Thundercats 8/12

Okay, am I the only one that thought Lion-O and the gang had stumbled across Whoville?

EDIT: And that ending scene was the first time I think I've ever said "OH F*** YES!" to a cartoon!

I was thinking more Ferngully, without the sexy fairy, especially near the end. But now that you mentioned Whoville, it's sort of both.

This week's ep was good... BUT OH MY DAMN THAT ENDING!! MADE
OF
WIN!!!

There was a Snarfblocking. In that moment, I was amused by Snarf's antics while Lion-O wanted him stuffed.

This show is officially awesome.

I'm not ashamed to say i'm in love with the new thundercats!

I thought it was a good episode, and knew that there was going to be something of a tearjerking moment with the plant people. However when the ThunderTank and Panthro appeared right at the end. That's what sealed the deal

Haven't seen it yet, did they use the music from the original series when the Thundertank arrived? Did Panthro state his classic line "When I make 'em, they don't DARE breakdown!" ?

Panthro had one line, but it was the last line of the ep. And t'was an awesome official intro for Panthro and the Thundertank!

Also, I believe this is the first time Lion-O has sent up the Thundercats signal in the new series. Which I'm betting is what brought Panthro running in to save the day.

Finally caught it and it was a really good episode.

-Cheetarah and Lion-O are getting closer, at least they are doing the relationship progression well, taking it slow until "The Rival" (Hopefully Pumyra) is introduced.

-Great ending with Panthro and the Thundertank, hope we get an explanation to him because of the trickery Mumm-Ra pulled in the opener.

The show is a bit preachy, teaching us lessons about obsession (Ramlak Rising) and hope. At least it's not too heavy handed like the old Filmation He-Man episodes were.

Dare i say it's got the possibility of being better than the original? Yes i dare.

I have to say this show really is impressing me. This episode was exceedingly well written all the way to the surprise at the end.

It was profound and a tear jerker all in one episode. Some fantastic storytelling.

Yes but would it take much to beat the original series? As classic as the original series is, some of the episodes were rather.......well, stupid I guess is a good word. After they brought in the sword of Plundarr and New Thundera was when things started to get much better.

In some ways, this series is shaping up sort of like a single-player RPG. There's the main quest, searching f0or the Book of Omens, that keeps being derailed by side quests to help out the characters that they come across. It would be neat if, after the side quests are done, and they get to the Book of Omens, some representatives of those that they had helped along the way make a cameo appearances to aid in the completion of that main quest.

I've always been a sucker for those "It's good to have friends" moments in RPGs.

I suspect it will end with everyone Lion-O aided teaming up with him to put a permenant beat down on Mumm-ra.

Thanks.

There's not enough jungle girls. I'd love to see a remake of Jana, but <person in jungle> stories do not seem to do well since Tarzan was big many decades ago.

The series just keeps on getting better and better...i hope it will last

Loving the show. Artwork is really good, voice acting excellent, love the depiction of the Sword of Omens, and even from the glimpse we just got, I can tell the Thundertank will be awesome.

My ONE complaint so far is that Tygra keeps using that pistol instead of his awesome whip. We know he has it, we saw it in the first episode. Who cares if it makes more sense to shoot an energy pistol the WHIP has infinitely more STYLE! :-)

Otherwise, the show is rocking on all cylinders so far. Looking forward to more.

Yeah, I'm predicting we'll have an episode come up where his pistol finally runs out of juice and Tygra needs to deal with the fact that he's come to rely a little too much on his fancy new blaster.
