No. You have *a gripe*. That is all. And sure, you can post them. Doesn't mean others are precluded from rebutting the single-buttocked points made.

Im sure for you, this is no big deal. Youll go play Gears 3, yell down stairs to mom when you want lunch and then play tonight only to rinse and repeat tomorrow. But the rest of us who work have limited playing time and have a right to be angry.
No. I'm at work with a bit of downtime and was hoping to bounce my new tank on Exalted a few more levels.

My mom lives in Florida. But thanks for your concern on her behalf.

And unless you're putting in 60-80 hours a week, don't tell me about "limited downtime". Not griping about my job. I get paid RIDICULOUSLY well for it. But I put in a LOT of hours.

Ummm, I dont know about everyone, but I check my email and spam folder on a daily basis. And why would you not use your real email?

You are digging deep for those aren't you?

This is ridiculous and I'm sure he knows it. Just ignore him, at this point his pandering has gone into completely ludicrous territory.

Well, there we go. Good timing, wife is coming home in about an hour from a root canal visit at the dentist.
Rule of thumb, no matter how bad the maintenance feels, there is always someone feeling worse

Having worked, directly and indirectly, with customers over the years, I can tell you that's a flat out lie at best. It's simply a platitude offered when making an attempt to retain business. At some point, the merchant STILL has to put a foot down and make a decision between retaining a possibly impossible customer and letting that person go and focusing on other customers who are easier to satisfy.

Sit on an overloaded server, waiting for your powers to recharge and then tell me there's "no benefit".

These measures are PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE. To make sure you don't have to deal with a crappy in-game experience.

Quote:
In reality what this will mean for the paying subscriber is an increased server loads resulting in more lag in game when f2p arrives along with the influx of new players and throwaway accounts..
Actually, the server upgrades mean you shouldn't see more server-based lag issues.

Quote:
Devs, at least stop treating us like all this work is necessary and for the benefit of the already existing paying customer base, because it's not. Unless of course you all plan on giving vip subscibers a small commision on all monies your going to make from future f2p related sales..
Since, save for Exalted, you're playing on all the same servers as the freebies, the claim that this work isn't beneficial to you is disingenuous at best.

We pay real money not silly paragon points to play this game.. Compensation of some kind would be most welcome please.

You ever tried this? May i quote one line from a ticket i had on my 'complain' (in the days of Going Rogue regarding US and EU codes).

Im pretty sure if they did what you say [since your an EXPERT it seems], then they would lose the EU playerbase and then we'll see just how impossible we are . . . .

But geez get out of your own *** If you think EU players asking for less downtime in their primetime makes us impossible then you really are living in some fantasy world O_o

Play during EU primetime and tell me theres an overloaded server. This "overload" you talk about . . . . . it never happens before midnight our time.

Yeah, they had a massive hardware migration a couple weeks back.

Turns out they should have bypassed the SuperServer +1 and gone straight to the SuperServer+5.

They're rectifying it now by swapping up to even MORE powerful hardware. And, as of right now, the servers are back up.

And no offense, but asking for a refund on *any* amount of gametime (timewise/money wise) is an account issue

  • For the people that mention the server list merge, that was a HUGE positive for the EU players as a whole. A large majority of us have made more friends and speaking on behalf of union, the server population did increase.
  • For mentioning those costume competitions at early hours. Since there was only 3 costume competitions, either the EU or the NA would have to lose out on one and so i aint fussed that EU only got "1" costume competition in our primetime. Costume competition is a costume competition.
  • For the posters telling EU players complaining to stop, no. As is said in many threads, we pay our subscription just the same as you and if we feel that we are being short changed in any shape or form then as a paying customer we have every right to voice our concerns/complaints.
  • For the posters saying EU should just accept it, no. A lot of the posters who are telling the EU to be quiet are quite well respected people on these forums and i am quite shocked and dissapointed in those players who usually seem quite sensible. Yes we do complain a lot but we are a large portion of the community.
  • In regard to people saying [including myself] that for once we'ld like to see NA downtime, there is a genuine reason for this. Its not something as petty as "punish" them and not us, no. The reason is we'ld like to proove to you doubters that these forums would explode [if they let you log in] from the NA players ranting about their playtime being gone. I do remember the one time not so long ago servers were down for you players and there WAS a lot of multiple threads full of rage and "omg!??!".
  • Is it overreacting people asking for a days worth of free time added to their account? Not in the slightest. Asking for the money back would be childish, asking for the amount of lost time the EU has lost in the last few weeks is acceptable by a lot of paying customers.
  • Finally a small story. My younger brother and friend both started playing this game about 2 weeks before i21. Both have quit now, their reason? They loved the game but didnt want to pay to play a game which is mostly down during their playtime.
Thursday 22sept: 9 hours downtime
Tuesday 20th sept: 3 hours downtime
Saturday 17th sept: 4 hours downtime
Thursday 15th sept: 4 hours downtime
Wednesday 14th sept: 2 hours downtime
Tuesday 13th sept: 12+ hours downtime [i21 we'll forgive!]

So since i21 launch there has been [note that they are the scheduled downtime, there was infact a lot more] 30+ hours downtime nearly all during EU primetime.
Facts.

Well done sir.

Can I trouble one of you tech experts to translate Freitag's post for me?

They discovered an issue that ... caused them to bring the servers back sooner than planned? Does that mean they had to abort the hardware upgrade (and therefore that they'll do it another time), or does it mean that somehow the upgrade turned out to be easier (faster) than they'd thought?

Just curious; it seems like an odd way to phrase a good event.

It's not zero benefit at all -- think of it as if they don't do these infrastructure upgrades, then they won't be able to support the mass of free players who enter, enjoy the play experience, and switch into paying premiums and VIPs. And if they can't support these new paying customers, they'll lose the business case for maintaining the servers and game for anyone at all. We current VIP's get a huge benefit -- the game doesn't close shop and shut down.

You're dealing in physical goods. This is an electronic service.

And if your bosses want to give away their product, that's cool. It's up to them. Willing to bet they're dealing with relatively low-value items (i.e. they're not a Ferrari dealership).

It could well have been due to the fact that MARTy seems to be trigger on players when they login to the game... it does clear after 10 minutes or so, but there is that problem. Looks like they have a fix for it though already
