If the land was actually worth $100k its impossible no one would offer you more than $30k. If you can't get more than $30k, its probably because your ability to estimate the value of land is egregiously bad.
Theoretical value of a product versus the potential buyer assigning worth can indeed be different.

Market logic has very little merit in this thread because all the facts are not present.

Back on topic...I am not surprised by NCsoft's response to the players. I am disappointed that they could not come to some other type of arrangement. Whether their attempts were genuine or not is irrelevant in my mine. The fact of the matter now is on November 30, 2012 NCsoft will continue with the their original plan and close City of Heroes. I was sincerely hoping that our petition, emails, and spotlight would sway NCsoft. Again, I am extremely disappointed in this situation and still have a bit of hope for some sort of last minute rescue as stated in an earlier post.

That's the part I am having the hardest time with as well. As a company diversity can be profitable. Recognizing you'll never be the best at one thing, it makes sense to be good at a variety of things. Recently, I've noticed a change or a shift in company cultures where they want to "streamline" or "realign" their structure to a "lets put all our eggs in one basket" sort of mentality and this has been going on for awhile and not just in the MMO community either.

For instance, lets say that I'm a racer and I manage a profitable company that races cars, motorcycles, and airplanes. I know I will never be number one in any of those fields. So I decide to streamline my business. Since, the airplane division doesn't make as much money as I hoped, I make a decision to only race vehicles on the ground now. It wouldn't make sense to dispose of my airplane by simply destroying it. The airplane is an asset, people enjoy watching it race, there is a community built around this plane. I need to respect that. If I sell this asset, it poses no business threat to me because I already have my "wheeled crowd" and in reality its where I have decided to focus my business culture on anyway. I will acquire money for this asset which will help me develop deeper into car and motorcycle racing while leaving the airplane community to do it's thing.

The same is true here. The Asian market is where NCSoft wants to focus...we get that. An announcement to the effect of "We at NCSoft have realigned as a company and wish to focus elsewhere. We are actively looking for a suitable replacement company to take over and continue City of Heroes. We thank you for your past business and will keep you updated as information becomes available." would've been an easier pill to swallow.

The decision to burn CoH is simply poor.

    /endrant

It's nice though that some people are getting a bit of a refund and there is some direction with regards to the game closure. Kudos to Zwill and company, I know PS had a big part in the recent announcement.
  3. That's part of the problem, the AT's are so unique I don't think you'll be able to easily emulate the Dominator or very few others for that matter, at least from my experience.

I've been looking hard lately at other MMO's and there isn't anything in the sea of regurgitated MMO drivel that can compare with our beloved DOMs.
  4. I'm having a ton of fun with my updated Stalker build and thought I would share it.

I 100% agree w/this as well. I can't count how many times this has happened to me and for whatever reason it gets under my skin. Even more so than the old ION (before the change). Apparently, you cannot haunt the dead, or should I say defeated.

I consider this a bug too.

I thought this too at first, but I've had 4 out at once many of times. My recharge is sitting somewhere around 115% before hasten and Haunt is up most times when needed.

It constantly griefs my Warshade's self buffs and AOE's, and it doesn't contribute anything worthwhile enough to cover the loss. A Peacebringer on a team of 7 Warshades is the equivelant of subtracting one Warshade from the team. 6 Warshades can do things more efficiently than 7 Warshades and one Peacebringer. I have an even better example for you. Do you know how many times we did an ITF for KF's? There were always Peacebringers there, there were always defeats, and it always took a relatively long time. The other day, myself, AIB, and DoomRider did a three Warshade MoITF more quickly than any of the ITF's that were ever done on KF's. I suspect a lack of Peacebringers hindering progress had a lot to do with that.
You make a comment like that on a Kheldian forum. Seriously? You're making a fool of yourself. It's time to get out for your mom's basement and go for a walk and chill.

Knockback is part of the game m-e-c-h-a-n-i-c-s, leave it alone. Please stop ramming your play style down other players throats.

The OP has an idea, which I personally like. It's creative, unique, and I think it's worthy of a mature discussion. Unfortunately, I doubt that will happen now. Be that as it may, it's time to go knockback a few foe with my sub par Peacebringer

You seem to be the only one around here that knows what is going on all the time. Are you employed by NC soft? If so, I am surprised the company allows you to divulge this type of information. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to correct many wrong, misguided, or misinformed customers/players. I for one, salute you and your consistent, in depth look into the minds at work that keep CoX alive everyday.

I personally don't intend to be using the alignment token (hope that's ok). However, I did think about it today. I have recently (due to I22 stalker changes) started playing my beloved stalker again. I prefer the blue side content and currently she is a villain. So, instead of dropping some points, I'm going to run her through some alignment missions and hopefully I'll get a little inspiration to rekindle a backstory and or concept for the misguided hunter

I can see a use and I am glad they have introduced these tokens. Keep up the good work!

You're wrong, relying on break frees when you have an easily perma incarnate power at your disposal to be incorporated as part of your end game build makes very little sense w/regards to Kheldians, most players utilize their incarnate powers to their full potential no matter the AT. I know all to well break frees still work on builds with clarion equipped, but why would you bother unless you were exempted down below mid 40's and don't have excess to dwarf? With that being said, if you don't have access to the incarnate system due to account privileges (it could be considered a luxury in this regard) or you simply don't believe in the incarnate system at all, or want to take a different path and chose something other than clarion for your kheld, by all means fill your inspiration tray with break frees and have a party.
If you are having issues with getting mezzed, break frees can help but it shouldn't be a replacement for decent game play tactics.

