Heya TA, a couple questions.

First, are you trying to keep it 1 Demo per acc't, or can we submit more of our most known toons?

Second, I saw Ainsley Jerden in the list, but not in the first pass. Will you be moving the 'shorter' toons into the center more and the 'taller' toons out a bit?

Whether or not NCsoft will even give a petition of this nature a second glance, it's still worth the effort to support the idea. It's better than doing nothing, and I doubt anyone could realistically argue that fact.

I started this petition earlier today, roughly an hour after the initial press release, and this seems to be another suitable thread to bring it to attention.

It doesn't matter if their past track record has proven they won't budge. I feel better having created this petition, and I'm sure others feel the tiniest bit better having added their signature to it.

But I concur. Justice has been the perfect server to play on for this long.

Well, if we want to kick off a conspiracy theory debate... it could be added that the removal of Statesman and Sister Psyche from the game itself could be chalked up to trying to appeal to a legal settlement over intellectual rights.

It's starting to make sense.

There are so many petitions out there for NCSoft to continue to support City of Heroes/Villains. I understand why. I'm also very emotionally attached to this MMO. I met my wife here, and we've been married for three years now. All of my friends are online and in this game.

But at the same time, I acknowledge that NCSoft has commited to their choice of action. There's no 'take-backs' or 'oops our bad' in this scenario.

What's needed is a more logical approach to this crisis. Yes. The game is going to be taken down before the end of this year; and there is nothing we can do about it.

So what I propose is a petition to release the game code. Making it open source. This would enable private servers hosted by former players of CoH to operate. There would be no further development on the game. But it would continue, as it is right now (depending on whether or not they release Issue 24).

I encourage you to look this petition over, and consider whether or not you agree with it. If you do, then please feel free to sign it. If not, enjoy the time we've been given to make peace with the inevitable. Because between a petition to continue their support, or a petition to open source a game they're shutting down regardless.... I think it's obvious which they might seriously consider.

At the moment I doubt we could pool together that much of a financial backing, but at least it's worth a shot.

If it's declined despite the petition, then we know beyond a shadow of a doubt how much they care about their customers and players.

We need to initiate a petition... and no, before you jump to conclusions this wouldn't be a petition for NCSoft to continue to support CoH and Paragon Studios. Because chances of that occurring are nil. We need to start a petition to have the game, as it sits right now, be made opensource for those of us with the means and the will to host it privately.

Now, I do not know my way around the CoH Forums as much as many of you who are here daily. So I personally wouldn't know where to start. But if we can get the ball rolling here, word would spread like wildfire.

I have been a dedicated player since the launch of City of Villains, and my wife whom I met here in this game has been here since City of Heroes Beta. As i stated in the LFG channel this morning on Commander Hudson:

Yep, a jet pack is suggested! The Event League will be lead by Level 50's, at least one for each team, so Sidekicking is taken care of.
