What do you usually spend your Emp merits on?

So I did a buncha trials on my Stalker and I spent merits on vanity stuff (auras mostly because <3 them, especially the path ones), especially since they're account-wide.

But now I'm not sure what is the best way to spend them. Any suggestions? I know they're valuable since 'OMG UG gives two' (and wow that trial is boring - did just once, went very smooth and suddenly it failed at the end because of time and I guess lack of Clarions but anyway, not something I'd like to run more than... thrice I guess, since I basically played through all of it - and I like Keyes and MoM) and all that talk, I just don't know how to make the most use of them.

a lot of people are saving up their emp merits to buy PvP procs. Not sure if they're trying to sell them. I suspect that most of the plp are keeping them to use on their own builds.

I either hoard them or dump them to get the level shift more quickly - making them easier to get - and then start hoarding them.

I still haven't decided what I'd want to spend them on otherwise.

For now, I'm using them to finish buying all the Ascension pieces (Normal and Radiance). Once I finish buying them, I think I'll just save em for whenever they start introducing the new slots. I'm simple.

I use 8 to get rare Incarnate salvage or turn them into Incarnate threads as needed.

When I get all my Incarnate powers maxed then I might consider the costume pieces.

When I first started doing the trials, I broke them down into threads so that I could craft components for powers.

I think I may have bought a few rares with them also.

After I was all t-4ed, I used Emps/Astrals for all the unlocks at the venders in Oro.

After that....... hrm.... one, two, seven, eleventy, ... errrr.....

1-25 Emp merits: I should save these, I'm going to need a VR soon enough.
26-28 Emp merits: Yay, almost there!
29 Emp merits: Get several VR drops in a row.
30 Emp merits: Well, now I'm done with all my slots, including a t4 Clarion just to swap in for UG... I guess I'll use these to buy threads for my next character?

That's how it went for me the last time through.

I've used a few for costume pieces, emotes and such... but the bulk of mine have been used to build Salvage bits. My luck getting Rares from random trial-end drops is notoriously bad, no matter what AT I'm playing or how well the league (much less my own toon-) does. Using e-Merits to build my bits has often been the only way to get them.

I bought every single thing that Empyrean Michael offered.
Now I'm accumulating them in the hope that they become useful again some day.

I never break mine down for threads - I use astrals for that. I save them for glad procs. I'll slot one, then sell one.

I convert the majority of mine into rare/vr salvage. Would not have 8 fully T4'd toons (most of which have 2-3 T4 destiny) if I didn't convert emps to rare/very rare. Don't really need the pvp IOs either, all my toons have glad armor procs already that I've got from hero merits.

I usually turn mine into threads, either for the character that gets them or for whatever character is next on the incarnate block. My latest character to start the trials did so with all five slots unlocked, uncommon abilities in each slot (except Alpha, which had a rare), about half of which came from gifts from my other characters and half of which came from accumulating Notices by being my one character with access to high-level redside content and helping friends with red WSTs.

Sometimes, with characters getting close to finishing incarnating, I'll start hoarding them to turn into rare/VR components, but I generally don't have much of a problem with that and end up burning them off for threads anyway.

I spent them first on costume parts. Now I tend to save them for use to buy Rares when I have everything else to get a particular character to +3 and use all the Very Rares they've gotten (I always seem to be short Rares and Commons). I have too many alts (28 Incarnates, at the moment) to just keep grinding trials with one when I can spend the Emps to move on, so I find that to be the best use for me at the moment.

I've never had to spend them on Rare or Very Rare Incarnate Salvage. I save them for PvP IO recipes and to unlock things that only Empyrean Merits can unlock.*

I would pretty much never break an Empyrean Merit down into threads. Threads are by far and away the easiest thing you can lay your hands on. Most iTrials will drop at least 5-6, and most iTrials also generously drop Astral Merits. There's no daily limit on number of Threads or Astrals you can get, but there are daily limits on Empyrean Merits, unless you run two of the harder iTrials (TPN and MoM) multiple times. Also, Empyrean Merits buy the same things Alignment Merits do, but you can earn them faster. So in pretty much all cases, Empyrean Merits are the most valuable Merit out there.

* Be careful when spending Empyrean Merits on unlocks. There is overlap in the things you can unlock with Astral and Empyrean Merits. Don't spend Empyreans on things you can spend Astrals on instead.

I don't really have the patience or desire to grind enough to save up enough to unlock something like a PvP IO. I tend to break them down into threads when I need the threads. (I didn't even know you could save them up for rare Incarnate salvage. May have to try that next time I'm waiting on a piece.)

Also bought all of Ascension Radiance and the Electrical Path aura because they looked cool.
