Newly-emptied character slots are locked

Just noticed this too. I had deleted 4 characters in the past and now those slots are locked. In reality I have purchased and unlocked all 36 slots on the liberty server. Now I guess I need to go look at the other servers as well.
edit: the ncsoft store appears to be down. That maybe the reason why the slots are unusable.
Friends don't let friends buy an ncsoft controlled project.
That is the reason.
If the store is down, it seems the game servers have no way of knowing how many slots you have other than the standard 12 per server, unless there is already a character in them. So if number of characters is greater than 12, you have no free slots. If you delete at character and you still have 12 or more, you still have no free slots.
I hope this will be fixed in Freedom.

So that means this is temporary? because i really want those slots back. like now,
Same problem here. Deleted a toon to reroll him and now the slot is unavailable.

WOW I hope it gets fixed as well. i currently have 36 filled slots on Virtue and one of my very first purchases with points will be 12 more. I'd hate to think I could log on and decide to create a new character and NOT be able to because the store is down.
I also find this a bit unsettling in the here and now.. those 36 slots I currently own I used a credit card and cold hard cash to open. When I ran out of slots available I even opened a 2nd account, like many others, and then purchased MORE slots there after I passed 12. The idea that 36 of the 60 current slots I own are only available if the NC SOFT store is up and running is not acceptable. i have seen periods where the store has been off line for several days.. I didn't spend money to be told I have to wait in order to create new characters. Now if the game is down completely for maintenance I can understand but if its up and running I want access to what i paid for.

Phew! that explains why last ngiht i had 7 redeemable slots and this morning i have none.
Also noticed that incarnate purchased items are back as available.

The store seems to go down a lot and when it goes down, it stays down for an inordinate amount of time.
Currently the only thing it effects is your character slots, when Freedom launches it also ties a whole lot more into that mechanic - you would lose the ability to play your Veats, Eats, Controllers, Masterminds and lose access to everything you have purchased.
Same issue here, deleted a Toon early friday morning and now it's locked, hope it is fixed soon.

I'm happy to hear they'll be replicating purchased stuff to the shard servers themselves.
The fact that they haven't been doing this all along, is distressing.

Once Freedom hits, Paragon will have their own dedicated store server in the same location as the rest of the servers that they'll have direct access to if any problems arise. It'll also have better hardware than the server they're using as the store in the beta test.

Does NcSoft respond to these issues or even read the threads? This has been an all day issue with me and it appears that others have had the problem for days.
At this point it's been down for 17 going on 18 hours, any bets as to it taking over 24?
Glad to see I'm not the only one with these problems. I deleted 2 of my characters on the Virtue server last night, and last I checked it still hasn't gotten me back my slots for it. However, I think I was a little less worried about it after finding out 2 things: this happens when the store is down, and the store is having alot of issues right now (as can be seen by the stickied post). In either case though, I filed a ticket about it, and I would recommend others doing the same if only to bring more attention to the problem at hand.
On the bright side, maybe I'll actually get around to playing the characters I already have instead of making hordes of new ones lol.
thank GOD I am not the only one this happened to. I was seriously beginning to doubt my sanity when I kept checking the account information to make sure I was STILL able to play! Well.. I'll keep an eye on this til a red name actually posts and tells us what's going on. I just hope that it's an issue that is resolved before issue 21. Most of us wouldn't like to wait til they get that puppy up and running to create and play our fun new ideas!

Hasn't it been down for a day now? I ran into this problem last night.
Characters:
- Dawnshift (50 Peacebringer/Virtue)
Is this on live? (i'm seeing Virtue, liberty, and other server names actually said) Or on beta? with said live characters (on the various servers) being transfered over to beta.
It's on the live servers, and it's very frustrating.

Deleted a couple characters this morning, and the newly-emptied slots are locked. Naturally this would happen when I suddenly thought of a great character idea. =P
It also looks like the NC store is down. Coincidence? Conspiracy? Nemesis?
