which server should i restart on
Biggest thing I can say is check the server forum for your server - there should be a list of global channels there - those can help you find teams.
As far as server load (which doesn't directly equal population) the server list will show, from the top down, the last server you accessed followed by the least - to - heaviest load (with Freedom and Virtue usually the two fullest servers).
Also, www.paragonwiki.com is a good resource.
Orc&Pie No.53230 There is an orc, and somehow, he got a pie. And you are hungry.
www.repeat-offenders.net
Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.
I'll add;
Union
Defiant
Zunkunft (sp)
Are the former EU servers, so the primetime for them would be off hours for the US.
Maestro Mavius - Infinity
Capt. Biohazrd - PCSAR
Talsor Tech - Talsorian Guard
Keep Calm & Chive On!
Remember that Freedom and Virtue, despite being the most populous servers, are not necessarily the "best" servers to play on for you. If you play at odd times or like doing different things (i.e. Not AE farming or RPing respectively) then you may find other servers are better suited to you.

Exalted (the new VIP server). It seems the devs will be neglecting the "free" servers.
Although if you ever intend to play as a Premium then you should absolutely not do this, obviously.
"You don't lose levels. You don't have equipment to wear out, repair, or lose, or that anyone can steal from you. About the only thing lighter than debt they could do is have an NPC walk by, point and laugh before you can go to the hospital or base." -Memphis_Bill

Quoting for emphasis. Those new global channels are where it's at. They have a max capacity of like 2500 folk, so it's like being in guild with 2500 members. There's almost always something going on, regardless of the server.
Get to your server forum (on these forums here), and ask about the global channels. If you have problems finding folk, ask on the forums when is the best time to play or find folk. You may have to switch servers depending on what times you play, but there's almost always a way to find folks. But you do have to ask for the advice.
I'm sorry, the only option that is available at this time is
"Forum PvP doesn't give drops. Just so all of you who participated in this thread are aware." -Mod08-
"when a stalker goes blue side, assassination strike should be renamed "bunny hugs", and a rainbow should fly out" -Harbinger-

It is this type of commentary that really is irresponsible and misinforms new/returning players. Just sad. Unless you're an employee @ PS or have secret info, you just don't know what the plan is.
Oh, how much INF would you like to bet when the F2P portion goes live, there will be a lot of events to excite new players. Do you think they may want to keep these freebie players? Ya think? Isn't that way this large change in business model is all about? To entice the new players with 'free' gaming then entice them into spending $? Maybe?

To the OP: I would suggest Virtue. People label it the role play server but that is only a very small part of the population. It is often the #1 server load and you get a more adult crowd there; not so much on Freedom. Union is also a good idea for off hours and they sometimes also hit medium loads during their peak hours. Having said all this, who knows how busy servers will get when the F2P model takes effect.
Neglecting? Wow. Someone is reaching a bit there. Any evidence of this, Chachi? They are having events for the early start (which is for VIPs only) on the VIP server. Uh? Riiiiiiiight.

No, Ralph Malph, I don't have "background info", and yes, I certainly am guessing based on the available facts, and yes I may be wrong. I definitely hope I'm wrong, but I've lost quite a bit of confidence in this game in the past year or two, so I reserve the right to be more than a little worried.

That's right Fonzie, they're doing everything they can to entice VIPs to pack up and move over to Exalted. Discounted transfer tokens, special Exalted-only events. This may be all that's needed to start a mass exodus off the smaller servers (Freedom and Virtue will, undoubtedly, be "fine", such as they are). And face it Potsie, there's just not as much incentive to entice free players as there is to entice paying players. Want to get access to the exclusive dev events, free player? Better sub up so you can get onto Exalted. There's literally no financial reason to care whether or not free players are happy.

Exactly, Joanie, you don't know what's coming. Although it would make very good sense to have events for new players on regular servers, you've written them off...haven't you, Pinky Tuscadero? Now you change your tune from certainty to maybe they will do something special. Back-pedal much, Big Al?

Crap, now I'm out of names. Wait, didn't Mork first appear on Happy Days? Yeah, take THAT, Mork! Nanu nanu!

