New Halloween Costume Pieces: Video/Pics/Info
This is Insane Rick. Insane Rick is insane, and more than a little dense, but he was born with the mutant power to survive and heal from any injury, which is the only thing that has kept him alive to this day. One day, Insane Rick decided that he would be happier without his head. After a bit of thought, tick decided to remove his head with the help of heavy construction equipment. Rick's head never grew back, but he didn't seem to be any worse off for it. When a mad scientist noticed a man walking around the back alleys without a head yet still somehow alive, he took Rick in to serve as a guinea pig for his experiments. Rick didn't seem to mind. He didn't think he'd miss his arms, anyway, and the cool mechanical replacements the scientist gave him seemed to work just fine. Eventually, the mad scientist was arrested by police and Insane Rick had to be rehabilitated into normal society. To his surprise, most people didn't want to be friends with a man who had no head and refused to wear clothes. Such strange people. But Rick was good person and tried to help people anyway. So when those nice bank robbers came to rob the bank and shot several magazines into his chest, Rick politely asked them to leave. When they refused, he removed their heads, but unlike him, they did not prove as good at living life without a head. These days, Insane Rick lives on the streets and doesn't eat or sleep, but this doesn't seem to bother him. He tries to be nice to people, but they usually scream and run away. He tries to be nice to bad people, too, but they usually try to hurt him. And when Rick returns the favour, the always seem to die, somehow. It's all very strange and confusing to Rick. He just wants to help. In the eyes of some, he is a hero. In the eyes of others, he is a monster. In his own eyes... Well, he doesn't really have eyes any more. |
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
Well in fairness we've already HAD things like this for past Valentines events (Wedding Pack). So extrapolating that with this new fancy-pants marketplace and the relative ease of publishing things on it that we might again isn't exactly the greatest logic leap I've ever seen.

How exactly did you folks get the glass on the bowl to vanish like that?

"Dark Armor is a complete waste as a tanking set."
All I know is, The Facepuncher is getting a faceless costume courtesy of the Think Tank head.
Great set, devs. Love it.

2260 - The Burning of Hearts - A green-eyed monster holds the match.
379248 - The Spider Without Fangs - NEW - Some lessons learned (more or less.)
Brain-in-a-Jar, Fishface, and Dracula Collar are must-haves by themselves, but the package deal including the other pieces I don't have immediate uses for is too good to pass up. With quality pieces like these, I'm willing to gamble inspiration may strike later. Take my money, devs!
And now to come up with a suitable backstory for the villainous Goldfishfinger. Perhaps James Bond meets The Shadow Over Innsmouth...
And Samuraiko Productions' fashion department is about to get a boost... wow.

First off, the pics here and in the other thread look amazing! There are a lot of potential costume ideas here.
That being said...
It is times like these that I am glad I am at work when I first read about this stuff, and therefore unable to make impulse buys. In truth, had I been at home upon first reading about this stuff, I probably would have hit "Buy" without a second thought. But since I have had time for a second thought: I am not sure if I will buy this pack, and that genuinely surprises me! I have no concepts (existing or ideas) that will use anything in this pack. I am looking forward to the Murder of Crows CCE, but that's only obtainable through the event.
Thankfully, I have the next month (and another 400 point stipend) to change my mind. Guess I'll have to see what comes out between now and then...
@Winter. Because I'm Winter. Period.
I am a blaster first, and an alt-oholic second.
...dammit!

Story Arcs I created:
Every Rose: (#17702) Villainous vs Legacy Chain. Forget Arachnos, join the CoT!
Cosplay Madness!: (#3643) Neutral vs Custom Foes. Heroes at a pop culture convention!
Kiss Hello Goodbye: (#156389) Heroic vs Custom Foes. Film Noir/Hardboiled detective adventure!
Oh cool! I got my points for October a week early! I guess I'll save them for when....
...what? Halloween costume pack?!

MUHAHAHA!
Brain-in-a-jar was the only thing missing for the great King Helsingard from conquering paragon city!
NO LONGER!
Now I just have to get Titan melee and I can start playing him.
I'm sure some one will report me. Even so long live Atomic Robo!
I love the snake hair. It's a crying shame it's not animated, but I understand why it wasn't. Even so...waaaant
The halloween faces are fugly as hell...even more so than an intentional 'ugly' look should be >_>
But I love me the brain in a jar. And the snake hair. Did I mention how much I love the snake hair?
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Can't really get rid off the bowl and bowl is always partially visible unless you're in a very shady environment or in dark;
Would be legit if you could get rid off the bowl.
The moment I heard about this pack, I thought "Mystic_Fortune likes this."

"There's no head I can use that looks right."
You can imagine at that point I was smiling as I had to keep my mouth shut.
Hope you're all enjoying the pack!
Piranha don't have eyestalks. Would be nice if those were moved off to some head detail section or something. But otherwise it all looks cool, and the brain in a jar is pretty amazing. Just knowing that we can have a see-through space where our head is supposed to be gives me hope of having a real skeleton set some day, where you can see right through the ribs.
But doggone it I just got my monthly stipend and I was hoping to save it up for the next powerset! But how can I not buy a brain in a jar? I have never in my life turned down the opportunity to buy a brain in a jar and I'm not going start now!

This pack sets a new standard for quality. I love it. And IMO it is perfectly priced at 400 points.
Frankly, between this, Barbarian, and Steampunk, the quality of the average player costume I see in game has increased tremendously. What I really love about all three of those packs is that they contain many pieces that are useful across a variety of possible characters and are just strange enough to really make an impact.
The only thing I'm not really crazy about is the normal mapped faces and a few parts that don't retint completely. Even with those aspects though I still love it.
Huge kudos BTW to whoever animated the bat aura. It looks so good that IMO it could be the basis for an entire "Avian Control" set. With the ability to recolor the "birds" and maybe choose between insects or birds it would really be an awesome looking "Hold" or "Slow" power.
