Constant Map Server Disconnects
I was perfectly fine yesterday and today crashed about 6 times -- when loading into mishes, zoning out of Ouro and even once while using train to Croa...
Windows updated a good amount today but the crashes had started prior to those updates!
(They were MapServs like you stated and I do not have AMD so it shouldn't be a driver issue like others I know)

Same here. I don't know what happened but yesterday I was perfectly fine...today I'm getting mapserved all the time. It is making the game impossible to play. I hope they have a fix on this really, really soon else I won't be able to play until it is.

Buahahahaha!
I am having the same issue. I have given up playing for tonight, I hope they fix it by this weekend.
I am both happy and sad to know that there are others in my boat. They are taking the game down for maintenance today, so hopefully they will find/fix something going on with the Map Server as well.
-=fingers crossed=-

Are the mapserver disconnects still happening after today's patch (December 15)?

Yes, still happening and incredibly frustrating. I might stop playing until it's resolved. It makes it almost impossible to play.

Buahahahaha!
I was having the same problem last night.
The strange thing is that it seemed to be the account that had the problem not my client. I could run one account just fine, I could dualbox with other accounts, but one account just kept mapserving.
It wasn't the usual mapserve either. The game client would just stop and the only thing I could do was bring up the task manager to terminate the client. All while the other account kept chugging along.
Today all is well.
The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

Just finished a DFB and didn't mapserve on the way in but on the way out at 4:09pm I did
Oh and just in case:

Can you guys do something about the fact that my trays emptied on both on my toons I logged on today? You guys know this is happening when are you going to address this?

The mapserving is upsetting lol -- I'm sure they will work on resolving it but it will totally crush my game play on a weekend, the only thing I can do is hunt atm since everything else eventually causes a crash. At one point last night I was able to run 3 mishes with no issue but then on the completion of the 4th I crashed and just logged for the night!

Someone else reported that their issues were coming from bitdefender.

Which AV programs are people running?
Edit: often these things turn out to be software issues from programs other than CoH

I use Norton and CoH is on its friendly list -- hubby thinks it is a memory leak issue but I have no idea!
(also I have used the repair thingamabobber on the installer and it hasn't helped)

Meowtch,
I'd recommend turning Ambient Occlusion off entirely, lowering World Detail to High, turning Bloom Off, setting Depth of Field Enabled to No and lowering the Water Quality to High rather than Ultra.
Those settings are pushing the card harder than it should be run and could be having a factor in your mapserves.
EDIT: Since hubby thinks it may be a memory leak, I'll ask another question. Do you have the NCLauncher set to close once it has launched the game? Not just minimize to the tray, but close entirely. This could help a lot as well. I'd recommend following the steps in Hyperstrike's Guide: How to make the new NCSoft Launcher as unobtrusive as possible that is stickied here in this forum section.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

I'll give it a whirl TX, thank you -- what sucks is that it was never an issue before

When I zone, the game crashes. When I try to enter my SG base, the game crashes. When I log out to the character selection screen, the game crashes. When I try to enter a mission, the game crashes. If I log back in, it tells me that the account is already logged in.
Occasionally it doesn't crash when I zone, but then this always happens: The loading screen appears with <5% loaded(small amount on the loading bar), it sits on that screen for a couple seconds, then it flashes a new loading screen and starts from 0% until it fills the bar and I actually zone. To me it seems like something's happening during zoning that causes a mapserver disconnect, but I don't have a B.S. in Computer Science so that's just a guess on my part.
The game is unplayable at this point, it's just an exercise in frustration to even try. The bug that wiped most of my character's power trays was trivial compared to this, annoying, but I was still able to play the game on Tuesday. The failure cascade began Wednesday afternoon, and has continued ever since.
If I stay in one zone, and just pick up gifts, the game runs fine. So I did that for about an hour last night until I grew so bored that I tried to enter a mission...and the game crashed just like I knew it would. This is ridiculous.
It's not fun to receive such a nicely wrapped gift only to unwrap it and find a lump of coal.
Meowtch: I don't see anything that jumps out on your CoH helper.
Edit: the settings should be ok, I am just trying to figure out what the common cause is.

Just since the patch today I, every time I attempt to load into a mission, 1 out of 5 attempts is succseful and the other 4 results in a MapServer disconnect.
Happens on both my PCs, anyone else seeing this too?
