Might be a good idea to test the ability to join ongoing trials as well (either through and invite or the LFG tool). I have never heard of either working (on my server at least).

My guess would be they are running some new code or hardware configuration on test during these times to see how they may need to tweak the live servers for the incoming horde of new/returning players.
It turns out that's what the live stress tests were about, now it's time they take the info they gathered from that and applied it to the game to watch things blow up!
I mean, NOT blow up. 
And if by some fluke it does go BOOM!, no one (aside from the tech team) gets hurt.

So many were discussing why during the European peak hours? Why NOT during the workday when more people are at the studios to assess the activity? I am quite sure many devs, mods and GMs work at various hours. From my dusty chair, the hours selected made sense to the people that run the game, so I am with them.
People who live in glass snowglobes... probably know a lot about crazy talk.

Ah - I was wondering where everyone was when I logged on just now!
In anticipation of the influx of new players with City of Heroes Freedom™'s launch, we will be running weekly stress tests on the Training Room beginning tomorrow, August 3, up to the launch of City of Heroes Freedom. These tests will be held either Monday or Wednesday each week, from 11:00 a.m PDT (2:00 p.m. EDT / 7:00 p.m. BST / 8:00 p.m. CEST) to 1:00 p.m. PDT (4:00 p.m. EDT / 9:00 p.m. BST / 10:00 p.m. CEST), and again at 5:00 p.m. PDT (8:00 p.m. EDT / 1:00 a.m. BST / 2:00 a.m. CEST) to 7:00 p.m. PDT (10:00 p.m. EDT / 3:00 a.m. BST / 4:00 a.m. CEST).
These stability tests will include running Incarnate Trials, TFs, and other missions. The Paragon Community Team will be present at each event to participate and randomly give away costume codes to a few lucky players, so come and join us each week! We'll keep you informed on the dates!
