Why is it called Neutropolis?

I mean, the guy who runs it's not called Neutron.

They should have called it Neuronia... hehe

It's because they were born with hearts full of neutrality.

I hate those filthy neutrals. With enemies you know where they stand but with neutrals, who knows? It sickens me.

Weird... Google returned different search results for me when I plugged in "zombie beaver"

Nutria were imported to the United States from South America, people wanted to raise them for their fur since the mate faster and grow faster then beaver. That didn't work out so people just released them into where they prospered and multiplied.

There's actually a $8 per tail bounty for these guys in Oregon and Louisiana.

I'm too cowardly to go there.... I've spent all day watching BBC news and that's heartbreaking enough

i hear that if you rub vaseline on the stump after cutting the tail off it'll grow back. <.< Failing that, at least they have a chance to survive even if tailless and make more Nutria to harvest tails from later. (Deliberately missing the point.)

Oh, yeah, ouch. On the other hand, compared to what's been happening in the UK i think that that Google search would be hilarious.

(Neuron - ron) + (Metropolis - Me) = Neutropolis. Which just flat out sounds better than the other portmanteaus you can make out of Neuron and metropolis, or city, or polis, or other such things.

As opposed to what? Neuronopolis?

Perhaps going for Metropolis, and missing a syllable.

I don't see why it's not Neuropolis. I think it sounds better, and doesn't lead people to believe its leader is someone who doesn't have any strong opinions one way or the other.

Indeed. My tongue-in-cheek innuendo was meant for comedic purposes only

Neuropolis. After all, the T in "Metropolis" comes from meter, not polis. Call me fussy, but I don't think 10 seconds of etymological research is really too much to ask of professional writers. :)

But it *is* too much to ask from Neuron, who probably named it after himself.

Hmm. Soothing out-of-character linguistic pickiness by coming to the in-character conclusion that Praetor Berry wasn't paying attention. I hadn't thought of that! Well played. If this were Marvel Comics in the '60s you'd get a No-Prize for that explanation. :)
