In Living Color returns to Fox in 2012
Crap! Between this and Beavis & Butthead, it's clear that my generation is finally in position to inflict our nostalgia on everyone else. Sorry about that, kids.

I remember waiting all week to watch The Simpsons and In Living Color on fox. In Living Color was a great show up until season 4.
And honestly, how can you not like the show that gave us Jim Carey?
A great sketch comedy of from back in the day. SNL was ok, but I was a big fan of ILC.
Memorable stars:
all 29 of the Wayan brothers and a sister I think
Jim Carey
David Alan Grier
Tommy Davidson
Chris Rock (temp member I think)
Jamie Foxx
and a bunch of others...
Dont forget the Fly Girls...famous ones being:
Carrie Ann Inaba (DWTS judge)
Jennifer Lopez

In Living Color was good! For the first, probably what another poster said, four seasons. But then it went down hill, when it started losing original cast members.
However, figure this won't have that cast either, sooo It's a return sure, but in name only really. Only time will tell if it's any good.

In Living Color was a very funny show. Much like Dave Chappelle before his nervous breakdown, one of the great things about the show was how politically incorrect it was. It wasn't afraid of poking fun of things that nowadays are considered taboo to even talk about, much less make fun of. Assuming that the show doesn't get castrated by the politically-correct busybody brigade, it should be worth checking out.
For example, it will be interesting to see if In Living Color will be willing to poke fun of Barack Obama directly--something that SNL and most comedic late night talk show hosts have been deathly afraid of doing.
There were some good stuff there. And it brought in the perspective of African American experience which was sorely lacking in other shows.
But... there was a lot of infantile stuff, too, reminiscent of four year olds who cackle hysterically just by saying the word 'booger.' And if you need 'fly girls' to strut T&A to bring in an audience... well, just how good is your humor, then? And speaking of 'fly girls', the show was a bit too 'boys club'. It was empowering to African Americans but demeaning to women.
And when you churn out the same stuff for four years, how can you still be 'edgy' without crossing the line to the gross or obscene?
The show was a product of its time. If it reaches back for the same formula, it will fail horribly. Cf. the Laugh-in revival.

All new cast? Over 10 years later? What about this show will make it the same as the original In Living Color? Why not just call it a different sketch comedy show? Oh yeah - to try and cash in on the name alone. Right.
I say bring on the "fly girls." There's nothing wrong with that at all. What? You mean the same show is going to make me laugh my butt off--and show me hot dancing girls? Now, that's entertainment!
As a side note, I hate how castrated and feminized American culture has become in the past couple of decades. I think that a little "boy's club" entertainment would be a breath of fresh air.
I love the guy. Ace Ventura 1 and 2 are hilarious. Dumb and Dumber is a classic. And how can you not like Me Myself and Irene? Granted the last thing that he did that I liked was Bruce Almighty and that was years ago, but I love the guys wacky acting style.

I find Eddie Izzard funny. I find most of Monty Python's sketches funny. I don't find "Booger booger fart butt!" level humor funny - didn't when I was a kid, either - and Jim Carrey seemed to not want to get past that. Every time I tried watching ILC, it seemed they, and he were at that level... so, yeah. For Jim Carrey, it's worse, since he's shown (again, Truman Show) he can do *SO* much better. He could be brilliant - but he wants to keep being the fool.

We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...
Maybe this new version will actually be funny. If it manages to not have Jim Carrey or *any* Wayans in it, that'll be a step in the right direction.

Homey don't play dat.
Eh. To me, people that acted like that were put in "special needs" classes, not called "comedians." I don't find acting like a hyped up four year old funny.

Also, SNL makes fun of the president, congress and politics on a regular basis. Its great stuff

I am, of course, kidding. It just seems you're judging these things from a distance and I've never been a fan of such things. Did you watch The Number 23? Or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? Or Bruce Almighty? Or Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events? Or The Majestic?
If anything, I beg to you to watch Man on the Moon. His portrayal of Andy Kaufman *IS* brilliant.
Monty Python dips into the juvenile and crass humour as well. Doing that well is no simple task. ILC almost invariably did it poorly. Mike Myers tends to do it poorly. Robin Williams and Bob Saget regularly fail at it in their stand-up. Meanwhile, Monty Python, Benny Hill, occasionally Mel Brooks, and even Dave Chappelle often use such devices well. Is it delivery? Timing? Wit? Subtlety? Beats me.
