AE Updates in Issue 21?

The stuff hurts. Sure it's not actually real, but it's not like everything you fight is intangible, either. You can set up scenarios with it more extreme than you'd ever come across in the real world and gain plenty combat experience from your training.

I always thought if they could just plug the exploits 'and' keep the incentive, the AE would thrive.

I had a blast (and do) running AE arcs, but it's hard to motivate people to play with you with all the difficulties involved 'and' less rewards.

The X-Men had their Danger Room for training, for example.

It's times like these that I really wish I would learn to just keep my mouth shut and leave the "intelligent conversation" to the people who actually are intelligent.

AE = Hologram ala Star Trek Holo-Deck, not computer-generated cyber reality ala The Matrix.

It really will suck, because I'd love to give new Atlas a shot.

AE totally kills the experience though with the CONSTANT farm spam and the incredibly bad lag.

You do know you can just ignore the spam, right? And it's really not that bad. I go there regularly on Virtue and I see maybe a couple people ask for farms.

That might be the case on Virtue, but I'm on Freedom. You see on average 10 farm request per minute and every time you enter or exit a door, you have to wait 10-15 seconds before you can move.

Yes, I COULD just change servers, but I should not have to change servers to just properly play the game. That's the point.

/ignore list, and lower your graphics settings. If they're already bare minimum, best I can say is save for a new computer. I21's still a ways away.

My graphics settings have nothing to do with it, it's the server itself. If you don't believe me, roll a character on Freedom and see for yourself.

As far as ignoring people go, you're missing the point entirely. By doing that, I am basically turning CoH into a single player game, because NO ONE ever leaves Atlas Park. All they do is stay there and farm. Unless it's an Incarnate Trial, which may I reminds you is level 50, you are not likely to EVER find a team outside of the AE in Atlas.

Yes, Atlas Park on Freedom is like PI was on Freedom before AE. The difference is that you're done with Atlas Park by level 5, whereas you're stuck in PI from level 40 onward.

Do you really want to team with people who are obsessed with getting max XP as fast as possible? They're doing us a favor standing around spamming for farms, because otherwise they'd be out there in the PuG population complaining they're not getting XP fast enough and telling you you should reroll your Scrapper as an SS/Fire Brute and bragging about how many 50s they have as if anyone cares.

You people are missing the point. I don't want to alienate a majority of the game, I want to play with them. AE however has turned them into nothing but shameless farmers who will never experience the games actual content.

I can't count how many level 50's ask me things like "Where can I get a cape?" or "What is the Hollows?"

That last one almost brings a tear to my eye. ;_;

Find an SG.

Join a global channel.

Form teams with global friends.

Just because you remove broadcast or ignore farmers doesn't mean you're alienating the entire game's worth of population.
