Quote:Nope. Using the Expert Tech Worktable.2) Are you perhaps using an arcane worktable and looking for a tech item?
The two Hide options are turned off. I've even tried while having the necessary Salvage in my inventory. All the other Control Aux items (Advanced Corner Terminal, Advanced Database, and Mega Monitor) are listed but Advanced Terminal is not. -
I've tried all three types of Tech tables (Basic, Advanced, and Expert) and Advanced Terminal isn't listed on any of them. Advanced Corner Terminal is (on the Expert Table) but not Advance Terminal.
-
According to Paragon Wiki, creating an Advanced Terminal requires an Expert Worktable. However, when I put one in my base, Advanced Terminal isn't listed. I've tried Basic and Expert Worktables as well and neither of them list Advanced Terminal either. What am I doing wrong?

Nope. . . ran it solo with a Dark Melee/Ninjitsu Stalker. The nice thing was that when I ran away, they didn't follow.
The mission was the Local Nurse Disappears mission so the turrets didn't fit the description or the dialogue. . . unless the Devs have watched "Maximum Overdrive" or "The Terminator" one too many times. The enemy group was literally "Turrets".
There was no time gap between getting the mish and running it. Read the newspaper, selected the mish, and ran it immediately thereafter.
After I nabbed the nurse and lead her to the exit, I made a point of going back through and clearing the map, just to see if there was someone controlling the turrets. There wasn't. I even managed to get a couple of screenshots. Sadly, I didn't get any of the Dual Artillery or Quad Howitzers.
-
Since when were turrets a mob? I just completed a level 15 newspaper mission in Cap au Diable in which the opposing force was nothing but turrets: Dual Artillery, Quad Howitzer, Hovering Chain Guns, and Pop-Up Anti-Personnel. . . which literally popped up anywhere. There was a warehouse full of them and other than their hostage (the mission objective), there wasn't any "people" involved. The flippin' things even spoke!
I've been playing off-and-on for seven years and this is the first time I have ever seen this so I'm a bit confuzzled. -
The link has been placed in my SG message. I have also included it in the team search message for a number of my characters.

Custom Critters and Critter Groups are saved as text files so it's a simple task of dropping a copy of a particular file into the Critter/Group folder. The next time you go into "My Creations" in AE, the new Critter/Group will be there.
That being the case, I was wondering if there was an on-line repository or database of some kind where people share their Custom Critters. -
I will fully admit to utilizing the farming/self-email technique. I use my level 50 Hero to farm INF by running Incarnate Trials. I then e-mail the INF to myself, claim it with one of my Villian toons (all of which are in the same 1-player SG) and exchange it for PRE.
So basically, the base of my Villian SG has been financed almost exclusively by a Hero.
Quote:What is an SG other than a glorified "Friends" list? Being in an SG gives us access to a base but with the ferries/helicopter/trains now all connected, what is a base other than a glorified storage bin? That leads to the question "How does one make sg's relevant to larger groups?"
Quote:Well, any chance you can find someone who goes around earning the healing badges for other SGs out of the goodness of their heart? I can't be the only person who does it. So far, I have earned the healing badges for 41 different SGs. -
Quote:In full agreement here. These things are just taking up (ie: wasting) space. Since an author's name is the same as their username, my suggestion would be to cross-reference all of them and flag all arcs by authors that no longer have active accounts. Depending on how long the account has been inactive (maybe a year or more), delete those arcs.Additionally, the ten's of thousands of abandoned, broken and test arcs need to be cleaned out of the system.
WN
The same goes for broken arcs. I have no idea if the Devs can tell (quickly and easily, that is) if an arc is broken but if they can, find all the broken ones and flag them. Then determine how long they have been broken. If they've been broken for more than a year and there is no indication of the author attemping to fix them in that time, delete them.
As for test arcs and farms, that's where it would get messy. The only way to really determine whether or not an arc is a test or farm (other than it being blatantly stated in the description) would be for someone to "inspect" every single arc. That requires time and manpower. While many of us (myself included) would consider this a "dream job", I seriously doubt there is any company in world (not counting the US government) that would be willing to pay someone to do that. . . especially when it's easier/cheaper to simply ignore the "junk" arcs and leave them cluttering up the system. -
Quote:Better plan on use by a different species (bees or roaches maybe) because extinction is the only way humans will ever get over themselves.. . . for possible future use by humans once they get over themselves.
