I'm pretty sure that consumables and ATIOs are going to ignore the no-repeat rules. If they don't, there will be an even bigger outcry than there is already. Being only able to get one set of, f'rex, the Scrapper ATIO ever through cards would make people livid. And, wow, the prices in inf for trading them would be INSANE. (And the ATIO enhancers would have to be repeatable by design.) Also, it would be crazy from the point of view of profit not to allow people to spend money on packs to slot ATIOs on multiple characters of the same AT.

The costume set being spread across all rarities sounds nice on the face of it. However, what it means is that a (relatively) low number of pack purchases will get you most of the costume pieces in the set. Not all. Probably not the nicest and most significant ones, assuming the packs are designed by people who want to make money. Then you're chasing the pieces from the Rare and Very Rare brackets, where the Very Rare are competing with 72 ATIOs plus ATIO enhancers, plus whatever else is in that pool. Not such good odds.

You demanded that a forum moderator give you specific numbers relating to a game feature that isn't even in beta yet?

I can't imagine why you would expect that to go ignored.

Challenged, not demanded. There's a unsubtle difference there. And I don't need the numbers just a commitment that the real numbers will be released.

There are many reasons why these numbers would be kept secret. Pretty much all of them are not to the benefit of the consumers. If Paragon expects us to believe that they're not trying to soak us for a quick buck, it would behoove them to back up their talk with numbers.

'Guaranteed rare or vrare' was their first attempt. It pretty much died a laughable death when it was revealed that Windfall counted as a rare drop.

Who said they expect us to believe that?

They're a business. Their sole purpose is to make a "quick buck." Anyone who doesn't believe that is incredibly naive so I doubt they're really trying to fool anyone.

Granted, they are much better than most of the basic 6. But they will be available basically for free at launch as an early-adopter sale.

Are you freaking kidding me? Then it literally IS GAMBLING, and is thus exposing Paragon Studios to LEGISLATION which regulates this.

It's not a ccg because you can't trade the stuff. It's more akin to collecting stickers for one of those sticker collection books (which feature super heroes galore, but I don't hear anybody complaining about THAT) or putting a quarter into a temporary tattoo or gumball machine. I must not be the only kid that was told I was allergic to red food coloring. So yes, it was a "gamble" in your apparent definition of the word that there was a chance that buying a gumball with a quarter would be worth it. Because I might end up with a gumball I couldn't chew.

This is not a controversy. And quit treating it like a catastrophe.

I sincerely doubt that baseball cards are such a gateway vice.

On the contrary, you can trade some of the stuff.

That's interesting.
Seems like a new thing that might work. You offer the lesser versions of the store bought stuff to be traded around so that anyone can get them and see what they're like. That seems like it would be a good way to spread the word about them and to advertise the value of the upgraded ones.
