F2P Players Who Want to Say Goodbye

I just started playing this game with my husband about 30 days ago, and had planned to sub with him once the paycheck came in.

Even though I've only been playing a little while, the people I've met so far have been kind, intelligent, and fun. I'm sorry that I may never get to know most of you.

That said... make your DC & Marvel clones now, amirite?

The nasty side of my brain is suggesting that CoH's customer base size may have factored into the decision of which game to cut. If CoH is the smallest NCSoft game (I honestly don't know, I haven't been around long), that means the smallest number of disappointed customers when the game gets cut off...

...But I'm just a noob, what do I know?

Thing is, so far as we know, the game was profitable. So whatever the monthly profit/loss of ncsoft is with CoH, it will be lower profit or higher loss without...

I'll probably still play once in a while before it goes down. I'll say goodbye in advance now though.

I've played since closed Beta, was there on game opening with my pre order, played as a sub for over a year, took a break, and came back several times for a few months each shot. With the game going Free to play a year ago, I was pleased to be able to return every so often to enjoy the action and make characters.

Thank you, all of the Paragon Studio staff that gave me so much fun.

Thank you, to all of the devs who made this game in the first place over 8 years go in taking the craziest mix of dreams and making them happen.

Thank you, to all the players who helped create a gaming community that is HANDS DOWN one of the friendliest and most accepting / most fun bunch of people any MMO on the planet could possess. Sony, Blizzard, and more all would openly weep with joy to have this kind of quality at this kind of percentage of the player base to call their own.

I'm not even mad at NC Soft. Yes, I'm completely disappointed with what has happened but I don't have enough information to really know how I should feel about this closing of the game. So all I can fall back upon was - I had fun for free for numerous months, and I am grateful for this.
