers in Co* to call it Sorcery if you just color it and imagine it to be so. Mind and Psi come to mind right off, as well as storm, grav, kin, etc... they're all there, all magically conjurable. Just add bio/RP.

Nosir, what we need in here is Grapple powers as a secondary to Blasts, at least. The ability to swing from building to building. Hang from above using hooks/suction cups/(non-mentionable radioactive non-insect bite induced gripping ability) and blow away the enemy. That sorta thing.

Yep. THAT is what we need in this game, none of that arcane magiks stuff.

/I'll take a BRB or a Moon Zone though, if I can't have the Grapples.

On the other hand folks, let's recall that they certainly haven't shown to be against adding thematically natural, tech, magic, and mutant sets. Giving someone a hard time for wanting a magic themed blast set really isn't terribly fair. Personally I kind of think you could do some fun things with one myself.

I would even say try a controller or dominator too.
I think plant, storm summoning, as well as energy blast, even radiation blast or the elements blast can make a nice sorcery set.
Use the runes aura for hands, for a very nice sorcery effect when blasting.

I don't know that I would support a sorcery blast set, but what I would support would be a wand/staff blast set similar to what the Carnival of Light uses. It could have several different models and the blasts be tintable as well.

I don't see this breaking any more origin boundaries than has already been done with BR/DP/AR.

It could be added across all 3 blast ATs and open up development of future weapon models as well.

We totally have it.

My Blaster who studied under Xagyg can cast Magic Missile, Cone of Cold, Chain Lightning, Fireball, Mass Haste, Summon Lantern Archon.

He's got meta-magic, he can extend spell to increase range, empower spell to increase damage, and a couple of ways to bypass spell resistance (piercing spell).

Sorcery blast...no, It's to limited to a specific origin.

Sorcery manipulation...no, again to limited.

In designing a power, you have to account for EVERY character origin. Not just the power you think "would be cool."

Now, a better suggestion would be an alternate animation for the non-weapon blasts. This could be fashioned like the "Blackwand" vet power. So if i wanted an energy wand, fire wand, sonic wand, or ice wand I could have it.

I personally LOVE the blackwand vet power, just the pure aesthetics of it make me wish I could get a fire wand for my fire/dark blaster.

This way, if you want mage powers you pick the large wand animation rather than wastefully begging for a new powerset that won't happen.

Now I could get behind this if it allowed me to pick and choose the powers I use as a part of it.

Since that is not likely with the game mechanics the way they are, I suggest a more reasonable way of achieving the same effect.

If you have a character thas an 'elementalist' then go for a combination of fire and ice sets. i.e fire Blast/ Ice Control or even plant/stone.

For the classic 'mage bolts' look, I'd suggest energy blast (in whatever color you choose) or perhaps psychic assault.

A 'Dark wizard' can always go for dark blasts (again, choose your color) or again go to energy and just tint in more 'evil'

Sets like empathy, pain domination, force field can fit in nicely with any magical concept. just chnge the look a bit to suit you and voila.

I dont think we need a new powerset, just perhaps a more flexible way of looking at the ones we already have.
