Well, I did manage to find a good use for the Kilt.

I maintain the Long Skirt would have looked even better.

Believe me, I will happily stand on the Devs side when I believe they are in the right.

This time is not one of them. 'Because it clips' is an excuse (yes, excuse, not a reason) that is as old as Statesman's underwear. And it STILL hasn't stopped pretty much every costume piece to date, the vast majority of which can and will clip with a variety of other pieces. Hell, certain female shoes still clip with the feet they are on. If that's not double-standards I don't know what is.

Try trousers with boots on any none standard sized female character. It either clips at the backof the leg, or at the front of the leg, heck some even clip through the back and the front of the leg.

I am with Tech here, this is one of those times where it sounds more like and excuse than a reason. I guess the smart thing to do (this is directed at you marketing) would to have been to tell us ahead of time the items that would not work, and that we were not getting. Either way there would be complaining, but it would have been less time with us getting our hopes up.

I can't imagine that the long skirt would clip with any animations that the pencil skirt for females doesn't.

And the pope hat isn't that much taller than the hat from the magic pack.

I have to agree though. If the CoT were redesigned so that players could use their costume pieces, why are there so many that players are not allowed to use? It boggles the mind.

So because they haven't stuck perfectly to their aspiration of minimal clipping, they should abandon it entirely and just release any old junk players ask for regardless of whether there are any pieces you can use that it doesn't clip with? I'd much rather the devs at least try to keep some modicum of polish on the content they release. This remains the superhero MMO with the best general character look precisely because they take care not to add pieces that look awful, forty nine times out of fifty.

Although.. I suppose they could just stop making new pieces of stuff all together and instead just rework all the old costumes. But i supposed then people would get hiffy and mad and start complaining nothing new is coming out. LOL

I have no doubt that there are current NPC-only items that would clip horribly if they were allowed to be used by our characters. But I think the issue here is not the obvious problem items but the "marginal" problem items. I think some of us would simply like more discretion to decide for ourselves if a certain questionable item can be used or not. I tend to believe that the Devs have, in general, been a tad too conservative in this area.

Posi himself said his "working cutoff" for an item clipping too bad is if it clipped with roughly 20% or more items. I happen to think his threshold for this ought to be more like 50%. That extra 30% would give us many more opportunities than we have now.

New non-clipping revamps of all the old costume pieces: 200 points each in the Paragon Market!

Hopefully if Freedom makes them enough money they can do both, have team one reworking stuff, team two making new stuff.

Would even make for good on the job training, you're not allowed to make new stuff till you've proven your merit reworking the old stuff.

Now that I think is a great thought!

Not like that's been a major request for, oo, years now?

Wait...

Kilts' leg geometry for males seems wrong; looks thinner than it should be. I suspect the female leg geometry is used instead. I've reported this issue back when Kilts were released (it's probably time to report again). That bug sets me away from even thinking about Kilts for my characters, which will probably make me avoid those awesome CoT kilts.

Thanks for the comments on the costume.

I agree with this, the reworks are something they could make some poor intern do. If it passes inspection, stick it in the game, if it fails move on.

Again with the strapped gloves though, they are no bigger than the Ascension gloves, yet those are in the game.

The problem here is that this is a set that people were really excited about, and it seems to have been excessively trimmed before it was given to us.

I, like many here, am sick to death of getting shortchanged on these NPC conversions. I don't care if they clip with 20% of the available costume pieces, that's still 80% they WON'T clip with. Just like with the IDF pieces, I wanted to make a costume that looks like the group's bosses, but instead I'm stuck with looking like the minions. This is not acceptable! At least with this set I can voice my displeasure by not buying it.

Issue 16 made me feel like this.

Heck I'd probably pay 400 PP just to get a "Tights Sleek" version of Bikini 2.

No, I'm saying what the Dev's seem to view as 'minimal clipping' (which seems about as mercurial as said liquid/metal/element) and the Player view seem vastly disjointed. And I would wager the Dev version is a lot more draconian without much actual point to it...

While the entire CoT redesign has been a complete waste of time...

...I gotta agree with not including the pope hats. They would look SO STUPID poking out of force field bubbles.

They haven't been free for a long time. I actually quit the game a few issues ago because I was tired of having to pay for every new costume part.

In this state, they're kind of free. You get 400 points per month and as long as the prices stay as they are you can afford a new costume pack every month without having to actually pay more than you already are. Though the encroaching $1 per part thing could be a threat to that (looking at you, backpack and volcanic aura).

Though, I'll be bummed if I don't have enough points for StJ and/or TW.

I'm still mad about the lack of big PPD and IDF gloves...

There is literally NO good reason for that. David mentioned the 'forcefield/energy raction sfx' being unique to IDF and PPD...so why not REMOVE the damn sfx? I don;t even want that, I just want the gloves!

But wait, I thought everyone was deleting their force fielders, and nobody was going to roll new ones, since it's outclassed by Time and Cold?

Since that is the case, I fail to see the problem with tall hats
