Awesome. I have only one slot left but at least twp fully developed (on paper anyway) stories I want to do. I'm glad they finally made this choice to let us get more. Double inspirations? Five more costume slots? Time manipulation? Pfeh! I know where my VIP points are going.

Gonna make so many Drakule arcs. You have no idea.

Yes...and no. It all depends on if something is done about farm explosion. If it gets cut down and we can get the newcomers interested in AE for actual stories then this is a good opportunity. If not, then yeah it's pretty pointless.

Pretty pointless and too late.

The problems (and I don't just mean farming) with AE and the utter lack of development have pretty much made the whole thing pointless.

Regular AE missions giving LESS XP than nearly any other FARM also probably won't do much to attract new blood.

Blazara Aura LVL 50 Fire/Psi Dom (with 125% recharge)
Flameboxer Aura LVL 50 SS/Fire Brute
Ice 'Em Aura LVL 50 Ice Tank
Darq Widow Fortune LVL 50 Fortunata (200% rech/Night Widow 192.5% rech)--thanks issue 19!

I'm mad that the twenties this game prints for me aren't in consecutive order too.

It's still a step in the right direction.

Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions on how this could/should be done?

There is no way to make people who don't want to read interested in stories (except boosting rewards for story arcs), but there are ways to make finding the stories easier. Like, for example, a special tag for "story arcs" as opposed to, uhm... let's call them "training arcs". If all farms were filtered out on default searches it might help people actually looking for stories.

One thing they could do. . . .

Build on the "training mission" that's already in the game where you get introduced to the AE.

Have it end with two things:

1. A walkthrough showing in detail how to search up and start an arc.
2. A randomly picked arc from a short list (5 or 6, perhaps?) of short to medium length dev- or player-created arcs that it links you to as your next mission to do. If these are dev-created, keep these static. If these are player-created, rotate them monthly or bi-monthly. They could even incorporate some of the arcs that are being recommended by players on here but so far NOT winning Dev's Choice as possibilities. This would show that these arcs DO have promise and potential (being recommended as a candidate for Dev's Choice but not winning can possibly come off as a "No thanks" gesture when it might not be intended as being so harsh), and it would help them along toward potential Hall of Fame status.

They could also find some way to tie part of the endless end-game system to the AE, just one little bit somewhere. Maybe require an up-n-coming incarnate to go run a DC for example.

Yes, but you aren't going to like it.

Legitimize farms. Add a "This is a Farm Arc" tag and allow players to filter for farms/non-farms. When you implement it set all existing arcs (and the new arc template) to "this is a farm" by default (I figure story tellers are more likely to go back and change their arc to "this is not a farm" than farm writers are to change their arcs to "this is a farm"). Make declaring a farm arc to be a non-farm arc an actionable offense (arc and slot gets locked). It's not a perfect solution but it provides a system to allow players who want to play stories to more easily find them.

1. The ability to purchase more arcs to create.

2. The *possibility* that some maps and critters will be added to the AE.

3. No planned changes in the mechanics of AE in I21/FREEDOM.

4. Pay-to-play. Accessing the AE just to play it as well as access to create arcs is gated by Reward Status. So, no freebie newbies flocking to the AE to farm it. If you want to farm it, then you have to pay up to invest in the game. So, it's pay-to-farm.

Unless they remove all rewards but tickets from AE, I could care less about what they add to it. I'll never step foot in that farmers paradise, nor will I ever step foot in Atlas ever again.

Maybe it's just my screwy way of thinking but this does sort of make sense. AE is supposedly virtual reality. Why should someone gain "real world/life" experience from it?

Another idea might be to bring back some of the old AE badges and have one of them be a requirement for an Accolade that grants an in-game benefit. For instance, due to the amount of time they have spent "experiencing" AE, the character's mind has become more resistant to intrusion, thereby granting them a natural 10% increase in resistance to Psychic Damage. Or maybe make completing a certain number of player-made arcs a requirement for the Elusive Mind power.

Sucks to be you once I21 goes live and AP gets a complete overhaul, complete with new content.

Also gonna suck since you'd never be able to play new heroes unless you wanted to start them as villains/Praetorians and side switch.
