With the New Freedom Update will long standing issues finally get addressed?
Just wanting to know if long standing issues will finally get looked at? I mean seriously one big glaring issue is how on every single new character I create the rest power, the ninja and beast run powers do not appear in my tray when I acquire them. For a new person coming in they might get frustrated thinking there is no rest ability like they have in the other MMOs or they might think when they bought the ninja and beast run powers that they got ripped off and do not see them. Yeah true enough you can drag this stuff in your tray but new people might not figure this out. Also just think of all the other long standing bugs like how with the LGTF the last mission map has huge holes in it in the final room and never displays correctly. These are just a few things that need looking at that have been bugged and nothing has been done about them.

Keep in mind that your major issues are not the other persons major issues and what drives the other person nuts probably doesn't even cross your radar as a problem.

That just goes to show you that some people are simply as dense as a bag of hammers.

(Also, it's nice that it shows up for you, but if it doesn't work for everyone then it's still a bug. Not being consistent just makes it a more annoying bug, really.)
That's a petty response to a reasonable question.
Years ago many people started calling the game City of Bugs because there were just so many bugs that never seemed to get fixed. Now the game is starting to develop another list of them. No, they're mostly aren't serious problems (the missing health bar is a serious issues), but it is reasonable to ask if they're going to get fixed. |
I've been playing for 7 years and this is the first time I've ever heard the phrase City of Bugs.

Yet I see threads like this where minor things are major issues to someone. So it's all about personal perception.

So how about the bug where people on my team perpetually display as in another zoning in so I can never see their health bars in my team window and I can't see them on my map so if my team-mate gets separated or killed I'll never know about it? Does that count as a bug?

That's the one I was referring to when I said "the missing health bar is a serious issue."

I usually find 1 other player on the team to toggle leadership with and have them pass back the star at the start of each mission. It's extremely annoying, but it keeps the team alive.
Another work-around is to wait til all members are in the mission then kick & reinvite a member. This is much more difficult and dangerous as the kickee loses SK for a brief moment and you have to re-invite them within 10 seconds or they get kicked out of the mish.
I really hope this bug is quashed in Freedom.

I can honestly say that none of those are major or even minor issues for me. Maybe very very minor issues. But that is it.

I mean, obviously Rest not auto-moving to your tray at level 2 isn't anything more than a very minor quibble for someone who's played the game for any length of time, because they already know about Rest and where to find it (bar the bag of hammers people, who are scarily widespread). It's a different story for a brand new player though, as it's something they may not even know to look for.
LGTF graphics glitch is maybe less of an issue in that sense since you have to get to 50 (well, 45) to experience it, but it's still going to create a pretty negative impression on someone that's not played for long and maybe hasn't made up their minds on whether to stay - it's not like it's just a small texture on a wall somewhere, it's pretty much the entire room disappearing on you.
I really hate the Rest icon bug. It is really annoying but only because I'm used to it appearing in the tray, it'd be nice for the run powers to show up too, but at least I know where to look. As someone else pointed out earlier, the Lambda run where you'd expect that people with level 50's would know about getting temp powers from the window and dragging them to the tray showed us that there are plenty of people that are pretty clueless about that.
I really hate the team mate zoning bug. Fine for when running normal missions with like level people since you can re-invite without too much worry. Nice to know about passing the star trick, though. But it's really not too cool in task forces.
There are quite a few map bugs that happen too. Every so often the mission map won't load into the map screen or there are missing portions where you see your position but no path of how you got there. Or sometimes in caves there's a literal black wall that you walk into and suddenly the rest of the cave loads if you look on the map screen, there's a thin, white line where the black wall appeared.
But this is an MMO, I think that bugs are standard with them. Particularly with one that's 7 years old. I recall a quote by an EQ dev one time trying to describe the difficulty in solving a bug they had where he basically said that the code was like jumbled spaghetti that needed to be unraveled one noodle at a time. Now that's messed up coding right there. The bugs I've encountered, and those that people talk about never seem to be so horrible that it'd cause me to stop playing though. City of Bugs, that's a first for me too.

You realize how annoying it would be if all the powers from all the packs immediately entered your tray at the appropriate levels? For someone like me that owns most of the packs, that would be a lot of tedium every time I make a character. First off, the powers will appear wherever they fit, and I have to move them. Second, I may not want to use them all.
Self Destruct always appears on my power bar the moment my new character enters tutorial, right where I usually put my primary attack. You know how many times I have accidentally blown myself up? Actually they're not missing. They're not actually shirt options. They're chest detail options that fit over the top of your shirt. For example, the Bustier. If you're making a female toon, just choose the "Eden" skin top option and then choose Bustier in Chest details, and it will be visible. Or you can mix and match it with whatever shirt you want. |

Don't know what game you're playing, but the Rest power shows up in my tray when I train up to level 2.
Ninja Run and Beast Run come from booster packs, that could explain why they do not show up. Walk does not show up either and it's a new game "power" available to everyone at level 2. |