So, technically, all 3 builds have built-in KB protection--it's just that 2 of them rely on upper-level KB protection, and the other is built for low-level play.

I did not read any of your other threads. Relying on incarnate powers to mitigate KB, check. Simple question, thanks for the simple answer...carry on
  13. I'm not going to offer critique because I don't believe that is what the OP is looking for. However, I do have one question, how are you mitigating knockback?
  14. I wouldn't bother with the Peacebringer forms anymore. Actually, I'm in the process of rebuilding my tri-former to an all human build. I've put some thought into the subject and can't come up with one decent reason to stay with a form build.

Edit: Something worth mentioning is the fact of the upcoming introduction of ATO's. I believe there will be bonuses associated. IE: human -> resistance | nova -> damage | dwarf -> health. I am still not changing my views on the tri-form Peacebringer just yet though.
  15. I have an idea folks, if you see something you think is trolling...DON'T POST IN THAT THREAD. It's a fairly simple concept and it keeps the crying and hurt feelings to a minimum. Human nature dictates that most people's pet peeves are things they are guilty of from time to time themselves. Hence, people who live in glass houses should not throw rocks.
I've owned and run many a forum over the years it's fairly easy for issues like this to get out of hand and it's hard to turn around once it does.

Regarding the OP, I agree with a lot of what was said. I went through a similar time with my Peacebringer. I had a really hard time getting my head around the forms and how to really get the most out of each and every power and more importantly SLOTTING. There are literally hundreds of different ways/approaches to Peacebringers. One common concept that needs to happen within every build (kheldians especially) is synergy. I personally found that each power and each slot absolutely must compliment one another. There isn't much room for error. It's really hard to explain. Try using Mids' and instead of putting together the 'perfect' Peacebringer, try building the worst and then study it. What are the things that you don't like? Keep you worse build in mind and use Mids' again and put together your real build. Here's a quick hint, focus on being sturdy. Not every great fighter can throw a hard punch, but I can guarantee they can take one! It'll take tons of trial and error but this technique worked for me, for my Peacebringer and my Warshade.
I started playing in December of 2005 on a fire/rad corr (which I still have) I've played most of the AT's and I didn't get into the Kheldian scene until very late, so I don't know much of the development history. One thing I do know is Kheldians are my absolute favorite AT to play. I do agree (like any AT) they are probably not for everybody.

Either way, I'm pretty honked off.
I believe we have already established that, but thanks for making it official

Lots of work arounds in the mean time. Search is your friend.
  17. It's funny you would mention it. I noticed this as well yesterday. I have my shifting and toggle binds on the number pad. I had to reset a couple using the button down, button up method to get two powers to bind.
    Example... /bind numpad1 "+down$$powexec_toggleoff black dwarf$$powexec_toggleon tough$$goto_tray1"

Normally, you cant activate two powers with one bind (to prevent bots, etc) but prior to Tuesday I was able to shift and activate a power. Doesn't appear to be that way now.

/bind numpad3 "powexec_toggleoff black dwarf$$powexec_name stygian circle" ----> Try that bind and see if it works for you. Push the numpad 3 down, hold for a sec and release.
  18. I'm on my phone so no access to Mids. However, I am curious on your thoughts regarding your choice of 'tough'. I typically make this a choice on many of my builds but with eclipse I've questioned its overall usefulness.

Exactly where I was at too. When I first started running itrials all I wanted to do was slot those powers, wasn't really thinking. I have a different approach now with my alts.

Thank you and sorry about that. First image looked half decent in photoshop. I've updated my original post. Hopefully, a better pic.

This is my Peacebringer Adella. I was going for a more elegant, contemporary style of look. At least, that is the way I envision Peacebringers.

And this is my Warshade Seventh Shayde. The purple is a real easy fit with a shade. I've had many characters since 2005 and she is by far my favorite...I have considered her my main for some time now and I don't see that changing any time soon

On a side note, looking at the picture closely, it's looks like someone flattened the front tire on my car. Ya know, you try to park in a decent neighborhood. You turn your back for one second and some Kheldian hater has to screw up my afternoon!
  22. Personally, as far the best travel power for MM I prefer a simple sprint with stealth slotted and ninja run and a jet pack for back up. Unless it's for a specific concept or theme that's the setup I usually roll with no matter which AT.
  23. Theme vs functionality, tricky to balance the two sometimes. I am not a min/max kiddie but Inky Aspect offers enough that I would take advantage of it over Shadow Slip. I agree with you SS makes a nice theme/concept choice and it would be a shame to drop it if it bringing an element you enjoy to the game. Maybe you could keep Shadow Slip while adding Inky Aspect and drop Resuscitate and just pick up the Resuscitate from the Market.
  24. I think this is a decent idea. I could use it for a concept change on one of my MM's.
However, my reasoning isn't of the whiny -look at me, I'm offended- variety. It's a unique, dynamic change that will bring a very interesting element to the Mastermind AT. Simple as that.
  25. "This is a harlot/woman of ill repute outfit". An excellent description of this set, I am not so sure how that title would look on the ad featured on the home page though
I started visiting the costume editor and viewing the pieces before I buy. This set I ended up with the back side cape and curly hair for a concept I've been working on. Obviously, my expectation is that not all sets will be gems and some will be less than stellar, IMHO this set falls into the latter category. It is missing a few key elements I would expect to see with a wild west theme. But hey, live, learn, and move on
