How much time have you invested?
Yeah, I don't think those numbers can be considered accurate in general. There's been about 7 and a third years since launch, about 64000 hours. If you've played, for example, 13000+ hours as Turg reports, then you'dve been playing roughly a fifth of the TOTAL time passed since launch. That's almost 5 hours a day, every day, for the past 7+ years. That just isn't feasable. Which sucks, because it's an interesting question.

I would not be surprised at all to see some people coming in over that, especially folks with multiple badging toons, extra especially if they got the AFK farming badges before they were made easier.

That's not counting marathon play dates (especially common in DXP!) which reduces the "x a day every day" number, nor does it factor in AFK farming for badges (damage and healing were/are the most common AFK farming). Plus there are surveys and polls all over the net that say there is a rather large slice of the gaming community that *DOES* *INDEED* play for many hours, every day (or at least most days).

50, Mr. Notorion, 219
46, Superette, 81
39, Flicker Nik, 97
34, Fight Knight, 161
29, Boiler, 50
28, Medical Bill, 77
26, Cerebrawl, 40
25, Mighty Casey, 47
25, Cantessa, 94
25, Dr. Starkraven MD, 50
20, Mr. Stark, 48
17, Stormtossed, 16
16, Screaming Flea, 16
total: 996 hrs.
I think it might actually be double that in total time invested when adjusting for various characters I've played and then deleted or rebuilt. I don't know that there's a way to find the DATE a character was created, but that would be interesting.
Although I feel quite inadequate compared to y'all my low overall levels does demonstrate a couple interesting things to me (if the hours the game reports are indeed accurate). My two oldest characters are Mr. Notorion and Fight Knight. Their current iterations may actually date back to something like issue 6 or 7. Over 4 hours play for every level for those two. It shows the GRIND that was in place at the time.
Flicker Nik and Superette I don't think are THAT much more recent than those two but the numbers are dramatically different. I know I was running Superette through some AE farms for a brief while. A few of the other higher level characters also did somewhat less farming but mostly I've otherwise avoided AE farms (AE in general).
My two most recently created characters are obviously the lowest level ones there. Only about an hour per level. Course, that's still below 20th and I think levelling may still be a bit faster in that range but it still shows how much they've adjusted things. Patrol xp, double xp weekends, introduction and changes to inventions...
Edit: Come to think of it though, back in the day I used to just hang out in AP a LOT. Dr. Starkraven MD, for example, is a toon who almost certainly has spent more time just bouncing around under Atlas as actually levelling. I created him almost FOR that purpose. Still, makes for interesting comparison to ME of my characters.
Hmmm...
Levels 50's:
Dreameater: 1169 (My 'Main')
The Deathsman: 420
Persephone Lee: 347
Lady Vasilisa: 1516 (!!????)
Sipheon: 654
Arachnon: 117
Ionaut: 153
Professor Klanke: 153
Artemis Young: 189
Pyrolator: 213
Across the other 39 alts? Not going there.
Of all the 50's, 5 were (re)created at issue 6. The more recent ones Have had a significant reduction in their leveling time. The mastermind, Lady Vasilisa, confuses me. I had no idea I played that character so much, it's not even in my top favorite characters list. Huh.
Zombie Fryer has spent 4054 hours on Patrol. Kinda scary when I think about it...

There are so many times that I try to log in and get the message "This account is already logged in" that I think the data is skewed horribly on my toons.
Kestrel, Pally and Ash were all three in the neighborhood of 500 the last time I checked. And they're just my older mains. I'm sure Shade and Surruna are getting up there, too.

Which is about 72 Hours per month. Which comes out to be 21¢ per Hour, not bad for an hours worth of entertainment (though, it is actually less than that, since this list is NOT all inclusive).
Without looking :
Too much.
Since 2008 I have logged about 10,500 hours since I X Fire only show,s what I have done since I joined that, but I would say that on average I play 240 hours a month.Been playing 63 months so a close total would be 15,120 hours since I started way to much I know but fun all the same .

Yeah I play on my Farmer a minimum of 12 hours a day and somehow she has so far clocked up a massive 14 hours.
I'm not gonna bother checking out my other characters lol. |
Would say those with the highest accrued time, would be the alts you spend most time standing out of missions chatting to others.
As far as I remember there has been no way of an accurately reading how long you have played each alt for, and the devs don't want to go to the extreme to implement that, hence the closure of the City Info Terminals.
Too many 50's to list here's a few you may know.
Slazenger, Area51, Area53, Area54, Erruption, Mind Plague, Thresher, Sheath, Broadside, Debt

Gruumch (brute) - 475

Loco-Motive(brute) - 336
Kunundrum(brute) - 295
Kold Phyre(tank) - 216

Crazee Payne(brute) - 130
Temporal Void(brute) - 200
OmegaDrohne(brute) - 108
Total hours for 50's - 4206
I only have one with over 1000 hours and he is my farmer. Once I get them to 50 I don't go back and play them very often.
edit: I have maybe 20-30 characters under 50 and they probably have 100 hours or less on them each, so I may have 7000 hours total over 5 years. I guess I haven't played near as much as I think I have or my wife accused of playing...lol
I just checked what I think is my oldest toon; Up Start: 767 hours on patrol.
Then I checked what my farmer; Fire Fly Eve: 968 hours on patrol.
My scrapper Peril 11137 hours (and he's a reroll from DM/regen to Kat/WP)
I wouldn't even want to know how many hours I've accumulated on the characters I've deleted over the past 7+ years let alone the ones I still have.
I'm just going to go with averaging 10 hours a week the first 2 1/2 years, then 20 hours per week the next year and then 50 the next 3 years and 30 for the last year with 2 weeks vacation off per year puts me around a total of 11,250 hours.
I know of at least 3 of my characters over the 1000 hours mark each.
total kick to the gut