Marion (Mrs. C), Howard (Mr. C), Arnold, Lori Beth, Chuck Cunningham, Dr. Mickey Malph, Police Officer Kirk, Leather Tuscadero, Moose, Roger Phillips, Marsha Simms, Melvin Belvin, Eugene Belvin, and the list goes on and on and on.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
Well sure, but none of those are funny (and wasn't Arnold the Big Al that JazMan used?). Well, maybe Moose, but that's too generic, that could just come off as a randomly insult.

Arnold was the original owner of Arnold's. Played by Pat Morita, of Karate Kid fame.
Mr. and Mrs. C are funny. Melvin Belvin is a bit funny. Leather Tuscadero is at least as funny as Pinky Tuscadero.
And all of those made more appearances in the show than Lenny and Squiggy. They were only in one episode (Fonzie's Funeral: Part 2).

I don't know where you get certainty from "it seems the devs will be neglecting the free servers", Squiggy. All I did was make a suggestion based on an observation, Lenny.

You should put half your alts on Freedom, the other half on Virtue. That's where the population is and where it will continue to be post Freedom. Spreading your alts between two servers helps when one server goes down or otherwise has technical issues.

How in the world can anyone other than you know your play style, preferences, likes, and dislikes enough to even give a decent answer to this? If everyone shared identical opinions, than the most populous server long ago would have become the only server...
That said, I'll offer what info I can, as best I can. If population is your only criteria, I'd say Freedom, then Virtue as the most likely choices, if you play in during the day to evening in a North American time zone. If not, then maybe Union also enters the equation.
I play on both Virtue and Union and enjoy both, and when I ant population, I play during those respective servers peak times, or I go against the peak times when I want more quiet.
I also play extensively on Justice, and never have a problem getting a team together at even the middle of the night, but I don't expect to be recruited at that hour. If I want to team there very late I night I take the initiative to form the team myself. Not sure if you'd be able to find a team at all hours of the night if you took the passive approach. So for me, it has plenty of population. It also has reliably scheduled special events, like predictable Hami raids and MS Ship raids, that aren't such massive turnouts that you can't get int he zone, and for me that's a selling point.
I've played extensively on Champs in the past and it seems quick similar to Justice to population and robustness of scheduled events, but that may have changed as I've not been there as much lately.

So, there are more invasions that what's listed. No need to feel left out at this point by anyone. No call for needless panic; there's plenty else to panic about, move along, nothing to see here.
I find your lack of signature disturbing.

Okay I don't play at all on Freedom so I have no clue what happens there but making a general statement that sounds like all that anyone of Virtue does is stand around role playing is very misleading.
You play at odd times.. what's odd to you because I am sometimes on at 3 AM (est) and can still find trials running in the RWZ and TFs forming on globals. And no I am not specifically talking about weekend.. I have found Lambdas to join at 2:30 in the morning on a Tuesday. The server has not one but two looking for TF channels (first filled to capacity so they created a second), a basic LFG channel for any sort of team and several general chat channels that people use when looking for a team as well.
You like events.. Mothership raids occur on a schedule here every Monday and Friday. Hamidon raids take place on weekends.. Blue side on Saturdays and Red side on Sunday. COP trials are not scheduled but there are several SGs that enjoy hosting and you can usually find one happening every weekend if you belong to the globals and happen to be on when they announce. lets see what else.. Cape Radio has numerous parties running if you enjoy listening to good music and hanging out after a hard day of pounding bad guys, or robbing banks, and once a month they hold a special Mothership raid hosted by the DJ who is also attacking the Rikti ship at the same time.
No I can't promise you won't go to the RWZ, Cimerora, or just about any place and there won't be a chance of running into rper but here on Virtue we PLAY the game and anyone that thinks all we do is stand around and emote is misinformed.

Have fun which ever server you decide on and welcome back

ok guys i'm going to try to come back to this game and i need a heads up on what servers are well populated. the last time i played was back in 09. i activated my account by purchasing some time so at least i'll be a "VIP".
