A Thorny Sneakpeak?
"The Best" and "most desired" are opinions.
The more exotic something is, the less use you can get out of it, and therefore a tougher decision for the art team to spend more time on (or not) giving to us. I'd rather they give us a set that's in the same general family as the look the NPCs have, and make parts that are more interchangable with parts that aren't a part of the set, than spend an inordinate amount of time giving us a special hat so 5% of the players can use it on one costume. |
I do still think it is only a matter of time, and the money we are willing to spend on it too. Which it is hard to blame them for. The goal is to make money, and it is proven that costumes is something the company can make money on. I am not defending the practice, just being a realist.
I want those items...BAD. I get the impression that this ship has sailed though, and nothing will be added till the next CoT pack. Humm, things like this, and the party pack are just more clear reasons why the marketing dept. is so.....disliked.

Just noticed the lowbie CoT male minions have a v-shape thing that continues down the hood to around just below the ribcage, while the female hoods end pretty much as the ones that we got with the bundle.

The big hats have the same sort of v-shaped thing that continues down. And as mentioned before, still no female Lt/boss types.
Wouldn't have minded seeing the tiny capes that some of the mages wear, and the back detail that the Death Mages sport. That would've been nice.
I just wanted to say that I agree, as players and followers of the game, we're spoiled by the treatment from the dev team. Thanks guys.
Having said that, I think it would be fair to either let us know if they are reconsidering adding more to the pack/creating an additional pack.
Will there be a "long robes" pack coming? A "Haberdash" pack with all sorts of cranial coverings? Perhaps even a "hey we missed this sundry stuff previously, enjoy" packs with loads of little additions?
I am not angry mind you, just saddened that as responsive as the team can be, they never really seem to say much. We've asked for long robes for...how old is the game now?
Clipping. Indeed. Just saddened.
I don't really see them commenting on this again. It was nice that Positron at least came in and gave the possible reasoning behind some things being left out, though.

And I really was looking forward to that damn hat.

Well I figure we can either be annoying on a forum post...
Or.

Send them peanuts!
(I kid, no one flood Paragon with peanuts...those poor people wouldn't know what to do with that much attention in foodstuffs.)
What a waste of time and resources.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
I logged in today after a long period of inactivity (interest: fading) ,decided to do newspaper missions with CoT and check the tailor for costume pieces.
Wanted to type why the whole CoT re-design was a big fail, but others already did it better. So I will just quote DumpleBerry.
Hey everyone,
I know there is some disappointment in a few of the COT pieces that didn't make it into the package, and I want to dispel some of the rumors that we do this to keep unique pieces in the NPC's hands. What is more likely the case is that the pieces in question clash with over 20% of the other pieces in that area (cutting through geometry, in general looks really bad). In these cases we reserve the right to withhold these pieces in order to maintain the good looking characters you guys are capable of. Not an answer that will make everyone happy, but we do our best to ensure that a vast majority of our costumes, current, past, and future, work with everything else. Not everything will fit the bill, and just work with one or two other pieces, but that is a situation we work hard to avoid in the first place. Sometimes a look just has to win out though, and the piece gets made anyway. It's just that we work under slightly different guidelines when concepting and making parts for an NPC group than we do for PC costumes. |

EDIT: I understand the whole issue with making it work, thouggh I disagree and would instead approve of getting it fixed so that we can actually get the parts that were most desired. Energy Mages and others got those high collar-cowls but they're not even in the list for being acquired. I honestly don't care about clipping, the shoulders with the raised collars and that cape they had ( forming what I'd consider an armored cowl ) were the only parts I really wanted. What a tease this is.
I thought the whole revamp of the CoT (for an example) was to better design NPCs under the player bodytype so that parts would soon be interchangeable. You shouldn't care if someone wants to run around as a Statesman look alike, which is already possible, let them. Is that not what this game got so popular from... the amount of variety.
We got some chump in First Ward with a full chested piece of the Defense set that would of been cooler than the basic chest-detail we got from it instead. Come on now.
so earlier I was trying to make a custom CoT group (because fighting followers, behemoths, more behemoths, ice thorn casters, and death mages gets boring) in AE and I REALLY would like to reiterate my wish for the rest of the CoT pieces.

And darn straight I would have found uses for them. I'm sure some of my skyscraper-people could have re-purposed the hat, and lots of my characters would have flipped for the robes. I've never been a "men in tights" type when it comes to character creation, I've always had a thing for robes in all variations. So having those cool CoT costume parts would make me much happier than I am. Seriously Posi, I beg you and whoever else decided these things to reconsider- I know a lot of people would be thrilled to pieces, and this thread would be full of happiness instead of disappointment.