On a more cheerful/positive note, be sure to let us know when that arc is available -
Quote:One thing to remember is that AE arcs are limited to 100KB sized files. Every "custom" detail has to fit into that. Imagine how much of that 100KB a custom map would take up.
Sixth, the lack of ability to create your own custom maps, even if it was just modular. Also, no ability to place things like environment barriers and the like. There are certainly lots of maps, but essentially you can only create smash and kill missions with the maps available, which tends to make the missions very hollow.
Hopefully, once Freedom is implimented and people have to "pay" to have access to AE, the farmers will go elsewhere thereby ending the abuse of it and thus the Devs may feel more inclined to put more time/effort into AE and give us some of the features we've been asking for. -
When making custom enemies, usually what I do is find a standard enemy that is similar and then research them at paragonwiki.com to see exactly which powers they have. I rarely ever use the presets.
Regardless of their level, Minions typically only have 2 Powers, 1 from their Primary and one from their Secondary. These are almost always lower level powers. In the case of Assault Rifle/Devices, it would probably be Burst and Targeting Drone.
Lieutentants typically have 3 Powers, two of which are usually the same powers as the Minions while the 3rd is a higher level Primary. . . such as Full Auto.
Bosses should ALWAYS be custom, typically having 4 or 5 powers but no more than two being higher level Primary.
Anyways, that's the "system" I use and it seems to work fairly well. Mileage may vary. -
Outdoor maps don't have front, back, or middle. The whole map is considered one single "area".
I've noticed a similar quirk with AVs conning as EBs in my mishes. Recenty, I made AE versions of some of the Shadowstar story arcs. Nosferatu, Requiem, and Arakhn all conned as EBs even though I had specifically selected their AV versions. Not sure how or why that is happening. -
-
It's times like these that I really wish I would learn to just keep my mouth shut and leave the "intelligent conversation" to the people who actually are intelligent.
AE = Hologram ala Star Trek Holo-Deck, not computer-generated cyber reality ala The Matrix.
Duh! -
Maybe it's just my screwy way of thinking but this does sort of make sense. AE is supposedly virtual reality. Why should someone gain "real world/life" experience from it?
Another idea might be to bring back some of the old AE badges and have one of them be a requirement for an Accolade that grants an in-game benefit. For instance, due to the amount of time they have spent "experiencing" AE, the character's mind has become more resistant to intrusion, thereby granting them a natural 10% increase in resistance to Psychic Damage. Or maybe make completing a certain number of player-made arcs a requirement for the Elusive Mind power. -
-
Or more accurately, the things that require the most thought and creativity on the part of the players are the least popular (go figure!) and thus make the least money.
Now what would be cool (IMO) would be a SG Booster Pack to match each of the Super Boosters - Cyborg, Martial Arts, SuperScience, Steampunk, Mutant, etc.
Will probably never happen but as long as we're hoping. . . -
Why is it the things that require the most thought and creativity on the part of the player (Base Construction and AE) recieve the least amount of love from the Devs?
-
Uh. . . okay. . . apparently I have done something wrong.
-
Functional Items as Decorative Items!!!! - things like the Arcane Bookcase or the Tech super computer that are simply decoration and don't actually generate/use Power or Control.
-
That's what I thought. Unfortunately, I've used 6 of my 8 to remake the Shadowstar story arcs that aren't available to non-Kheldians. I was hoping there was a way to get more but. . .
-
Okay. . . just a quick (and rather dumb) question:
The maximum number of published arcs a player is allowed to have is 8. It is not possible to have more than that, not even by purchasing more publish "slots".
Correct? -
I'd like to see maps that are more historical or culture based/themed. It's rather annoying to try to make a medieval themed arc without any medieval castle interiors.
I'd also like to see outdoor maps from Cimerora; the town, the temple, the fortress, etc.
I know very little about programming but I am curious as to what it would take to have a series of generic "blank" interior maps and permit the author to choose which wall/floor/ceiling style (ala the SG Base editor) to apply to them.
Totally customizable maps would be cool but I realize they are totally out of the question. If Custom Critters eat up so much space, I don't want to even imagine what a completely custom map would cost in terms of file size.
